Why you should NOT work out after WLS
frankt04 replied to Bougieb's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Personally I went from 404lbs the day of surgery down to 210lbs at 6’2” without a single minute of designated exercise. I just eat right after my Roux-en-Y. But the flip side is i have a very labor intense job so i had dense muscle already. Ladies and gents it’s important to have good muscle tone for this to work. -
bow chika wow wow

Sorry for the delay. I've worked in Beverly a few times. Small world, aside from Burlington bring the largest county in nj lol

QUESTION: If U had gastric bypass & U had 2 do all over again verses the SLEEVE would U?
frankt04 replied to cindyvirden.com's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My only issue with the sleeve is i believe it doesn't shorten the intestine, shortening the intestine allows for malabsorption witch helps for long-term success. I went from 440lbs to 210lbs and have maintained that weight for 3yrs. RNY all the way! -
Hun what procedure did you have
-
My surgeon told me that there's nothing we can do, the portion of intestine after our stomach is where we regulate fat storage & that's why he recommend RNY for me. I was eating 900cal a day and still wasn't loosing weight.

This one lady said to me "Oh you took the easy way out huh" I said "ya just like your brother did with his liver transplant" My best friend is and always has been 185lbs at 6'2" i was 440lbs at 6'2" & when we where 15yrs old (22yrs ago lol) i can remember him eatting 12 SLICES OF pizza & almost a 2litter of soda in about a 2hr period... i had 2 slices and WATER!!! Yet i was 300lbs at that time... obesity is a disease that you were predisposed to. The people who might criticise and ridicule you are uneducated and we do our brothers and sisters who are thinking of having the surgery a disservice by not educating those that may judge. When lifelong skinny people hear my story 99% are swayed from their bias beliefs that we are just lazy and they just might encourage someone they know to the miracles of modern science ... Say it loud and proud!

I Am So Angry When People Think Surgery Is The Easy Option!
frankt04 replied to Tartan-Tiger's topic in Rants & Raves
8yrs ago i as 350lbs happy healthy and out preformed guys 1/2 my weight at my physically demanding job. Then 1 day i was up on a ladder and lost feeling in my legs, i spent 2yrs a prisoner to my home. Back surgeons refused to work on me until I lost 100 pounds, naturally being immobile I only gained weight ballooning to 450lbs unemployed & depressed! Fast forward again another 6 months and I have my surgery 8/24/09 @ 425lbs. Now im 215lbs for 4yrs and holding. Well 3yrs ago this B@#*$ says to me "oh you took the easy way out" so I said to her "yeah kinda like your father who took the easy way out and got a liver transplant" that didn't go over too well... lol -

Someone once said to me "gastric bypass is taking the easy way out" To that i said "didn't you tell me you where sooo thankful your father got a liver transplant (after years of drinking)" Obesity like alcoholism is a disease. The root word of ignorance is ignore, she is ignoring your health by telling herself your having " cosmetic surgery" is a liver transplant cosmetic? -
This is what i use too, i mix it with crystal light raspberry ice

Burlington (south jersey) but i had my rny through nj Bariatric @ Princton University

I'm not condoning my actions but I drink 80-100oz of coffee a day and 60-80oz of water , I only eat dinner (haven't had an apatite since RNY 8/24/09)

The portion of intestine right after our pouch (stomach) is where sugar is metabolized before hitting the blood, only now it is dumped into the blood without being converted to usable energy.
