  1. I was so excited when i went to CVS last night and found liquid acetominophen for adults. I bought two Rapid Burst Cherry Flavor. Then I got home and looked at the label. The third inactive ingredient is high fructose corn syrup. Has anyone tried this and dumped with it? I want something that will help me with pain, not make me sick!
  2. I have been taking the pill form occasionally. I feel like they kind if get stuck in my throat. I've never done very well taking pills, probably just psychological. I did try the liquid acetaminophen last night and it made my heart feel like it was racing and I got nauseous. Is that what dumping feels like???? Guess its back to the pills for me.
  3. Thanks for your response. I'm 11 week out ( I think, lost track) and so far I've avoided sugar like the plague. I'm not really sure if I'd have a problem. I'll try someday when I'm home and close to a toilet. LOL! Wish me luck!
  4. Wow, your incisions look amazing, kudos to your surgeon!

    Swim?

I was told once all the skin glue came off. It took almost 4 weeks. If you have steri-strips I think they want you to wait until they all fall off too.

    Slowmotion!

I have Anthem bcbs and was approved in two weeks, maybe less. It only took me a month from my first office visit till my surgery. I think it may have all happened too quickly. Take the extra time you have to do your research and make sure your head is on straight. The time will fly by and you'll do great!
  8. 1. Having my shoulder strap on my purse actually stay on my shoulder. 2. Being able to pull my jeans up and down without unbuttoning or unzipping. 3. Crossing my legs like a lady instead of a lumberjack. 4. Officially having only 1 backroll instead of 2. 5. No more boobie bulge and almost bursting button on my blouses. Try saying that 5 times fast... 6. Having to wear a belt with my uniform pants and having several coworkers tell me I need to get new uniforms because mine were just "too big" Some times it's just the little things that make life seem so much brighter.

    Where Is Everyone From?

Before I moved to California I lived in Madison Heights. Not too far from Fraser! A million years ago I had a boyfriend that lived in Fraser

    Friday Weigh-In!

Starting weight 234 Surgery day 4/30/12 215 Last week 185 This week 182 I've done zero exercise this week because of back pain. It's getting better so hopefully next week I'll lose a few more pounds than this week. I'm still happy with 3 pounds though! :-)

    Knee Pain

I thought my knee pain would be gone after losing 50lbs but it's not. I think mine is just damaged past the point of no return.

Is It Normal To Have Horse Voice?

Could be from the intubation. It never hurts to call the doc.
  16. Ok, do I have had serious back issues for years. I have the worst muscle spasms to the point that it has affected the natural curvature of my spine, not to mention I have arthritis due to my excess weight. Just a couple weeks ago I was commenting to a friend that although my knees didn't feel much better yet, my back was feeling fine. Then I went in vacation took a 6 hour flight to and from Hawaii and BAM! I'm right back to where I was before surgery. I tried taking my muscle relaxers prescribed to me before I had surgery. They had no effect on me whatsoever. I think it must be a malabsorption thing. My biggest problem is pain relief. I used to take NSAIDs, aleve or Advil and they really helped. Now I can take nothing but Tylenol which is absolutely useless for my back pain! Help! Has anyone had the same issues and been able to find an alternative they actually works? I had to call in work yesterday because i could barely walk and I used up all my sick time for my surgery. Sorry for the ramble but I really need to vent. I've literally felt disabled since Friday and I could just cry and I need some kind of pain relief. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

    Emotional...wow

We were all incredibly nervous. That's totally normal. Your life will definitely change and it will be challenging at first. I will be 9 weeks post-op tomorrow and every day is still a learning experience. I will never regret having my surgery. It was the best decision I ever made.

    To Eat Or To Drink?

For those of you already eating after surgery, what do you do first in the morning? Do you eat or take in liquids? I've found that since my metabolism has sped up a bit I usually wake up hungry. (I used to be able to go until about 1pm on coffee alone). Problem is, I wake up thirsty too!

    Friday Weigh-In!

Starting weight 234 surgery date 4/30 @215 lbs Last week 189 This week 185 Not too much weight lost but I've reached my second personal goal. My next gaol is to be at 163 so I am no longer in the OBESE range for my BMI
  23. Yesterday at work I had someone who works in the same building as me, not a co-worker of mine, tell me since I came back to work I look "almost normal now" what an a-hole. I had to go to the restroom and compose myself. Some people are so ignorant. They just can't comprehend that you are the same person you were before surgery.

    Emotional...wow

This isn't about sweets but it is about food mourning. Last night my fiancé and I went to Lucille's BBQ. It's one of his favorite places and if you haven't been there, it's phenomenal! He had been pouting all week since I had to work on fathers day and we didn't get a chance to go out. I was very good and just had a couple small slices of tri-tip (no sauce) and a few bites of mashed potatoes. But that's not the story I want to tell..... The place was packed. As I looked around, I realized that nearly every table had at least one person sitting at it that was obviously morbidly obese and they were literally gorging themselves. I had so many mixed emotions. At first I felt bad that I could not eat like they were. The food is so delicious and lets face it, you go to a place like that to eat till you're about to burst. I also felt bad for them. I wanted to go to every single table and tell them they didn't have to live like that and there was help for them. Lastly, and what I am so absolutely ashamed of, I was actually sickened by what they were doing to themselves. After all, just two months ago I was one of those morbidly obese people shoveling huge quantities if food in my belly. I have never and WILL NEVER be one of those people that will judge someone on their appearance or weight, however, I just couldn't stop myself from feeling disgusted. I suppose it made me realize just how lucky I am that I had the courage and the means to have this surgery. It made me realize that feeling healthy is so much more fulfilling than eating a huge delicious meal. I'm looking forward to losing more weight and feeling better every day. It's a wonderful feeling to wake up every day and feel even a tiny bit thinner than the day before. I used to wake up because I was in pain. Literally, I didn't even need an alarm clock! Now I wake up laying flat on my back (something I could never do before) and I have to feel my tummy to make sure it really is smaller and it hadn't all been a wonderful dream. Instead of missing youre birthday cake, Celebrate yourself! You are a beautiful woman and now you will be healthy and beautiful too! There is nothing worth celebrating more than being healthy.

    Bcbs Anthem Info!

I have anthem bc/bs and I was approved in less than two weeks. As a matter of fact I had my surgery after just one month of my first doctors appt. The surgical center I went to had me fill out a lot of stuff online and I was fortunate enough to be able to take my psych evaluation over the phone as the psychologist said I didn't "raise any red flags". All of this happened before I actually stepped foot into their office. I had to cram a lot of appts into a short period of time, sometimes two or three a day but that was really convenient for me and my work schedule. My BMI was 40.1 and I didn't really have any complications due to my weight except for arthritis. my total out of pocket was about 3000. But that was my fault for picking the least expensive coverage option at open enrollment last October. Totally time was about 6 weeks after my first inquiry online. It all happened so fast sometimes I wake up in the morning and have to feel myself to make sure it wasn't all a dream. I hope everything goes smoothly for you as well.
