I bought a package on groupon because my neck is so saggy. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I saw ZERO results and I was so disappointed. I can't believe I was such a sucker for the hype. I had six sessions and nothing... The super sad part was hat I really couldn't afford it in the first place. Now I'm broke and I still have a turkey neck!!! Lol.

Tummy hates rice
Jen in SoCal replied to TinyMamiOf3kids's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 14 months post op. I can't do rice either. Or bread unless it's toasted. I've tried brown rice. No go. Ironic thing though, I can eat small quantities if FRIED rice! Lol!!! Perhaps the oil helps it slide down. Not really a good thing though! -

My one year anniversary
Jen in SoCal replied to kristy3k's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I celebrated my one year on 4-30-13 and I have to say... It's a shock when I see pictures of myself. It used to be a shock before and I deleted every picture I could find... However, lately I feel like I've lost my way. I drink wine, don't watch my carbs (although I'm careful of the ones that really make me feel uncomfortable, ie; rice, Pasta and bread)..I really need some motivation and a workout buddy. Plus this unexpected fact...since I've lost weight I feel like I look at least 10 years older...anyone else experienced this? Overall, however, I have to say I'm so happy! I weigh 130 fricken pounds!!!!! -
Beautiful, before and after!!!

My butt always hurts! I went to see a movie the other day and was in agony by the time it was over. I literally have no azz now! I can feel my tailbone so easily. Needless to say, my husband is in mourning

Sashimi is my friend! You can get in so much pure protein so easily. Sushi and rolls not so much for me. At 11 months out, the rice still hurts my pouch.

Length of time off of work?
Jen in SoCal replied to Kurstin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you can take the six weeks, do it. It will not only give you time to heal but also much needed time to adjust to your lifestyle change. -
As of today I've lost 99 pounds and reached my goal weight of 135. I had my surgery 8 1/2 months ago. This is still like a dream to me. I've still got a way to go fitness-wise. Now I'm thinking about saving for plastic surgery. After 3 c-sections and having my last child at the age of 40 my tummy just looks gross. On a brighter note today I bought an impossibly small looking (and incredibly stretchy) pair of size 4 pants!!

I've tried to eat protien bars but all the ones i've had have literally gagged me. It's like eating a chewy brick

I've reached my goal!

Ill be honest and say that i've gotten lazy lately. I was walking 2 1/2 miles 4 or 5 days a week but the weather hasn't been so beautiful so I've been substitutung the gym. The problem is I only get there once or twice a week and too much time on the elipticle and not enough strength training. My husband, I can say that now because I got married two weeks ago, is complaining that I'm too skinny. LOL I think he liiked me better fat! No matter, I did this for me, not him -
A sobering sight to see

It really does help to have something tangible to compare your weight loss to. I work at the airport and have to lift 50 pound bags all day long. When I think I used to carry twice that much weight on my frame its no wonder my body ached all the time! Congrats on your weight loss. That's a really awesome acomplishment! -
Wow what a difference a couple of months make! You look really great!!!

Premier Protein (Costco)

That's funny, I find the vanilla to be sickeningly sweet and I've actually given cases away. I do however, drink the chocolate every single day. It's my favorite of any shake I've ever tried. -
I went on my insurance website and checked my claim status. So far The tally is up to $72,000 dollars plus change!!!! And to think I was bellyaching about paying $3,000 dollars out of pocket? I am truly counting my blessings today. Wondering how much others have paid for sugery? Curious to know if there is a difference depending on your geographic location.

My BMI is 24.8. It's in the normal range! Not even overweight! I can't believe it!!!!!

This may serm like a stupid question...
Jen in SoCal posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But I'm starting to wonder when I'm going to stop losing weight. I'm 4 pounds from my goal. I'm currently at 139 and I am quite honestly alarmed at how thin I look. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't think I'm bragging in any way. But I told my mom how much weight I've lost and what size I can fit in to and she told me she was worried I was going to waste away and she is worried I wont stop losing. LOL! Any if our veterans have any advice? I feel like I should try eating more but I don't want to be one of "those people" that gains their weight back. I'm almost 8 months post op so it's not like I've lost my weight very quickly (95 pounds, 80 pounds post surgery). Help! I'm not sure what to think! Should I be satisfied or worried? -

4 Weeks And Only 20 Pounds
Jen in SoCal replied to hannahlouolson's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You're doing great! Think about the last time you were able to lose that much weight in 4 weeks. It's virtually impossible. And you're gonna keep losing, and losing and losing! This is the start of something great! Have patience and you won't believe how wonderful you are going to feel and look :-) -
Congrats!

Get back to myself
Jen in SoCal replied to mommytonya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, it will get better. I think for me I was about 3 or 4 weeks post op and it dawned on me. Hey I feel pretty good! Nobody said this would be easy and right now your going through the roughest part. Chin up, It's all downhill from here! -
thanks guys!
