RNY 8/24/09 Pre surgery 440lbs Today 198 I lost the equivalent of two cheerleaders lol. Stay diligent Tim. High protein is key or your body will consume its muscle to sustain vital operations. I went 120 days on the first stage of the diet after surgery due to a GI bleed a few weeks after my RNY. THIS WAS DUE TO EATING A PIECE OF CHICKEN! The system is delicate take your time. The reason I went 120 days on liquid diet was because loosing 2 units of blood had a profound physiological effect on me to the point where I was afraid to even eat pudding lol. Good luck stay positive and ask questions no matter how silly they may sound in your head.

I've tried to come off nexium 3x and always get that yuk feeling 2-3 days out. I have no insurance @ this time and nexium is so expensive...

I'm my case I had more when I was 350lbs, my wife was a chubby chaser. Now I'm 195lbs and she says "I miss my big bear". Also I have been a garage door repairman for 20yrs now and now my customers no longer are flirty lol.

I hope they gave you injectable blood thiner's, I was unable to walk for 7 days after after I woke up from my RNY and my surgeon prescribed them to protect against clotting also those things that squeeze your calf muscles. All that and I still had complications, I lost 2 units of blood in my sleep. As a resold I was on the liquid phase for over 120days.. The only problem I have is now I don't have an excuse to fly first class!! Wife says "your flying coach slim"

I have no appetite and most food didn't sit well so I mostly due liquid protean.

I'm the big guy, the other 2 are my little brothers lol! 404lbs Half awake after surgery. 377lbs About 5-6mo after surgery. 245lbs 205lbs here, my lowest was 177lbs & @ 6'3" that's not healthy. Little guys my son.

Lol I know I cheated, I kept thinking of that one food I wouldn't get to have again, and of course the Chinese buffet!!!!!! But now it's been 3 years and I still never even feel hungry! Just don't make your self through up close to your surgery, it stresses the stomach big time, your better off to just finish what your eating and beat your self up with the guilt... Keep you head high you'll be fine!

Huh I work outside all summer sweating like a pig, 60oz coffee, 2x28oz protein shakes and 2-4 16oz water bottles no food till dinner. 8/24/09 Pre surgery 404lbs My lowest 177lbs (to thin at 6'3") Now 205lbs

Can anyone tell me why we can't have coffee or caffeine? I drink about 60oz a day.

M on nexium, I don't have insurance and it's breaking the bank! What are y'all using after RNY and is anyone not using an antacid post opp?

8/24 is my 3yr mark, gonna see my surgeon 9/25 all my bloodwork is good, so I'm gonna see about changing up the nexium to Prilosec

Huh, do you use any pain meds, 8/24/09 was my surgery. I've done well went from 404lb to 185lb holding that wait for 2yrs now. I'm on tramadol for back pain and nexium to protect my stomic against the tramadol.

I had RNY 8/24/2010. It fell off fast for me due to being only on liquids for 120+ days. 28 days after surgery I had a bleed and had to be easy on my new tummy. Mine was the 1% nightmare situation but I wouldn't change a thing. It made me respect my new digestive track.Sadly I don't exercise but I do an extremely physical job.

Pre 404lbs Now 187lbs Wow 217lbs gone 6'3" I wanted to see how thin I could get, 174lbs was the thinnest.. All my family was more scared then when I was big. Now my heavy family members & friends treat me different in a bad way. Some relationships have died completely.

Hate all the pre packaged proteins, so I use crystal light raspberry lemonade mixed with GNC's unflavored whey powder, for me it never gets old!
