How This Will Affect You In Old Age?
bellepink77 replied to kloveburd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know 3 people who had revisions. I'm sure they were the cause of their pouch stretching but be honest it happens people quit smoking for years and start again. Quit using drugs and alcohol and relapse it can happen to the best of us. Rest assured there are ways to help if you do stretch your pouch. I don't look down on anyone there are people on this site who ha e had revisions and you could be hurting their feelings no one is perfect. Lucky my granny isn't on this forum shed cuss you out! -

Long story short I live in tinley park but had a fire we were renting and landlord is dragging his feet with the rebuild. So we had to find a cheap place fast that would take my 2 Dobermans and 1 Rottweiler so we ended up in Gary Indiana. Temporarily I hope

Her pouches stretched so they made it smaller again. She never got "skinny" she's 5'10 and she's 160 looks great. She was 360 before surgery 215 before revision. -

My Grandma is 77 she had this surgery 20yrs ago and a revision 10 years ago. She's very active works as a chef in a nursing home. Volunteer for meals on wheels and of course she plays bridge and shuffle board every week. She cusses like a sailor too LOL. No health issues at all. Eats what she wants just smaller portions. She has no regrets -
I barely walked at all for 3 weeks. And I still don't exercise as much as I should be. I was 40lbs down at my 1st month check up last week. I don't have a gym membership yet and its been 100 degrees here. Walking at night is not safe in my neck of the woods. I'm joining a gym next week when I get paid

Six Weeks Post Op
bellepink77 replied to Ocean0527's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck at work. I'm gonna suck up a little bit more of this unemployment before I go back. My job fired me for some BS cuz they got wind of my surgery and I was gonna be off. They didn't want to switch around my classes or find a different instructor for a few weeks. Jokes on them I'm getting paid to recover -
Insurance Approved Surgery!

That's wonderful congratulations -
We all have been there before. I didn't get to 300lbs by working out and eating healthy he will have his Epiphany one day. Be supportive and make suggestions but remember how you felt when people would tell you how to get healthy when you weren't ready

I'm a stay at home mom of 4 as well. 17,13,8,&4 I'm 5 weeks post op and I'm glad I had the surgery. It was 3 weeks of recovery for me. I am still very tired after simple tasks but no more pain. I couldn't have done this without my sister husband and kids help

To Make Things A Little Easier.
bellepink77 replied to Joe.s's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I switched to diet pop 3 weeks pre op and had my last can the day before surgery I was a coca-cola addict I drank 6-8 cans a day. I thought that was gonna be the hardest thing to kick. I've only craved it once in the last 5 weeks. I love my iced green tea now. Took a sip of my husband's RC cola the other day (my 2nd choice favorite pop) and it tasted horribly sweet. I'm so happy I had this surgery -

Had such a good day outside with my kids today felt great. That is until I came in and drank a protein shake. Now I feel like crap..nauseous and crampy like diarrhea is on the horizon. I barely eat. I don't want to. No matter what it is it makes me feel yucky. I've been thru 6 different protein shakes. I'm 4 weeks out tomorrow and I feel like food is the devil! I'm starting to really regret this surgery.

Gastric Bypass Vs. Vertical Sleeve?!
bellepink77 replied to lovealways's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You lose more and keep more off with bypass. Plus you get a better "tool" with bypass. Dumping sucks but it sure keeps you from messing up. I'm scared go death to way sweets which is my biggest weakness. There's no going back from the sleeve they remove most of your stomach. I know my parts are all still there albeit a little jumbled around.
