Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?
wannaBfatfree replied to weightshaker's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I have been on a plateau for 3 weeks. I know it don't seem that long but when I have been working so hard and eating only what I am suppose to and exercising it's very discouraging:thumbdown::thumbup: Do you mind sharing in what he had to say? I would love the help! -

Peaches & Ruby, you ladies are cracking me up! I got on the scales today and it hadn't moved:crying: so I was telling my DH about it and he told me "well if you weren't on it every 5 mins it would stop protesting!" Of course I didn't think it was as funny as he did. Jackie, I know just what you feel. It's so discouraging when you work so damn hard and the dang scale won't budge! But like phyl said we just gotta keep trudging through it. Also Someone said, It's not going to happen over night, even though I realy want it to. To be honest I would be happy if it could just go down 1 lbs. But, I am trying to keep my head up. A BTW girl, You are rockin' with how much you have lost!:glare: Way to go! Did you go look at the 5 day pouch test? I think I am going to try it, even though I know I don't need a fill because I bareley eat & when I do I am f ull for a very long time. So anyways, let's just try to keep our heads up and celebrate how far we have come and how far we will "eventually go" I also have a hard time getting my water in:sneaky:. That should be a new goal! Thank you ladies for you support and voices of reality! -

Phyl, You are so right! I just need to keep my head up and keep plodding through this. I think I am addicted to the scales and depend so much on it. Maybe I need to join an addiction to the scales support group. I just got frusterated from working so dang hard and not seeing it reflect on the scales. I guess I just needed a voice of reality!. Becca -

I'm very excited about 61lbs of fat being gone but it still get's so frusterating when I'm working so damn hard at it:crying: I am eating about 800-900 calories a day and I jumped it up to about 1300 for 3 days. So, I am hoping something will happen soon. Today is the second day after the three day break I've been back to really watching the calories, so I don't know if it has worked or not. I am just frusterated and had to vent. I will go check out that web site and see what kind of good info I can dig out of it, Thanks! -

I so wish that this band did 75% of the work for me! I am so fusterated right now because I have not lost a dang thing in a week and a half. It's awefull to be here. I am doing everything I am suppose to do. I am making good food choices, eating about 3/4 C. of food for lunch and dinner,(breakfast is a shake) I am walking a couple miles everyday - every other day. I havn't had any bad foods in weeks. I have been working very hard and yet have not lost a pound. My band has great restriction, I have no idea how to get out of this platue(sp). I even tried upping the calories.:tt1: Anyways, whoever says that the band will do 75% of the work for you is a pea brain. I feel that I have to work every day, very hard to get where I am. My band is a tool! and that is it, a tool! somedays when I am restricted it would be so much easier to eat chocolate, ice cream and chips than it is to try to chew my salad to death to have it go down with out complications. If I don't exercise than it takes forever for it to come off. So I am with you, It sure in the heck does not do 75% of the work, I could only wish it did. It has been an awesome tool for me but I still have to work at it. I think for me knowing that the band is in there and I spent money out of my own pocket makes me appreciate it even more and that motivates me to use this tool the best that I can. Also Ladies.... all those Pict are so awesome. You guys look so great! and the 3-4lbs you guys are loosing a week is so great, way to go ladies:thumbup: Becca -
Ohh my gosh, ladies. I am so opposite. I know when I am about to have TOM visit because my band get's so tight. I have to basically do liquids a day or two before and a day or so into it. I have always had cravings during that time so I really can't say if it's worse since being banded or not, but know I just cant indulge. My fill dr. told me that I might get tighter and I sure enough do. I also do not do fills the week of TOM. The worst part is not only to I have PMS but I have a liquid diet to go with it.

My sister and I had our bands done together during the summer, and since I have the summers off it wasn't an issue for me, but for my sister it was. We had our surgery on a tuesday in Mexico and she returned to work that following monday (5 days later) with no problems. another lady that I worked with (who is a 4th grade teacher) had her band on a thursday and took the following week off, she told me that she could have returned to work sooner. I personally felt fine after about 3-4 days after surgury, I was a little sore but nothing I couldn't take care of. Just be prepared for what you are going to eat because of the post-surg. diet. Good luck with your band, best wishes for you. -

I also agree with all you ladies. I think for me the band has been a tool to get me headed in the right direction, but for the most part I have to work hard to get the lbs. off. I eat a lot better than I ever have, I constanley watch what I am putting in my mouth, (yes partley because of things getting stuck, pbing and all that) but also because I want the wieght to come off sooner than later. I have to excercise or I am at a stand still. So I think the band has been a good motivater, but with that being said I have still had to work hard to get where I am. I am glad that I got the band, It was just the tool I needed. -

Hey Dashley, Great weightloss! I really like dr. fitzpatrick. She is very homiopathic and earthy, but she really knows what she is doing! If you have any questions or anything you can e-mail me also! I am going on 7 mons since I've been banded and it has been great. bekki@crestviewcable.com -

Hey Indio, I think that you might be right.:tt1: it just seems a little crazy to be 7 weeks out of a fill and to be getting tighter! for the first 3 weeks after my fill I didn't even feel like I had any restriction and then after that it seems to be getting tighter and tighter. I guess that is what I get for being ticked after my fill for not feeling anything:redface:. Salsa, we do live very close, I live about 20 miles north of you! So is there any support groups around central, OR that you know of? Also where do go to get your fills? I go to Fitzpatrick in the portland area! Living here with no family close I have gotten used to traveling so it's really not a big deal. Have a great night. Becca -

Hey Ladies how are you all tonight? I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced a fill getting tighter over time? I had my 2nd fill dec.1 '07 and since my last TOM, I am getting tighter and tighter??? what the heck is up with that? I can drink liquids just fine and some mushies but that is about it!:tt1: So I was wondering if anyone else has went through that? Also Salsa, I think we live around the same area I seen you on another thread about support groups in our area, and I was wondering if there is one and do you have to travel out of town for fills? Well you ladies have a great night! -

I agree with finding good after care. Make sure you have someone who will do your fills if you had your sugery in Mexico. Dr. Huacuz was also did my band 7-07 and I had a great experience. I thought his care before, during and after my band placement was great. Of course I was a little nervouse going to another country and being far away form my family but if I had it to do agian I would definatley go back Dr. Huacuz. -

Hi Dashley, I love Dr. Fitzpatrick. she has alot of good and helpfull info. She is not just there to give you what you want. She really cares about you, your band, and your health. I really like her. So, what size of band do you have? I think mine is a 6cc and it wasn't until my second fill that I really felt any restriction. It was also after my second fill did I understand why she will not do it during that time of month(PMS). Since my second fill I am so tight that time of month I can barely eat for 2-3 days. Well anyways I live here in Jefferson county between culver and w.s.. And good luck with your fill! let me know how it goes.:tt1: -

WowJackie506, YOU LOOK GREAT! what a proud moment. You are a great insperation. What an exciting day for you. Today was a great day for me, It was the first time since surgery that I went through my closet and got rid of (5 bags of clothes while crying tears of joy). I figured it was time to let go and it felt so good. I got rid of all the baggy clothes that I was hiding behind and I finally feel there is a new me under there somewhere! Chimboree, I started the couch to 5k, I have been waiting to hear from you and see how you are doing? when your going to start or if you already have? I am surprising myself everytime I get out there and do it. I really never thought I would run again. this is such a great thread, you all are a great encouragement! ttfn, becca -

Hello Everyone, I seen your thread a couple of day's ago and have been thinking about joining in(better late than never) It has been a very long time since I have tried to run/jog. Is there any one else on here who has just started or has not started yet? I would love to have a partner as well as the support of this great group. I love the way you guys support each other. My 11 year old told me today that he wants to do it with me, so I think that will be great to have a running buddy. I am also worried about starting this with the day time temps of 7 degree's. Anyway's I am willing to listen to all the advice I can get! I actually really excited to do this..... -

I too have thought about getting a ball, but I really don't know how to use it to get a work out. I see people use it to do crunches and stuff but I really don't think that I am there yet. How do you use and what area's of your body do you focus on? Becca

Hello Everyone, I am a July bandster and new to this thread. I Have had a bumpy but steady weight loss, But I have to admit I really havn't started a regular excersice routine. I was looking around and have seen some great plans people have and thought that I would try the couch to 5k run!:wink2: SO.... I was just wondering what you ladies have done for your routine and if any one has done or tried the couch to 5k run? also FRUSTERATED! I do the same thing, I know when aunt flow is on her way because I cannot eat anything! My fill doc say's it's due to water retention while your visitor is in town. It didn't start until after my second fill. Thanks Becca
