    Tomorrow Is The Big Day!

Sending positive energy your way!!!! You will rock it out!!!
  6. Has anyone else had the On-Q pain ball placed during surgery? My surgeon said once it had flattened out I could take the dressings off and remove it... It has two tiny tubes that go into one of the incisions. It is empty so last night I decided to take it out prior to my shower... I got the dressings off but when I went to pull the tiny lines, I felt faint. It took me quite a while to feel well enough to get into the shower and I didn't end up pulling them... Has anyone taken theirs out that has any input? I don't want to wait until next Friday when I have my drain pulled to finally have then out...

    4 Days Post-Op... On-Q Pain Ball Removal

I was instructed by the surgeon to do so... And after many hours of psyching myself into it, I did
  8. I live near Kings Island too!! Well, I'm about a half hour away closer to Cincinnati but my husband works off of the same exit as KI. We were there today just for a little while to activate our gold passes. I'm 5 days post-op so I'm taking things slowly. My youngest is 4 so I mostly stood around with him in lines and walked. It was exhausting but I've been told the first two weeks are the worst!

    4 Days Post-Op... On-Q Pain Ball Removal

Thank you everyone! I was able to remove it- I think it was just the creepy aspect as mentioned before- not unlike the Black Swan movie... Those tiny lines were over a foot under the skin so they kept coming. They are out now though, do feel more human... Next stop is Friday's JP removal

    Tuesday Morning

Thank you all I'm home now, post-op day 4... Sore but surviving
  14. I have been working toward this for so long and now that I have the approval letter in hand and my final Pre-op appt scheduled, it is feeling so real. I have felt like a prisoner in my body, bound by weight that couldn't be conquered and now I know that in a matter of weeks, I'll have a surgery that will help to retrain me to eat properly and finally shed this burden. I am looking so forward to a day when I can go to an amusement park without fear of being told I'm too big to ride. I am so grateful that I will have assistance in shedding theses pounds before my little boys are old enough to get teased about how fat their mommy is. I am anxiously awaiting the day when getting dressed in the morning or for a night out with friends is a fun thing and not stressful because everything is too tight or too small. Most of all I grateful that I am getting this aspect of my life under control before I was attacked by diabetes, hypertension and the other obesity comorbidities I've feared. This is going to be such an amazing, life changing blessing and I'm humbled and grateful it is happening to me.

    Hi! I'm Hollie!

I am a 34 year old wife and mother of two amazing little boys. I'm also a full time student. I've been battling my weight for the majority of my adult life and about seven years ago I attempted to have surgery approved through my insurance company however they repeatedly asked for another 6 months of physician supervised diet/exercise program completion and by the time I had completed it yet again, my family moved. Well, fast forward a few moves and the birth of another child and a handful more programs and I decided last year to attempt preauthorization yet again... Well, after a 90 day multidisciplinary program and a lot of waiting, last Friday I was approved! Now I'm just waiting for my final pre-op appointment to be scheduled so we can move forward with the surgery! I'm excited, nervous and anxious to move on to this next chapter of my life without food and my weight having control my life.
