I am a 45 year old wife and mother of 6 and a grandmother of 1.My children range from 11 to 23 and three of them are married.  I am active in my church and between my church and family I am kept grounded and busy. On 12-12-12  I will have been married to my sweetheart for 25 years.

I am a clinical social worker at a state hospital working with sex offenders. I am working on obtaining my license so I can become a licensed clinical social worker to expand my career options.

As far as my weight history goes I have been overweight since around the age of 14 and throughout my teen years I weighed close to 200 pounds.  I lost 50 pounds, married my husband then had the children. I added 50 pounds with my first child and then just added with each one.  My final 20 pounds came from grad school and that was where I have sat for awhile.

I am ready to become healthy and enjoy a life that fits my dreams instead of making my life fit the pains and aches and limitations of my current body and health. My other reason for wanting the surgery is to reduce my risk of getting cancer. I have a sister dying of cancer right now and three other female family members that have been disagnosed with cancer over the past 20 years and the dr. assures me that this surgery will lower my risk.
