Where do you live? Maybe you can find a walking buddy from here that's close to you.

I think it may also have something to do with your body being in ketosis. I first noticed it on my two week liquid preop diet. It will go away.

Broth= Liquid? Or Broth= Food?
Jen in SoCal replied to eeyoregirl1970A's topic in Food and Nutrition
It counts as liquid. Just be sure you are using broth that's low in sodium. That stuff can be full of salt. -
LOL! Sorry this happened to you but I have to say, you look fabulous even passed out!

Would U Do It Over If U Could? (Gastric Bypass)
Jen in SoCal replied to pinky's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yeah, sorry... I was a little excited with my response...I'm about 6 1/2 months post op and I (unfortunately) have found I can eat just about anything. I don't, however, eat EVERYTHING. I think that's key. I can eat a whole lot less than I used to, that's for sure! I have to admit sometimes when I'm so hungry I feel like I'm starving I want to eat so much and it's like noooo! I'm full already! LOL -
Would U Do It Over If U Could? (Gastric Bypass)

YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!! The most intelligent decision I made in my adult life was having this surgery. -
Got the ok to take small pills today. Does anyone take citrical? I honestly can't afford the bariatric advantage chewables and I know if I have to take 4 a day, it ain't happening. I will totally forget. If you do take them, are they big? Also, I can't remember if they are the brand that sell petites. Any kind of feed back would be helpful, thanks!

Sorry for the poor quality if this pic. My 5 year old daughter took it! Lol I had to share my success with some one. Here I am rockin my skinny jeans! Size 7 yo!!! I feel like I'm living in a dream. Only 11 pounds from goal but honestly I'm so happy where I am now, I don't care if I ever get to 135 :-) -

Friday Weigh-In!
Jen in SoCal replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on everyone's weight loss so far! I feel like my weight loss has come to a screeching halt at six months out. I'm SOOO close to my goal but I seem to be bouncing around from 150 to 148 for over a month. I've lost 85 pounds so far (give or take) and to be honest, I couldn't be more thrilled! I just know I need to get more focused at this point and stop EXPERIMENTING on things I can eat. Unfortunately I have discovered I don't dump. -
I was just on this website reviewing an automatic refill on my supplements that I CAN NOT afford this week. I honestly don't remember signing up for the automatic refill program but oh well, the damage is done and my vitamins are on the way to my house. $75 dollars that could have gone in my gas tank! LOL Anywho... I noticed they have a program that sends a text message to your phone to remind you to take your vitamins. What a great idea! Has anyone tried it out yet? It looks like I need to go in my PC to set it up but I was just wondering how dependable it is.

I ate a cupcake at work. :-( I resisted it all day and ate it when I was getting ready to go home. I've come to the awful realization that I don't dump.

I started eating shrimp about one month out. Just be careful not to ever cook it because if it gets rubbery you'll never be able to chew it up completely. It's a really wonderful source of protein, low in calories and fat.

I'm almost six months postop and I have yet to experience dumping. When I had my gallbladder removed about 10 years ago I would experience a form of dumping so I think I know what it feels like. It seemed like every time I ate Chinese food I'd have to run to the bathroom immediately. LOL Honestly though, I'm more afraid of NOT dumping than I am of dumping, if that makes sense at all. Right now it's just easier for me to say, "oh I can't eat that, I'll get sick." I have tried eating a few bites of bread a couple of times and it hurt like hell but I didn't dump. :-(

Hope you feel better really soon. I'm glad you contacted your surgeons office right away! -
I read this really interesting and informative article that I'd like to share. http://bariatrictimes.com/2008/09/19/the-latest-on-nutrition-and-hair-loss-in-the-bariatric-patient/ I hope the link works. In a nutshell it says that within the first six months hair loss is probably due to Protein deficiency. After that it could be due to other nutritional deficiencies. It also says there is no scientific proof that Biotin helps but I never read there was any harm in supplementing it. My hair is falling out like crazy so trust me on this one, get your protein in! I'm back to 2 Protein shakes a day just in case, that gives me 60 grams on top of the protein I'm eating.

I was sick for about 10 days. I did end up in the ER due to dehydration. I had zero strength and at the worst point needed help getting out of bed. It was pretty scary. There were several days I was on the toilet literally 20 times. The docs figured it was food poisoning in my case as no one else in the house got sick.
