Omg! I Finally Did It!
Beachbum replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Vavavoom!! -
Took a 45 minute stroll with a 5 min stop in the middle. Got in 36oz of water/diet snapple. Managed 5 meals 2oz of cottage cheese, protein shake, yogurt, potato and leek soup, and another protein shake. Made dinner for my family too. Meatballs and ziti. That was tough but I drank my soup while preparing then brushed my teeth and rinsed with listerine. Haven't taken anything for pain since 10pm last night. All in all - a great day!

What All Do I Need For Right After My Surgery?
Beachbum replied to Cheryl Barfoot's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I brought a small bottle of hand sanitizer, a bottle of my favorite lotion, babywipes, and earplugs. If you have a roommate, it could get noisy. I was constantly woken up by a telemetry monitor outside my room. -
Random Things To Look Forward To...
Beachbum posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just saw a commercial for a new roller coaster at a local amusement park. Haven't been on one in at least 10 years... - sitting in a chair with arms and not having them dig into me - shopping for clothes in a store, not online - wearing cute shoes ( currently my left foot is an 11w and my right foot is a 10w LOL - riding comfortably on a plane Just some of the things I am thinking about -
My plan for clothes is to buy cheap packs on undies at stores like Target. Bra wise - maybe you can get more time out of a sports bra? Happy it's summer and I can wear maxidresses and drawstring capris/shorts. Plan to hitet Goodwill and Savers for in between clothes. Looking forward to buying a great wardrobe when I get to where I want to be

Pre-surgery, I liked the WW icecream sandwiches and skinny cow too. Didn't really like other WW icecream products. Skinny cow fudgebars are good too. Not sure if it's good post op though

It's 4am and I'm wide awake. Have to be at hospital at 6am. Got my eyes on the prize but a little nervous. Dropped my babies off with grandparents last night and missing them terribly but I know that this will give me a better and longer life with them. I'm so happy to have found this space for inspiration, understanding, and knowledge. You've all been wonderful!

Had surgery Thurs and everything went well. First day was hard - lots of painful gas. Feeling better and hoping to go home in a few hours

At mybariatricpantry.com, you can order sample packs of Syntrax nectars, matrix, and a third one I can't think of at the moment. Just type in sample packs on the main page. I like the nectars with cold water and a lot of ice- mixed and shaken. Tried my immersion blender but it got frothy on top and didn't like that. I like that blender for chocolate flavors. I also like carb control EAS. Tried a couple of kinds before surgery and liked that best. Good luck!

Hi everyone! Having my surgery tomorrow at Newton- Wellesley with Dr. Partridge. So excited but a little nervous about dealing with the recovery and three small children. Tonight will be tough as I drop them off with grandparents. They wiling well cared for and have fun on their "vacation" but I will miss them! Thinking about inexpensive transition clothes. Anyone checked out Savers or Goodwill in Framingham?

Anyone Else Just Barely Still In Thirties?
Beachbum replied to Txsmama's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm 38 and looking forward to being healthy before 40. I've been overweight for the first half if my life! Looking forward to a longer and happier second half -
I'm Thurs too - cheers (raising a sippy cup of water) to us!!

Thanks for sharing everyone - I had tried to time my surgery appropriately but with the stress, etc. I'm feeling crampy and my surgery is 2 days away. Praying my period doesn't start before surgery or in the hospital. So awkward at hospital . And I usually retain 6-8 lbs of bloat before and I'm scared to death that it will look like I gained and the surgeon won't do it

What Did I Do Wrong?

Talk about adding insult to injury! Feel better soon!! -
I too was told once incisions are closed. A concern us that your skin softens up when you soak in water so even rounds that seem closed could pucker. They advised short amounts of time after about 2 weeks - no hot tubs for awhile for same reason and you can get lightheaded very fast from high temp

Advice And Suggestions For The Spouse
Beachbum replied to barkatt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow - so nice to hear how you are trying. My husband does not agree with my decision even though I weigh 375 lbs today and weighed 420 the day our son was born. Support and understanding all the way. Your wife is blessed -
Tomorrow Is My Surgery!
Beachbum replied to fluffylady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for sharing your story. So sorry you went through all that. My biggest worry in all this is dealing with my children and somehow hurting myself. I will have another adult with me almost all of the time for the first two weeks but I don't want to get too comfortable and then do too much -

Mami - 3 pregnancies in four years messed with my feet. I also broke an ankle 12 years ago si I compensate with the good foot. Fenway should have topped my list. We have so many opportunities to go due to season tickets in the family and a relative who works for an affiliate. Love love love going but often pass because I sit on the very edge of the seat. -
Hi everyone I've been watching this sight for about a month and am ready to join in. My surgery is June 21. I can't wait but a little nervous about recovery and caring for my 3 little ones (ages 4, 3 & 7 mos). I have a lot of help but am still concerned. Any advice/ similar situations? I did have 3 c-sections with easy recoveries. My surgeon said this would be easier

My surgery is in a couple of days. I've been thinking about this process for a couple of years and got it started in January of this year. My close famy and friends have been very supportive but my husband hadn't said much. Last night he tells me that he doesn't think it's a good idea but he really doesn't care because I've made my mind up. I said, I'm not asking for your permission but I would appreciate your support. His response was a shrug and "whatever". I think he's nervous and a bit jealous ( he's 50lbs overweight) and worried that HIS way of life will be affected. Did anyone else go through this? Suggestions? Thanks - I'm worried we will become a statistic

Beachbum replied to aleyampat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amazing!! It took me 2 months to lose 20 lbs on weight Watchers. Imagine losing that in less than 2 weeks! -
I buy a lot of clothes online since the plus selection in many stores has three styles in 10 colors. Can't wait to walk into a store and have options!! High end, low end, even Target LOL
