Loli - glad to hear I'm not the only one. This is such a personal decision yet affects everything about our families and families to be. I truly hope this gets everything going for you as far as having a family -

Help...i Temptation Got The Best Of Me Today :(
Beachbum replied to Lolipop86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Loli - my surgery is the Thurs too - same procedure. I started pre- op diet a little early because I had a grad party sat and fathers day yesterday. Had a beer, sangria, and one plate of food Sat and some Chinese and a glass of wine last night. Fully back on track as of this morning though. My goal weight for the day of surgery is 371. I weighed Sat morning and was 370 so I'm confident that I will be all set for Thurs as long as I keep on plan. My pre-op diet is slimfast for bfast and lunch, hard boiled egg or cheese stick for snacks, and a lean cuisine for dinner. -
Cooking For Your Family Before And After Surgery
Beachbum replied to AnnMarie49930's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 3 & 4 year old with picky palates so it's fruits, yogurts, spaghetti, nuggets, etc. For my husband, I made up some favorites then froze in portions. I also plan to make things such as a pot of spaghetti and meatballs that he can eat from for a few days. If he wants something else, he can either cook his own dinner or get take out. I think he is planning to eat bigger lunches at work and have a lighter dinner. My 8 month old will be on a similar diet as me LOL. Takes him about 20 minutes to eat 3 oz of blended food so he'll be my company at mealtime -
Whoa!! 23 lbs in a week? Was it the first week? That is amazing!!

Not until I get back on that pill . While many SMO women have fertility issues, I get pregnant very easily. 3 kids in 4 years! -

Cramping In My Hands Since Surgery
Beachbum replied to morist's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had something similar in my third pregnancy - they called it pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. It's due to shifting weight and fluid pressure on the nerves. For the last month of it, I had no sensation in my hands or lower arms. It resolved shortly after delivery. I wonder if how you are carrying yourself/shifting of fluid etc is impacting your nervous system. Acupuncture was suggested to me but I could mother comfortable in any position for more than a few minutes. Good luck - it is very uncomfortable and unsettling -
Heightened Sense Of Smell After Surgery
Beachbum replied to disneynut02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it could be hormonal. In each of my 3 pregnancies, my sense of smell was in overdrive. I could barely handle going into restaurants - too many odors! I found it helpful to carry some lotion I like and put it under my nose. That helped -
I was told natural carbs (from fruit / veg) are ok but carbs from added sugar are not. Fiber also counteracts some carbs so you subtract fiber from total carb count to get net carbs. Keep in mind that total carbs are for full servings so if something has 10 carbs on 10 ounces, it is 2 carbs per 2 oz serving. Hope that helps.

Surgery Thurs - Woke Up With A Cold!
Beachbum posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My whole family has colds. Scratchy throat, runny nose, pressure. My surgery is in 5 days and I am PRAYING this clears up so it doesn't get rescheduled !!! -
It will be here before you know it! Use the time to eat sensibly and exercise but also have a favorite meal ( not everyday and in moderation of course) because as the date gets closer you won't be able to have splurges.

Mine is 2 slimfast shakes, 2 snacks of either a hard boiled egg or cheese stick and a Lean Cuisine for dinner. The worst is the dinner - not a fan.

Wow! You must feel awesome!

Me too!!!! I was just thinking about this time next week in the hospital. Good luck!!

Any Other Husband And Wives Rny Together?
Beachbum replied to cutiepieme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the baby bullet. The cups hold 2 oz and you can set the date you made the food. You can buy a pack of 6 containers separately. Comes with a great fridge tray too -
My Surgery is next Thursday and I'm planning ahead a little bit thinking about how to manage clothing. I wear a 28/30 now and have a few things that are 22/24. Thinking about Savers or thrift shops and drawstring pants. It was surreal to donate all of my winter clothes last week !!!! Also, has anyone dropped shoe sizes? My feet are 2 different sizes after carrying 3 babies and 375 lbs!

I am planning to use some baby food fruits and vegetables, especially if I'm not home. Add some protein powder and there you go! My surgery center also suggests 98% fat free cream soups. I picked up some cartons today so you can pour the right amount vs opening a can. Hope that gives you some ideas -
How Are You Handling Clothes?
Beachbum replied to Beachbum's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My highest weight was in October of 2011. The day I gave birth to my youngest I weighed 420. I'm now 375 and kind of stuck there, hence the need for this surgery. I think the hardest thing will be caring for my 3 small children and getting used to my new appearance. -

Water Help/suggestions
Beachbum replied to angelsmiln's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A friend of mine had this same issue. She would suck on an ice cube or rinse her mouth with water. She would brush her teeth too but not after every "meal" because it would be too much to brush 6x a day
