Jealousy
SaltLifeClint replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jealousie is stupid. If my wife wants to run off with another man, then I am ok with that. I want her to be happy, and I want to be wanted. If she wants someone more than me, then she should go. I say that with no malice at all. I have never doubted her in 20 years of marriage, and I won't spend time/energy worrying about it. Stop the pussyfooting, and find a nice gentle decent way to tell the spouses to grow up. As for flirting in marriage: There is a definite difference between flirting and coming on to someone. If you don't know the diff, then don't flirt. Simple. -
I quit a 2 pack a day habit about ten years ago. I tried and failed so many times! I failed all but the last time! You can do it. Stats show that most people quit multiple times before it sticks. One small jedi mind trick? Don't try to quit smoking-Become a non smoker. The first takes way too long, and the second is instantatneous. BTW, The patch worked for me the last time (though I had failed with it previously).

Re: Ibuprofen, And A Few Other Questions From A Newb
SaltLifeClint posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have arthritis, and I have always taken Ibuprfen when it gets bad, but I guess that is out now. I aint interested (or medically appropriate) for/in narcotics, and I am not one for the medicinal weed (though no prob with those of you who are). So what now? I assume the pain will be better as I lose weight, but it will likely get worse as I get older, no matter the weight-so what do you all do? Also, I take Testosterone for low libido and fatigue. Have you men (or wives of men with low libido) noticed a big change post surgery? Now mind you that I am not saying that I can't have sex.....I just have no interest. It is like I am practically NON-sexual. Last question...I feel like I have lost cognitive ability over the last several years, especially lately. I don't know what is the weight, what is diet, what is the shift I work (graveyards), what is normal ageing, what is Low T and etc. Can anyone relate? -

First Post--6 Month Diet-If I Lose Weight....will Insurance Deny?
SaltLifeClint posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey all, this is my first post. I first started trying to get the GBP last year, but my insurance had a one year exclusion. I am now one month into my 6 month preoperational routine. I am supposed to lose 15 lbs, but I am afraid that If I lose that and then another 10-15 on the two week liquid diet that my insurance will deny. BUT If I do not lose the weight, then my physician will deny due to enlarged liver. IS this a catch-22 or does insurance use your STARTING BMI to approve or deny? I have BCBS of Florida (farmed out to a subinsurer called New Directions). I have two co-morbid conditions (Apnea and Gerd as well as arthritis that is not well documented). I currently have a BMI of 41 and need to lose over a hundred lbs to reach recommended BMI.
