I you have never had a child before getting an IUD, it increases your chances of having an etopic pregnancy.

I saw my doctor at 1 week pre-op and he said it was fine that I was taking in about 500 calories or less as long as I was getting enough Protein. Also, he did not want all my protein to be from liquid (Isopure, bullets) because the powders have a little carbs in them where the pre-made do not. I hated the yogurty after taste of Isopure, and the thickness of the bullet. Thanks to my LBT friends, if you put a crystal light (lemonade worked for all flavors for me) in the Ispopure and mix the bullet with Water and cyrstal light, it was yummy. Or at least tolerable. Good luck to you.

TSH is to measure your thyroid hormone levels. A high TSH means you are hypothyroid (your body needs more thyroid hormone). If your TSH is too low, you are hyperthyroid. Hypothyroidism is easily corrected through syntroid medicince. Sypmtoms can include fatigue, weight gain, depression, sensitivity to cold, dry skin. Though there is a range of acceptable TSH levels, I find that when mine are closer to 1-2 I feel better.

I am only allowed to have 2 oz (1/8) of a cup of cottage cheese, beans, etc. I am allowed to have 3 oz of high protein soup and light yogurt. When I can add fruits and vegetables, I can only have 1 oz along with my 2 oz for a total of 3 oz (less than a half a cup). I am allowed to eat breakfast/snack/lunch/snack/dinner and was encouraged to eat every 3-4 hours. Maybe you are not eating frequently enough?

I am allowed to have 2 ounces of things like cottage cheese, beans, oatmeal/cream of wheat/grits and 3 oz of high protein soup and light yogurt. I can eat this amount for breakfast/snack/lunch/snack/dinner. When I can have fruit and vegetables I can only have 1 ounces of those and continue the 2 oz of the other for a total of 3 ounces. That is less than a half a cup. -
I just had my 2 week post op visit with my nutrionist and was suprised that in my next phase I am allowed to have a half a slice of low cal wheat bread or 2 wheat crackers or 1/2 of a light english muffin. Can have them with peanut butter or cheese or make a mimi pizza with the english muffun. I can't have some thing that most have in the mushy stage but I wasn't arguing.

Someone on here mentioned the port is actual above or below incision, not exactly under, but it wouldn't be the size of a grapefruit. Call, better safe than sorry.

I know plateus are common and that some say that before the first fill is for healing, but after losing 9 lbs since my surgery, I have have weighed the same for 3 days and then was up .4 lbs today. I am taking in about 500 calories a day and my sirgeon did not seemed concerned. I have been running non stop as this was my first week back to school and I went only 5 days after surgery. The only thing I have done differently has had a few soups out (strained) becuase we were entertaining guests. I have been walking and walked 50 minutes yesterday and took an hour long power walk today. Any advice??

At least 60 grams. I was told to drink 2 oz at a time and by the end of the 2nd week could get up to 6 oz but not to force it.
-
I was allowed to have protein shakes from the get go, skim or 1% milk, broth, sf popscicles and any calorie free beverage. I was to only drink the shakes 2 oz at a time every 1-2 hours with the goal of getting 60 grams of protein a day. Definately call you dr and ask. You need protein.

Hopefully this will be encouraging. The third day out was the day that I waseither hungry or head hungry becuase I wanted everything that I say or could think of. Since then, I have been fine, even sat in front of the food at a potluck and watched everybody eat. It was just a fluke that one day so hopefully you will follow suit and the cravings will pass. You are strong and you can do this. -
Do you have to do nexium post-op. That can cause dry mouth too.
-
Citrical makes a calcium citrate and offers it in new petite sizes (read the packaging as they also offer regular sizes/got it at Wal-mart.) It is about half of a regular calium and I have been taking that since banding one week ago and things are fine.

Just wanted to add that I am 7 days out and my port area is sore still. My port is about 3 fingertips under the bottom middle of my breast bone. The round things with the metal are for the monitors. I had 3 left in various places they missed.

spay and neuter- I had my pre-op on Monday and I also got prescriptions. One was for Nexuim which I take two the night before surgery and one a day for a month. Another was for an antibiotic which I take the night before. Another was for a patch that I put on the night before, take of for am shower, and then reapply behind ear. I also take Reglan fo nasaeu one hour before surgery. And last I get an OTC antiseptic body wash that I have to shower with the night before and morning of. Hope that helps. I would call the dr or nurse and just double check.

Make us proud ladies and update. Here's to a newer and more healthy you. -
btimberlake- First go to tickerfactory.com and make a ticker for weightloss then go to the right side of the screen and edit your profile. Once there, click on the left side to edit signature. Cut and paste the code from ticker factory into the signature. The August Allstar can be found at the top of the page under this forum and you can paste those in as well. Good luck.
