I have seen several recipes both on-line and in cookbooks, but need some advice! My program recommends servings per meals versus calories/carb/fat/protein limits etc. I am not sure how to determine if a recipe meets all the requirements of if I need to add additional food items to meet my exchange requirements. For example dinner i am allowed 3 protein, 2 carb, 1 vegetable, and 1 fat exchange. Any suggestions to help fit these recipes into my life. Getting so tired of boring chicken and turkey, rice or potatoes, and a vegetable every night. I loved to cook pre-op and like variety. Thanks,

Having Problems Eating
newlife2012 replied to TinyMamiOf3kids's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I puked for the first time tonight after Salmon and Broccoli. Not sure if it was failure to chew since I don't love the taste of salmon or if it was intolerance. I proceeded to eat 1 oz of deli-meat chicken, 1 ounce of cheese, and 15 cherries about one hour later so still not sure the cause? Scared me to death so neither will be retried for a bit (6 weeks out). Prior to today I have not had a problem other than gas pains with salad. Good Luck and take it one bite at a time -
Could you share your sample. My routine is getting boring and need some ideas. Thanks, Sandy

I was a snug 26/28 pre-op and at 6 weeks I am a tight 20 bottom and 18/20 top. It is funny to stand up and nearly drop your shorts. Going to try to find a few pair this week, LOL.

I am doing Isopure. It is sweet, but not milky. It may be the milky, not the sweet driving you crazy. Also unjury sells an unflavored you can put in things as well. Just can't heat it over 130 degrees I believe. Good luck. -
You just have to do it and get through it. Hopefully your diet will advance soon. I drank warm things as they seemed to keep me satisfied longer. Hugs of support. I am with you because I can't stand the sight of Protein drinks. Milky milky = gross. Using Isopure to keep my sanity. 2 more weeks of protein sups, then it's up to me to meet the protein needs with three square meals a day. Good luck :-)

I was told the pill was not effective. I kept with my iud and also pregnancy was out for at least 2 years. We had to sign a contract to that effect due to the Vitamin deficiencies. My sister is four years out and just had a healthy baby so it is possible... Be careful :-)

Just Broke Out In Tears
newlife2012 replied to nomorefat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First week is definitely the worst. Was convinced I had made a horrible mistake. Then on day seven I told myself it was the turning point. The internal swelling would be going down and I would be able to drink more. I began walking in 10 minute bursts outside. At the Weeks 10 minutes feel like nothing. Be patient and hopeful, it will get better. Here is a big cyber hug for you... Hang in there! -
Anyone Regret The Surgery?

As my surgeon says... if you eat right and exercise YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT... your husband is wise and sounds very supportive :-) Keep telling yourself you own that scale and you will take it back. Not moving is also better than moving in the wrong direction coming from the same person that is letting the scale get her down over a 2 pound weight gain and I know it can't be right given what I am eating.
-
Wondering if the scale isn't moving because you are gaining the muscle back that was lost?? Thanks for the encouragement. New to this site and trying to gain motivation from successful individuals like you :-)

Yes, I am only 3 weeks post-op and am stuck as well. My surgeon refers to hybernation syndrome in our education book. I think I am there whichis very discouraging given I eat 500-700 cals a day. Keep to it and it will break they assure me. Kudos to you on all the exercise. It is all I can do to walk 30-45 minutes. You are a rock star!!!!

Good luck... just remember to walk!!!
