Cooksie we are in this together then cause my mandatory supervised diet starts tomorrow!!! Hoping that once these 6months go by, I'll get a final approval and date before 2013!! Kinda bummed that it's around the holidays BUT I guess if I'm serious I'll have to deal with all the thanksgiving and Christmas goodies -- best of luck to u!!!

So got an email today from my Dr. Office, I'm approved BUT insurance requires I have a 6month supervised diet!! Are you kidding me??? I'm soooo HAPPY & Frustated at the same time!! ..... I just wanted to share! I'm going to see my PCP since I've been going once a month to see what he says! Pray for me:)

It is very frustrating and emotional BUT it's comforting that I'm not alone-- then I'd really worry!! Keeping my fingers crossed that next week will be THE week for us waiting...

So my insurance still has NOT given me a decision (& its a revison from Band to RNY)!! Every time my coordinator calls them they say it hasn't been decisioned yet BUT she went ahead and asked me to schedule my appointments with the nutritionist and Phyc evaluation and with the surgeon so that when I do get the approval I can schedule surgery!! All that sounds great BUT what if I'm denied and I do all that for nothing? Anyone else go through something similar?? I want to just give up BUT I find myself constantly checking my emails to see if she's got any updates -- this is beyond frustrating!

I love having my coffee every morning and I absolutely love my Keurig but now that I'm on my way to have this revision done I'm wondering if coffee will be something I'll be having to give up?? Has anyone out there had to give up coffee or change it, like only black coffee?

Wow - hands full of hair!! I'm concern now-- I have a pre-op visit next week that I will be sure to bring this up on!

I've got a question-- why would the nutritionist or therapist not give an OKAY?? I mean, when I went in 2008 they just asked a lot of questions and said ok, you are a candidate! I don't recall it being something that could prevent me from moving forward :\

When I went to my siminar I was told that hair loss was normal because of the hormone changes we go through - do u have long hair? U may want to cut it, layer it till your body becomes accustom to the changes-- I've decided if that happens to me and I'm losing weight I'm getting a make over, a HOTT new style to go with my new body!! Pamper yourself!!

Thanks everybody- I guess I'll have to see if my body agrees with it, I love the creamers and caffeine so if it doesn't have that, it's just not coffee:)

John there's risks involved if you don't have the surgery and you can die from that as well! And have you heard success stories? I have three friends who had it done and it was the best decision they ever made! Go hang out at your doctor's office with patients who have had it done from your surgeon and get feed back from them, where I'm going they offer support groups which I plan to attend, I think it's awesome to be able to share with someone who can relate to what you are going through. I agree with DLCoggin BUT I wouldn't tell everyone and anyone before surgery because 9/10 will be negative about it and will try to discourage you. I love how the thin ones want to tell me I can do it on my own and that all I have to do is watch what I eat and exercise! IF it were that easy there wouldn't be an obese person out there and this option wouldn't exist. I'm having revision surgery due to a failed lap band but only a hand full of people know and until I'm losing the weight and I am asked-I will not put it out there. I'll avoid the negativity as much as possible. (my two cents )

Me too! I'm in the process of having the revision, the lapband just didn't work for me after I had my son and I'm back in my 200s I'm always hungry and crave all the bad stuff but before my baby I was well on my way to my goal weight, I'm hoping this will be a new start for me!! Good luck!!

No, my sister in law had her band done in Mexico and couldn't get anyone to touch her here cause insurance wouldn't cover her and it costs more to keep going back, I personally wouldn't do it especially with the crime level the way it is! Back in the day when I was growing up a lot of people would cross over to get plastics done at a far better rate but I'm concern with after care! Are u considering it? If so, why?
