HELP! i need to get back on track!
fattypattynomore replied to khalilmom90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had lots of direction, lots if pages in my binder, recipes too. One thing surgery doesn't do is take away choice, take away cravings (it doesfor about 6mons then it returns), doesn't take away old habits. And not everyone gets dumping either! I don't always dump if I screw up. Its behavior change are struggling with.... We just must keep and stay strong and keep pushing on! -
unfavored protein power
fattypattynomore replied to Foranewme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My fav, I order from BariatricChoice.com, bariwise wildBerry Protein drink mix, I mix two packs as a serving. I am 6.5 months out and still use both unjury unflavored and the bariwise wildberry! Or I mix 1 packet wildberry with unflavored unjury. I've also used the unjury in mashed potatoes and other food to add protein to it. -

HELP! i need to get back on track!
fattypattynomore replied to khalilmom90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm going through the same thing. I think the thing is, the isn't much more your doc and nutritionist can do, we have to regain control ourselves, they cannot make us do it, they can only give us the teaching and tools. It sucks and yes, cravings of our former selves is still inside us and Ewe we must continue to fight it, for life! The surgery is only a tool, not a cure all. Stay strong, take it one day, one meal, one bite at time.... Believe me, I wish there was sure easy way to stay on track.... For some its easier, for some of us its harder.... -

Unjury unflavored is good. Isuggest two crystal light packets though to help mask the unflavored flavor....sounds weird but allunflavored still have a lil flvor...lol -

I had bypass of 7/25/12. I was losing very steadily. Now however, for the past five days I have gained a pound everyday. I'm following the program. My period has come and gone so it's not period weight. I meet my protein and water goals each day. Is this normal or am I broken!?

My bowels have slowed...hec, last week I couldn't go for 7 days! Now it's about every couple days. As far as salt, no. I've been anti salt for years, half the time my doc says eat more salt because it's a bit too low do I don't know what's going on but it's freaking me out to gain a pound every day for five days! Yikes! -
Have you tried www.ladygrace.com? They go to size N. they don't have my size (pp), but I can alter the N to fit. They for sure have some H's!,,

Anyone Else Get Gi Upset From Optifast
fattypattynomore replied to rabrijumo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been off and on optifast for 7 years. They have a specific formulas for diabetic patients, the 800 for mild diabetics nd 70 formulas is sugar free for moderate diabetics. Couple things, your body is getting proper good nutrition, doesn't matter what shake brand your body will get gassy etc while it takes on the good shake nutrition and processes the bad nutrition from before out of your body. Although its annoying, it's also a sign that your body is loving the good nutrition! As far as the brs, my dad is diabetic on optifast 800 formulas and they told him use the bars very sparingly, basically when he's out and about and he can't make a shake, use the bar. But not eating the bar often at all. -
Impossible! All alcohol turns into straight sugar as soon as you drink it! To keep sugar as low as possible, drink it straight on the rocks! After bypass the alcohol goes straight to the blood, so be cautious as you really cant drink as much as before. The ratio is 3 to 1, for every 2 oz of Alcohol u consume ( 2oz is standard measure for a shot and for the other drinks) , your body gets the affect of 3 -2oz shots..... So be careful. Suggestion, crystal light has mix drink flavors, take some with you and ask bartender to make your drinks with it instead of the syrups they normall use, u can also ask for half the alcohol. Or, just have then give u just crystal light but in a mix drink looking presentation so everyone has the impression you are drinking right a long with them. That's what I do...I still have just as much fun and so far every bartender I've asked has no problem doing it, especially cause I tip as if it's n alcohol drink !

Overly preparing to not have complications is still focusing the brain and subconscious mind on having a complication and that could be why...they we are what we constantly think about. Low potassium, high sugar, those happen almost with any surgery dealing with the gut area. I had both. Dehydration is also quite common too so I wouldn't bourdon yourself with counting any of those as complications. Pneumonia is also common to pick up after any surgery. That is part of why they had us use the incentive spirometer as well as walking and forced coughing, to clear and keep your lungs clear. If you didn't do those every two hours your pretty much got a high chance of getting pneumonia. Rest easy, listen to your doc and bring any concerns to their attention and all will be fine...good luck with everything!

Yes, I've researched the loose skin saga for over ten years...it appears genetics is the main component. I've seen people do every trick, gadget, cream, exercise, weight, etc, but still had loose skin... I think the more we accept it and stop stressing it (me included, I'm guilty too) and just realize that we are the cause of it and this surgery will save our lives. I'd rather be alive with baggy skin than deceased with fat rolls!

High Protein/low Card Linked To Heart Disease
fattypattynomore replied to KevinsBabyGirl85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, its the high fat proteins our ppl that do extreme low carbs like atkins. I got high blood pressure from doing atkins. The docs are having us eat high low fat proteins and not extreme low carbs but moderately low -
I belong to both this site and the gastric sleeve site because I am undecided which surgery to get. I noticed a lot of the sleeve posts are about weightloss stalls where there don't lose weight for weeks at a time and even gain weight regardless to staying 100% on their plan. Do bypassers such as yourselves experience these "stalls" I'm your weightsloss and how often?

Weightloss Stalls?
