I had that same problem. For me, my gallbladder had deteriorated and I had a 100% blockage of the stoma. Mine was a severe case and I had to have my RNY completely redone. Symptoms started at 3 weeks. Revision done at exactly 4 weeks postop.

I'm down 100lbs, halfway to my goal weight! I had my first RNY on June 13th, second (complications :-/) on July 11th. Went from a 28/3X to 20/1X.

I have to be on 2 shakes a day for at least a year. I'm 3 months out and shakes I couldn't stand at two weeks are fine with me now. Just try different brands until you find one you can tolerate.

Congrats! Can't wait until I'm there. I'm stuck in 20s for now. But I had a NSV a couple of days ago. I went to a dancehall and was actually asked to dance! That's never happened before. The poor guy had to teach me lol.

Gallbladder Symptoms
robynshaw replied to music1618's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, it's about the same. I started having those symptoms 3 weeks after surgery and has to have my gallbladder removed. The surgeon said it looked bad once he got in there. -

As anyone tried grilled onions? I love them but scared to try them. I am 3 1/2 weeks out.

My doctor told me to drink a cup a day (caffeinated) to help with constipation

I couldn't keep anything down, not even Water. It started on July 3rd. I went to hospital on July 5th to get rehydrated and still couldn't keep anything down so July 9th or 10th they did an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and on the 11th an EGD to check the stoma.

Thanks for the input. I think I will try to make an appointment, but he won't be in town until Saturday. I guess I will tough it out until then.

My stoma was 100% blocked. My doctor said he had never seen it. The scar tissue just built up so much nothing could pass through. He had to cut out the scar tissue, make my pouch smaller and make another stoma connection.

Hello all! I had my first RNY and hernia repair on June 13, 2012, a revision RNY and gallbladder removal on July 11, 2012. My main incision is on my right side. It is a nasty looking one, too! Yesterday, I tried moving a chair at a meeting that I quickly realized was too heavy for me to lift. Someone moved it for me and I sat down. About 10-20 minutes later, I started getting stabbing pains about 1-2 inches below my main incision. Has anyone ever experienced this? I don't want to call my doctor just yet because: 1) I'm tired of bugging him and don't want to if this is a normal pain and 2) I don't have anymore time available to leave work (for x-rays and whatnot). The pain worsens when I try to bend and getting in the car is an absolute nightmare.
