I wouldnt change a thing, just wished that I did it sooner. Still getting the pain primary dr said its not my heart and lungs are clear. Going to GBP dr and nutrionist tomorrow so hopefully I will get some answers. I had my gallbladder out on 05/17/12. Other than that no major issues.

WOW!! DL you are doing incredible. I am a female, 4' 11". My goal weight is 130 lbs. The nutrionist keeps telling me I am on schedule to be down to 150 by september. Honestly the way I have been feeling lately I highly doubt it. I do have other health issues to which I am wondering if tbey are affecting my weight loss. I had brain surgery 7 yrs ago to remove a left frontal lobe AVM, I also had a lumbar peritoneal shunt placed in my back that drains into my peritoneal (I have a condition called benign intracranial pressure/pseudotumor cerebrei. The shunt relieves the pressure in my head, its like having a 24/7 spinal tap). I have a chronic headache 24/7 that bever goes away, its just depends on how bad it gets as the day goes on, I also have some balance issues and memory issues. I was on high blood pressure meds for years and my primary dr lowered my dose two months ago and on the 13th took me off it. Yay!

The last 4 days my protein has been between 97-120 grams. My starting weight was 288 lbs, I am now down to 178 - 183 lbs. I am averaging 3+ miles walking a day. My carbs stay below 60 grams a day. I talked to the nutrionist a few weeks ago and told her what was going on, she told me not to worry the 5 lbs were probably water weight. But for weeks? Been doing a lot of exercising the last few days, walking on the beach, playing in the ocean, riding a bike, pulling weeds etc. and still changing up the exercise did nothing. I know I am developing muscle anduscle weighs more than fat. But I am so frustrated. I will take any help or advice I can get.

Odiemom, so sorry to hear that you were having a hard time. I can sympathize I had a period of a few months where I couldn't tolerate protein shakes. Then when my gallbladder started I could not eat regular food and tried going back to them and I was fine. But when I try to eat no sugar added ice cream or carb smart with 30-60 minutes I get the diarrhea, I know it's dumping syndrome. Nutritionist told me its the sugar alcohol. Somedays I don't have a bowel movement other days I have diarrhea. I eat mostly regular food also, but I try to like you said nutritious food. I can't tolerate breads, pork or fatty types of meat. I can tell u things do get easier as time goes on. Just be patient, that's the key!

I had my GBP on 11/21/11 and my gallbladder removed on 5/17/12. The pains I am getting are just below the breast bone and feels like a brick laying there or like someone had a vice grip squeezing. I know it's not food cause I have had four attacks in the past 2 weeks and three of them have happen while I was asleep. I wake up in pain and get something to eat like some nuts and the pain subsides. Been to my primary dr and he checked not a heart attack. Talked to the nutritionist and she said could be an ulcer. I have an appt with the GBP dr next week.

Has anyone suffered from pain in their chest just below the breasts? The pain feels like someone is holding a brick there or squeezing it in a vice grip?

I ordered mine from Costco online. It's titanium and says....LP SHUNT, GASTRIC BYPASS, PSUEDOTUMOR CEREBRI. My surgeon didn't recommend it but my GP and neurosurgeon did. Cost was about $40. -
I had GBP on 11/21/11. My highest weight was 288, down to 207 now. Been having pain in the right side of my abdomen for over 2 weeks. Had a cat scan on Thurs, found that I have gallstones. Same surgeon is going in on the 14th to remove the gallbladder. Trouble is I am having trouble tolerating solid foods, it brings on an attack. Now I am back on liquid diet. My weight loss has stalled the past few weeks. Has anyone had issues with gallbladder problems? Did your weight loss pick up again? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
