Got my date... now questions
Debbs27 replied to MileHighGreen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Place things where you can easily reach them, wear shoes that you can slide on as bending is a little painful for the first few days. Good Luck! -
Have a date need help with some questions please
Debbs27 replied to MileHighGreen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Place things where you can easliy reach them, wear shoes that you can slide on. I was too sore to bend or reach for about 5 days so anything that fell on the floor stayed there untill I could have someone to pick them up for me. I live alone also but had someone stay with me for a week, I couldn't have done it alone. Good luck - keep in touch! -
Hi Anne3, Welcome! My procedure was with minimal pain, I was sore at the port site for about 5 days but the pain was relieved with tylenol. I was discharged from the hospital with pain medication that I took for the first 3 days then switched to the tylenol. I am already back at work. Good luck on your journey - keep in touch! Debbie

QUESTION about pain from port and hunger! Banded Oct. 31!
Debbs27 replied to Mysticalks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Kara, I was banded October 22 and I too had port pain. Sounds like yours was much worse then mine, anyway the nurse told me a heating pad would help - it did! Give it a try. Debbie -
Good luck to both of you - I wish you a speedy recovery. It is true - it only gets better. I'm 11 days out and almost feeling like myself. The heating pad really did help me. Debbie
-
Congratulations! The pain will slowly subside and you will begin to feel better each day. I am 11 day's out and almost feel back to normal - in fact I'm returning to work on Monday.

Has anyone been banded by Dr. Pupkova at Barix Clinics in Langhorne?
Debbs27 replied to cherrybomb4949's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I live in Yardley PA and checked on the Bariatrix Center in Langhorne - at the time only 1 surgeon was performing lapband, when I checked to see how many were performed he had only done 2. Not nearly enough for me to feel safe. -

Being Banded Tomorrow!
Debbs27 replied to nessa3678's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Nessa, Good luck tomorrow! Some of the things I found helpful was to wear slide on shoes (I couldn't bend for about 6 days) and a small pillow to put close to you while wearing your seat belt. A heating pad was also helpful. Let me now how you make out! -
You shouldn't let ignorant people like that (and there are loads of them) upset you - just keep motivated and take care of yourself. You have made a choice to change by choosing the this tool that will allow you to flaunt your success the next time you see her! Good luck with your surgery!
-
Good luck, you will do just fine. I had the same feelings but the day after surgery I knew I could do this and you can too!

How do you "doctor" your cottage cheese?
Debbs27 replied to crikkit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi crikit, Try eating the cottage cheese with blenderized fruit, peaches, pineapple etc. I look forward to having some myself! -
I was banded on 10/22/07 and am doing good on the liquids and I' not hungry at all but I really miss chewing. I don't chew gum so I'll have to wait until the soft food stage.

Please help me with protiens!!!
Debbs27 replied to Bamalama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Mollybrown, I can't stand the taste of the protien either. I went to my local GNC and purchased Isopure in 6 different flavors. I haven't tried it yet but the sales person said it wasn't bad but is better if kept really cold. Good luck with your pre-op diet! Debbie Banded 10/22/07 - Dr. Noel Williams - University of Penn :whoo: -
Hi, I was banded on Monday October 22 - and I have 5 as well. I was told I would have 5 - so it's normal.
-
I was just in for my last visit before banding on Monday - during the nutrition class we were told to expect the sense of taste and smell to be hightened. Sweets will be sweeter and smells will be stronger. I didn't ask why the surgery causes this issue.
-
Hi All, I too will be banded on October 30, 2007 at the University of Penn Hospital by Dr. Noel Williams. I am both scared and excited, I look forward to a new healthier me! I am will be 51 in November but don't think it will be an issue. I welcome your support as I begin my journey!
