Absolutely stunning! You look great! -
We save A TON of money not eating out. We used to do it 2 or 3 times a week. Not to mention take out lunches on work days. I'm sure that has a lot to go do with how I got so fat also! I got one of those cards from my surgeon that says this patron has a surgically reduced stomach, please honor their request to order from the senior or children's menu but have never tried.

Much love to you! You can get through this. You're so much stronger than you think!

I would have a hard time controlling myself! liquids are too easy for me, I could probably have a whole cup. Like I said, it's my favorite!

I really want to eat tomato soup but it has so much sugar in it! It's always been my favorite. Funny how they make reduced salt but no reduced sugar/ carb soup :-(

Friday Weigh-In!
Jen in SoCal replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After a two week stall I lost 3 pounds this week. I'm now 179. The most awesome part is I now weigh less than my man!!!!! I don't think I've been able to say that in 20 years. I'll be 12 weeks post op on Monday and all together I've lost 55 pounds. -
Do you still have your gall bladder? I had mine out years ago but that's what the attacks felt like to me. Definitely go see your doctor. You don't want to mess around when you have any pain in your chest area.

I had the hic/burps for a few weeks after surgery. When I get them now I know it's because I've been eating way too fast. Try to slow down. It might help.

How This Will Affect You In Old Age?
Jen in SoCal replied to kloveburd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had Wendy's chili last week and was so ashamed of myself, I ate a large! It was very soupy though. Must have been a full cup. I honestly didn't think it was possible but I have no problems with liquids. It was quite tasty though. Next time I promise to get a small! -
A support BRA that is. My boobs have gone south

OMG. I just saw the responses to this. I'm crackin' up here!

I have to try these! I tried tofu noodles that I found at the Asian market. They were horrible. It was like eating rubber bands.
-
You should try Kashi GoLean cereal. It's really tasty and has lots of protein and fiber. It cured my cereal craving.

Believe it or not, your best bet is to drink more water. That will help to flush all the fluid out of your system. I'm dealing with the same issue right now from being hormonal and being on my feet for 8 hours a day.

11G Of Carbs/coconut Water
Jen in SoCal replied to lovelygirl01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist told me to keep sugar carbs under 5 grams per meal. She said not to worry about the fiber carbs because those are beneficial to you. Make sure you check the serving size on the coconut water too. It could have two or three servings per can/box. Coconut water was something I dicovered that I really liked just before surgery but I've since give it up bummer. -

Just Got The Bill
Jen in SoCal replied to bellepink77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My bill came out to 72,000 and some change. Over 30,000 more than they estimated. I had a rough first night in the hospital so they ordered CAT scans and such. everything was fine though. I was only in the hospital for two nights. -
Strange Question

LOL! -
I am going to tell you a story and talk about embarrasing.... Maybe two or three years ago I was suffering from excruciating back spasms. It was the weekend of course, those things always happen when you can't get to your own Doctor. I went to a walk in clinic that I found on my health insurance website. After waiting and paying my demanded copay, I was weighed, had blood pressure taken etc...I saw the dr. The place was very busy and just had curtains around the examination rooms, like a hospital. The doctor came in and did the usual, pressed on my back, see if I could bend down, stuff like that. he said he would order xrays but we had to wait for the xray technician to be called in because it was the weekend. So we waited and waited. As we waited he proceded to tell me that my back problems were because of my weight. he told me I was 97 pounds over weight. I think I was about 220 at the time. He left. He came back and told me I should eat smaller portions, lower my fat intake and cut my carbs. Apparently he thought i was stupid as well as fat and I didn't know what or how I was supposed to eat. He left. He came back again. I remember word for word what he said to me. He said, "You know you're big right? I mean you're REALLY big"...I was about 220, Had this man never seen a fat woman in his life before???? The part that really hurt was not what this D-bag dr was saying to me. I could hear the people in the exam rooms on either side of me laughing. They were laughing at ME and they hadn't even seen me. I will remember that day for the rest of my life. I finally found a primary care physician that doesn't brush off every problem I have on my weight. She actually tries to help me. I guess my point is this, when you go to see your bariatric surgeon, you are welcomed and accepted there. At least that was my experience. The staff at my office are encouraging and treat you like you should be treated and not like a second class citizen. It is your safe haven. Its not a place to break down, its a place to feel like you're finally empowered. You are taking a huge step in improving your health and your life. You should be jumping up and down for joy! I hope the rest of your appointments go smoothly for you and you have a wonderful experience with your surgery. It's worth every stressfull moment of preop! :) :)

Strange Question
Jen in SoCal replied to aleyampat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started to feel that after a couple of weeks. I could literally take a drink of something and count to 30 and feel it hit my pouch. It was weird for sure. I don't really notice it anymore though. My fiance told me to stop trying to explain how I was "reconfigured" because all he could think of was that movie "Human centipede" and it freaked him out. LOL
