That's absurd Motrin for a hysterectomy, I had mine in April 2013 and dr gave me Percocet. Wth? Definately get a new OB/Gyn. I too have been having pains in my stomach right below the breast bone, feels like pressure and twisting. The pains have been coming and going for over a year now. My bariartic dr kept saying it was a hernia but I switched drs and the new dr feels that it's an ulcer. Trying to get me in with GI dr for a endoscopy ASAP and started me on carafate 4 times a day and nexium twice a day. Only been on it the meds since Halloween but definately feel better. Your symptom sound similar worth getting it checked out.

I have it and love it. It tracks sleep and activity. It's syncs directly to my fitness pal. You can add friends as teamates to encourage you move more. You can set goals such as a goal to walk 10,000 steps a day, it will let you know know how close you came to reaching that goal.

It's a fitness band that you wear like a bracelet it tracks your steps and sleep. You can log your workouts. It's gives you a more accurate calorie burned count. You can wear it 24/7 even in Water. I love mine, it's great. It pushes me to hit 10,000 steps daily and I have teammates that encourage me daily.

Are you working out? Focusing on your protein? What is your calorie intake? In order to gain weight you need to take in 3500 calories daily. Call your dr and nutritionist, talk with them.

If you want pasta such as spaghetti, penne, elbow Mac etc. there is a brand called Dreamfields. It is made especially for diabetics. A normal serving of pasta has around 42 g of carbs. This pasta has 5 g net carbs per serving. Tastes just like regular pasta. Enjoy!

Hungry and worried! Help!
jewels1223 replied to beth423's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand low blood sugar problems. I have had 3 blood tests done since my surgery to check my levels from CBC to blood sugar. All 3 tests came back with low blood sugar, each one lower than the last. I found these bars called EXTEND, they are meant to keep you blood sugar stable for at least 9 hours. I show my dr and he said great, that I should eat them at least once or twice a day to keep my blood sugar stable. The bars only have 1 net carb, 11 protein and 150 calories. Check them out! Hope it helps! -
I need some help...
jewels1223 replied to worm2872's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi honey! I see what you are eating on MFP and you are doing great. Keep doing it! Just remember to get your protein, water and exercise in daily. Remember at some point our bodies need to catch up to the changes our brain is making. The slower the weight loss the less saggy skin you will have. I have had many stalls through out this, I have been on one now for two months and it is very, very frustrating. Try setting up small manageable goals for yourself. I set a goal that I want to compete in a 5k, I walked my first one in April and now have done 7 or 8 more. Every time I aim to beat the time of my last one. Now I have set my goal to be able to run more than half this spring. Find a exercise class that you REALLY REALLY like, the people and the instructor will keep you motivated and on point. If you like music and dance try Zumba. Remember slow and steady wins the race. My dr has a plague on his wall, that he says helps describes us.... LIFE ISN'T ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF. LIFE IS ABOUT CREATING YOURSELF. -

Hi -
I found a alcohol free wine called FRE it's made by Sutter Homes. The have 6 different flavors, such as Red Blend and Moscato. I bought it for the holidays, it was very good. Best part was not as many calories as regular wine, an 8 oz glass of the red blend has 70 calories.

If your seriously jonesing for rice there is a great alternative and that is "faux rice". It's is grated up cauliflower. Looks just like rice when grated up. I have made fried rice using that and you add protein by scrambling an egg into it. There are so many different recipes check them out on line.

Hungry and worried! Help!
jewels1223 replied to beth423's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's totally normal to be feeling that way. I am 14 months out and feel that way often, but then there are other times where I hardly eat anything. I have trained myself to eat every 2-3 hours and trust me when I say my body will let me know. Choose healthy foods, no junk. It's is very hard to stretch your pouch, you would need to seriously over eat to do so and that would really hurt. I have heard of a test called the 5 day pouch test, supposedly it works. I have never tried it but I know you can search it online. Hope this helps in reassuring you that you are great! -
hypoglycemic episode
jewels1223 replied to mrsblues's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are these new bars called EXTEND. They are not meant for hypoglycemia episodes but they do help to maintain a normal blood sugar level for up to 9 hours. Try those to keep your sugar levels normal. -

I am almost a year out on 11/21. Saw my nutrionist and dr on Friday. They told me to stay around 1000 calories a day, minimum 60 gr of protein, maximum of 60 carbs and at least an hour of exercise daily. For every extra hour of exercise add 20 gr of protein. As of Friday I was down 136 lbs in less than a year. So its working for me.
