Anyone Regret The Surgery?
Melsauve replied to steph1558's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Shelb that was very brave of you to put your heart out like that. I'm sorry you have had a hard time. With anything there is negatives to the surgery. But I think for most the good out weigh the bad. It's definitely a personal choice for all of us. For me I'm so glad I did it but now I have to say I am more self counsious of my body then before. With more attention comes more insecurities. With time I hope I will be more comfortable with the new me. Before I was glad to find clothes to cover me now I search clothes that i feel cover my flappy thighs. I feel like people judge me now then before. Maybe it's just me I don't know. I still get the people saying I could never do that like its so horrible. I just smile and say its not for everyone. There is good and bad about it. All in all it's a personal choice and you need to figure that out for your self. Good luck:-) -
Had my surgery 11/29 I started out at 252lbs and I'm down to 164. It's been quite the journey some days better then others. Over all I'm so glad I has the gastric bypass surgery. I tell everyone that it was the best choice I ever made. I feel so much better and my blood pressure is under control. I am continuing my journey:-)

Anyone Regret The Surgery?

I had my surgery a little over 6 months ago and I still am so glad I had it! I am so glad I get this opportunity to live my life as the new me! -
I had stalls on and off and I found that when I exercised my weight dropped quicker. I was so obbsesed with the scale I would get depressed if it didn't move. Now I try not to get on it so often so I don't get discouraged.

I'm six months out and I still have a hard time with bread. I have to toast it and still only eat half a sandwich.

I did the same thing. I waited till right before I went back to work to get new pants. I think I went down from a 22 to a size 18 just in the 6 weeks I was out of work! It goes so fast lol! Keep up the good work :-)

My hair started falling out also so I started to eat extra protein. The good thing was my hairdresser said i have a lot of regrowth so it is growing back. Try eating nuts they are a good source of protein too. -
Yeah that is one negative. My boobs have shrunk and they have no breast tissue. They are not pretty lol. I'm probably going to have to have them done or something cuz they are so saggy. I have to wear full figure bras to keep them in place or else they just pour out. On the bright side I did find a couple bras at Victoria secrets that fit good.

I go in spurts with the exercise. In the beginning walking is the best. I walked everyday or the gas would kill me. I would take my time and many breaks but if I didn't walk then I would be in pain. I found if I worked out he weight flew off. Now that I'm working more I have been slacking off my exercising but I need to get back into it. I did a 5k a few weeks ago. I walked most of it but ran the end. I felt great and I can't wait to do it again!

It truly is a blessing how quickly it comes off. Makes being active a lot easier once the weight is off! I'm 6 months out and wearing a size 10. It's so crazy to think that only a few months ago I was in a size 22!!!

Crazy! Anyone Else?
Melsauve replied to Ellie_Grace's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found that I was buying smaller jeans when I found them on sale also. It was something to work towards as I got smaller. Don't get me wrong I was and still am exited about getting smaller but it is still a lot to get used too! -

Just wait till you lose the weight and then you feel like you have nothing to wear. I found many morning where I was have meltdowns cuz everything was falling off me. People didn't understand they thought I was being silly. I actually missed some of my favorite clothes when I got rid of them. It made me feel better to give them to my sister who could use them. I find it fun to shop but I think I'm more critical now about my clothes then I was before. I was a size 22 and now I'm in about a 10. -
I'm taking vitamins called Bariatric Fusion. It's all the vitamins I need to take all in one. I take 2 in the am and 2 at night. They are chewable of course but they taste pretty good. My Dr suggested I take them because I was getting so sick of taking so many vitamins a day. I was always forgetting to take my calcium sense I couldn't take it the same time as my other vitamins. You can look on line for it at bariatricfusion.com

I'm new to this ap I had my surgery 11/29. I just hit my 6 month mark and it seems like my appetite has come back also. My dr also told me to drink more. He also suggested high protein snacks like nuts and hard boiled eggs. Snacking is so hard for me lately.
