Heightened Sense Of Smell After Surgery
disneynut02 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have hardly had any sense of smell for about 15 years and now all of the sudden after surgery on Tuesday I am hypersensitive to all smells now. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, did it last? I hate it, all of the whey Protein smells so bad that I can't drink it anymore. I just had surgery on Tuesday and have a long way to go. Thanks, -
have to lose 50 lbs in 2lbs in 2 mnths or no surgery any advice
disneynut02 replied to Danielle85's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My thing about losing before surgery is, if you could lose weight without surgery...you wouldn't need surgery....right!! I only had to lose 15 pounds in 6 months and I barely could do that. Be careful and good luck! -
Any post ops that HAD sleep apnea?
disneynut02 replied to Jaemes12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to stop using mine within 4 weeks after surgery. The pressure was too much and I didn't have an auto pap. Insurance wouldn't let me get one without going through all the hoops so I have not been using it and feel fine! Good luck -
When will i feel normal again.
disneynut02 replied to celebrate*me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only got sick a few times in the beginning, every once in a while I feel like I might get sick.... I think in a few more weeks it will get better, everyone is different, I think you just need time and try to be positive! Good luck! -

Amen to that! -
Thanks for the support! This forum has been a big help from the beginning, there are so many wonderful people, it's a shame we can't all meet!

I am 8 months out and just recently started being very emotional, not too sad, just on the verge of crying! Often! Happy and sad things, not sure if it's the surgery or just life happening. My daughter will be graduating from college, bought a new outfit to wear. Sad, she will be far from home for grad school. Very sick Aunt, dealing with my Mom which this is her last living sibling. I really hope it's just those type things that are causing this helpless, emotional feeling!

how long were you off work
disneynut02 replied to Amanda R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was off 9 days, no problems. Desk job, 4 10 hr days. -
I still have a protein shake most morning's, the trick is to make it a little different each day. Chocolate thick like a frosty, berry or peach. Heck for thanksgiving, I made a pumpkin one. Not something I could drink often, it tasted just like a cold pumpkin pie with whipped cream. It was a mind thing! I just find shakes are easier and give me lots more protein to kick start my day. It's just a mind set, you can do anything you set your mind too! Good luck!

I have NO regrets! I feel amazing, I don't get sick with vomiting or diarrhea and I know people who do everyday. Which is from making very poor choices. I did puree some things, of course it's almost forgotten now. Kinda like during and after giving birth, you swear you'll never do it again, but then you are so happy that you would do it all over again. One day (a few months) you will love the changes and you would do it all over again!

Hey, I occasionally eat popcorn that I make myself with canola oil and kernels, a little salt. Satisfy's my urge, never movie popcorn again! Also, Newmans own makes protein pretzels, not the best but not the worst. I lots of protein each day. To me is better than eating cakes and cookies, french fries etc. Yes I know people that are eating those they get sick daily!

How long with this stall?
disneynut02 replied to nursie026's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 1/2 months and have stalled for 6 weeks, I was sick 2 weeks ago and that didn't even help. Haven't been exercising like I should be. With the superbowl tomorrow I plan on getting back on the plan come Monday! -
I think this weekend I'm going to try the 5 day pouch test, I want to try to shrink my pouch and break the carb addiction, if possible. I let you know how that goes.

I just started having this at 7 months out, I don't know what to do, the past few weeks have been very stressful I think this is part of it.

Experiencing extreme cold?
disneynut02 replied to purpleamy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been freezing ever since the surgery too! I wear socks, Pj's, Robe and sometimes even a hat and gloves in my house! I spent my christmas money at LLBean buying a new winter coat and hat! At work, I had the tech's adjust my office temp to 76 degree's! Still cold! Today I am wearing a Camisole, long sleeve shirt, sweater, corduroy pants and Ugg boots. Oh well, can't wait for summer which I used to HATE because I was always so hot! -
I had surgery 6.5 months ago, I have been doing pretty good so far but, I have not lost any weight since the beginning of Dec. Things had really slowed down since September and now have stopped all together. I have increased my exercise and my Protein and it has had no effect. At my 6 month check up the doctor said that he thought I would lose another 25 pounds before my year comes up. That would have been about a pound a week. I have lost a few inches all over since the weight lose stopped, I now fit into 12's which I couldn't do before December, so that is encouraging. But still very frustrated with no weight loss for almost 3 weeks. Any suggestions? I am going to try to show you a picture from last Christmas and one from just last week.

I could probably drink more....I'll certainly give it a try!

I've Had a Great Experience. So Sue Me!
disneynut02 replied to MillyBell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a very similar experience myself and I am 6 months out. My weight loss has significantly slowed but I have lost 75 pounds and have never felt better! All of my ills are gone, diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea all gone! I am down to a size 12 from a 22, I take the stairs and keep up with my family while walking places. The only problems so far were severe constipation and vomiting 3 times very early on. I am happy that others are successful without problems or very few problems! Keep up the good work everyone! Good luck! -
I hope that it goes well for you. How long ago was your rny? I just stopped taking actigall last week after 6 months and I worry about having problems.

I just got home from the holiday party my doctor and staff put on for us patients. I wasn't sure about going but I was very happy that I went. They provided wraps and everyone brought dishes too. They had a clothing swap, we danced, sang songs and saw a less serious side of my doc. I hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

Clothing Size Wishes
disneynut02 replied to michelecaples's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at a 24, down to 14's. I've finally started to go through the clothes to donate or take to consignment store. Overwelming! Wow! Very emotional about it, I never realized how much I loved my clothes! My dream size is a 8/10. -
11.99 or 9.59 with a GNC goldcard. Plus at the beginning of every month bogo half price. Can't get the price for the bariatric advantage one on my phone to compare. The taste is night and day.
