    Feel Terrible

You are tired because you're not getting all of your essentials in. Don't give up - find alternative ways to get in the fluids. If 'water' is too bland, do something to spice it up! I added Syntrax's "Apple Ecstacy" to my morning nalgene bottle of Water along with some powdered Wylers lemonade drink mix for a sweet and tart drink that is refreshing - definitely add LOTS of ice and shake it up! I couldn't do the shakes without gagging, but found other ways because all of us here on these boards are determined!!! Also, chew on ice chips, use sugar-free ice pops from teh grocery store, if you don't make them yourself. Another way to get Protein is to make the chocolate Protein Shakes and freeze them into FUDGCICLES!!! You're getting fluids and Proteins, then. TRY EVERYTHING and ANYTHING!
  4. I agree with Kim!!! I used to keep the larger sizes "just in case", and instead of having a closet full of clothes, I had a closet full of sizes! This time there's no looking back. I will be donating, ebaying, gifting, whatever- to make room for newer, better fitting garments. Right now, I'm between sizes, and about to run out of clothes. My closet housed sizes from 18 to 24/26, but I'm wearing the 18s now, and soon I will have to get new things. Not looking forward to buying things I will also eventually outgrow, but that's part of the acceptance we have to teach ourselves as part of this process - in my mind it's the same acceptance of buying a meal out, and leaving the better portion of food on the plate, even when taking the rest home isn't an option. If the clothing was so dear to you due to the expense, ebay it and recoup what you can. Maybe you'll find someone selling a smaller size of what you want at a fabulous price. I wish you luck and peace as you come to a decision that will make you happy.

Nectar Protein Powder By Syntrax - ?

I bought the Syntax Apple one and I put a scoop in my nalgene with lots of ice and a little dry mix of Wylers (sugar-free, of course) lemonade. This tastes like an apple martini - minus the vodka , but the lemonade makes it sweet and a little tart - just right for me. I can drink the entire nalgene bottle as long as the ice lasts. When it gets warm, it gets a little more difficult so I try to get it all in before the ice melts - 23 g of protein!! I was using the unjury chicken Soup as a high-protein snack, but burned myself out on it - still like it, but may go back to it in the winter when I'm looking for something warm instead of something cold.

    Crackers

I have added the 5-grain wheat thins, and like everyone else CHEW, CHEW, CHEW!!! I have 5-6 of them with small pieces of swiss cheese and turkey pepperoni for my lunch when I've got a really busy day at the office. While I CAN tolerate crackers, I still can't tolerate any bread. surgery date: April 30, 2012.

    Friday Weigh-In!

I think you all are doing great...I've finally figured out how to post to this from my iPad after looking at your posts every day since my surgery on 4/30/12 4/30/12. 252 7/22/12. 207

    Trouble With Protein

I put the unflavored protein in my pudding. It changes the flavor a bit, but it's doable. I really like the Unjury chicken soup for something non sweet. I'm 20 days post op and I do a shake for best and dinner, and the soup for lunch. That makes 77 grams of protein a day. Done!

    Almost 3 Weeks Post Op

I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op and found that I canhandle the unjury chicken Soup. 21 g of Protein in a cup-of-soup format worked for me while I can handle the GNC ProPerformance chocolate shakes (some of the other flavors are too sweet) they are just TOO filling. Right now, I'm doing a shake for breakfast and dinner, and the cup of soup for lunch. I used the unflavored protein in sugar-free, fat-free vanilla pudding and that wasn't bad.
  10. I also appreciate hearing about which protein shakes are best tolerated and taste the best. (my 2nd post)
