Tonight I would really like to have a cocktail with the girls I could really use help choosing what to have and what has worked for others? I was thinking an ounce of vodka mixed with some crystal light? Any tips would be helpful....thanks

OK...I have been ordering all sorts of sample packets and bags trying to find a flavor I actually enjoy. I really love this one...it tastes exactly like nestle quick strawberry milkshake. I use 8 oz. Of Almond Breeze milk ( its sugar free fat free soy free and lactose free) use the vanilla flavor unsweetened at 40 cals per cup, and mix a scoop of the Nectar strawberry mousse and blend with a few fresh strawberry bits and top with sugar free fat free cool whip! Yummy! What a great dessert surprise at the end of the day when I was behind on my protein! This is a keeper. =)

Girly Question ......birth Control Choice?
Erin posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm torn between the mini pill, depo shot, and my Obgyns recommendation of Mirana IUD? Has anyone tried any of these and any good or bad experiences? Thanks =) -
I officially can't wear my size 24 silver jeans anymore....just too big along with other things I once spent so much money on. Is everyone just donating these items or keeping them "just in case" . I really want to keep them but is that setting me up for failure? They were just soooo damn expensive!

Addiction Swapping Just Might Be Real....lol
Erin posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think its happening.....I officially have swapped out food for shopping. All my free time is spent online shopping! Yesterday I bought a $500 handbag....I really can't afford! And this mining I'm at the computer looking for new things that make me " feel good" . Yesterday my reasoning for the purchase was just " I deserve it!" I didn't need it at all. And I seem to justify other purchases because I have a coupon.....lol. my credit card company called today to verify if my card was stolen...lol! Hmmm.....red flag? Today I'm promising myself to not look online anymore..and not to enter any stores! Anyone else having the signs of a shopping addiction? Lol -
I have the same issues. Love bread.....hate exercise. And I'm home all day too. Wished you lived closer! I try to eat low Carb, or just keep it to a piece of toast in the morning or wheat thins with tuna for lunch. Its hard because recently on my Trader Joe's shopping trip I found some yummy almond biscotti with a chocolate drizzle that only had 3 sugar, and 4 gms fat! That bag was gone in two days! God it was yummy with my coffee.......but that was my big relapse! Just like how I used to eat before surgery! As soon as I found a super yummy cookie like thing covered in chocolate that I actually could have ........I way overdid it! I was so disappointed in myself. And for exercise because I am currently awaiting a decode spinal fusion it kills to exercise. I can only handle about three times a week on my glider. Then its a heating pad and pain pills for the next 12 hours!

This hair loss is unreal! I take all my regular vitamins, and on top of that I went out and bought all the extras....biotin, silica, mag, even the shampoo Nioxin at $50 bucks a bottle! ( I was scared because I have super thin hair to begin with!) But nothing slows it or stops it! I mean it is like nothing I have ever seen before! I stopped combing it months ago after I saw what I lost in the comb! I don't do my hair at all anymore till this nightmare is over! When I wash it once a week now......I just "pet" the shampoo on and then gently rinse. I never thought it could be this bad! No joke....it looks like a German Sheppard rubbed against me every time I look down at my shirt! When I talk hair is always in my mouth.....my pillow is covered.....and I'm wearing a hair pin when I cook! I thought maybe I'm not absorbing the vitamins even as well as adream normal gastric bypass patient so I started doubling my biotin....nope. I'm so scared ........but there is nothing I can do. I've decided to start looking at hair extentions and wigs fir when this terrible part is over. It just sucks cause as soon as you loose a bit of weight to start feeling good.....you just want start dressing better and doing your hair......and you can't cause there's not much left! OK. I'm done venting and bitching. Sry

Yes I started out with the 60....but when the hair loss started I started taking 80. There's just nothing. Just prayer now.....lol

Diabetic recipes will serve you well. Its pretty much just a healthy low fat low simple Carb low cholesterol and sodium diet. Pretty healthy and well rounded for all!
-
Be careful with the high sugar alcohol ......itsa just like sugar for us. I like the bars called pure protein....they are really good and the plain chocolate has 20 protein, 2 sugar, 4 sugar alcohol.

Yeah, I regret the tats I had when I was younger. It cost me a fortune to have a small heart lasered away. No new tats for me! Lol
-
Skinny cow has a ton of sugar.....its so misleading. Blue bunny is good and also for a treat every now and then basking Robbins has low sugar fat free ice cream. But our serving size is a 2 0z. Child scoop which I feel pretty lucky to have! Lol

Just thought I would share a happy moment......last week I took a leap and ordered a bra online from Victoria Secret. It fits perfect! Never in my entire life have I ever bought "pretty" bras " at the Victoria Secret! It was always Lane Bryant!!! Yay! Three months post op and I'm doing my happy dance!!!!

Thanks everyone! I was a size 44 DD .....and three months post op I'm now able to wear a 38 DD!! I haven't tried new panties yet but I think I'm going to have to really soon. Now that I know the bra fit out if the catalog I'm not embarrassed to go inside the store....lol. I hope they sell briefs because unfortunately the tummy skin needs to be held firm into something. Lol. ( I know gross huh?) All I can say is I'm for sure buying those slimpressions shapewear after the summer.

Question.....matrix Sustained Release Protein Powder?
Erin posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
OK today I just found out my antidepressant isn't doing any good since it was a sustained release tablet. Grrrr......(stupid PCP) And I was just making my protein shake for today and noticed it says Matrix 5.0 sustained release formula? Is this the same principle? I would just cry if I have been drinking this all month and no nutrients are being absorbed? Anyone drink this too? -
Weight Loss Has Picked Up! 10 Lbs This Week!
Erin posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
OK....I'm in shock! Finally after a slow start I hit a total weight loss (since surgery) of 50 pounds in three months! For a grand total of 75 pounds including pre-op diet! Its a miracle! I wish I had done this years ago! God, I just want to cry when I think of all the years I tried so hard to just get off 30 lbs!! Today was special because I found out I no longer have to shop in the plus size!!!! I think I was in grade school the last time I bought a shirt in a "normal" woman's department! Wow! What an amazing surgery!!!! ( in shock) -
Girly Question ......birth Control Choice?
Erin replied to Erin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Years before surgery I had only tried Depo. I really didn't care about the weight gain, now I do...lol. So I think I've pretty much ruled that one out. My doctor gave me the mini pill to try but she said she had little faith in it and really recommends that Mirena IUD. I'm just so scared of having something implanted. But it would be worse if the mini pill was ineffective...lol! I am such a baby when it comes to pain, but I have to ask......did the actual placement of the device hurt? Can you feel it everyday? Is it uncomfortable? What about the side effects? It says possible hair loss....lol....=0 .....more loss? Ugh! Did that happen to anyone? -
Feeling Like My Weight Is Slow.....what Do You Think?
Erin posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 11 weeks post-op and just reached 40 pounds lost since my date of surgery weight. 60 pounds if you include pre-op diet. It seems like alot of videos and blogs say that at this time they have lost a good 20+ pounds more than me. Maybe I'm not doing all I could be? I do everything my surgeon has said. I'm just so afraid I'm not going to reach my goal weight in time. Im kinda wishing I should have had the duodenal switch.....they say it has greater weight loss outcomes, but there was no surgeon that performed that surgery here. Anyone else feel like its moving slow? And have you found any tips on maximizing weight loss. I have 100 pounds to go to not be " overweight". Any tips? -
OK ....so I'm 7 weeks out and starting my "soft" food month. The instruction packet says well toasted toast on one page. On another it says avoid bread? Lol. Has anyone had problems with toast or a bite if bagel?
-
I know this is gross but......wow! I am having the worst bad breath the past few weeks! I mean my mouth tastes like a dog took a do-doo in it! Even when I breathe through my nose I can smell it! Gum, mouthwash, and brushing every hour does nothing! I wasn't aware of this effect.....but after reading a few blogs I can see its pretty common and understand why. BUT DAMN! I was wondering if anyone going through this has a better remedy? Please dear god tell me this won't last!
-
Its started and I was really hoping to be one of the lucky ones....lol. But I noticed MANY strands all over my clothes, brush, drain.....I wouldn't be so concerned if my hair wasn't already thin. So after reading some blogs I ran out and bought the most promising talked about items,......Nioxin hair care, biotin tabs (obviously my chewy bites aren't helping) and silica tabs. I also increased my protein.....side my surgeon recommended 60 and others say 80 figured it couldn't hurt. Does anyone have any other suggestions that helped them? Thanks
