    New Design?

I don't see a legend....how do you tell the threads you've responded to? I see that threads I've read are an orangey color....what about threads I've posted in? Is that perhaps blue?
  2. Is therapy not helping? All I can say is that you have to get to a place where you feel that you are worth it. You're worth getting to a healthy weight. Your child is worth it too. I hope you can get to that place. I hope you continue with therapy and I hope it helps. Good luck to you.
  3. They gave me crystal light a few hours after surgery in the hospital. You can have as much of that as you want.
  4. What are you eating and how much? Are you counting your calories, protein, carbs? Are you getting in all your fluids?

    Protein bars?

You'll get more protein in by eating things like eggs, tuna, cheese, fish, chicken, etc. than you will by eating protein bars. For the calories and carbs in them compared to the protein in them, they're just not worth it to me during the losing stage. That's just my opinion though.
  6. Wow Blue...you're doing GREAT! Be brave....if I can do it you can do it...post some pics! I bought a few pair of pants that are size 14 because they were very cheap...but I can't wear them yet. Hopefully soon though! I'm seriously running out of clothes
  7. Dang girl...you look skinny! Congrats on your loss....you've done so well.

    Stuck at 70 pounds

Well let's start with more info. How many calories are you eating per day? How many carbs? Are you logging your food everyday? Have you changed anything about your diet?

    coffee ???

I drink coffee everyday. I use powdered creamer and equal. I probably drink 2-3 oversized coffee cups every day. I guess overall caffeine isn't great for you...but ehh....oh well It's had no effect on my hunger...in fact it probably curbs any hunger I might have in the mornings. I started substituting one cup of coffee for a protein shake though because coffee for years has been my "breakfast". So now I have a protein shake as a substitute for breakfast.
  11. Sounds like your friend might be talking about one of the malabsorptive procedures...either the RNY or the DS. And I do believe Stacy is right..the only thing we have trouble with is the B12 due to a reduced amount of Intrinsic Factor. The fact that the sleeve has the LEAST amount of side effects (actually WHAT side effects?) is why I chose this surgery and not one of the other options.

Great job Carla! Feels great doesn't it?

    Unjury UNFLAVORED?

It's definitely not tasteless...it's just unflavored. I think it's pretty yuck...tried it once and said never again. But I've read plenty of others who tolerate it well.

    I need some Help please!

I have BCBS of Louisiana and it's an exclusion on my policy. Not just VSG but ALL weight loss surgeries are exclusions. No appeal possible. I self paid for my VSG and it was worth every penny. So...you need to find out if they cover WLS but just not the sleeve or if WLS is an exclusion altogether. If they do cover WLS but just not the sleeve, you have a good chance of winning that with an appeal. If it's excluded, then your only option is to self pay.
  17. So close to onderland that is..I woke up this morning and the scale said 201. Wow...I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. I bet it takes me another few weeks to lose 2 more lbs to make it there. But I can see it...it's just RIGHT there...and I'm so EXCITED!!
  18. I really like your hair like that and that color....it's a great look on you. You look fabulous and I'm glad you're maintaining so easily...I hope 1. to get to goal and 2. to be able maintain like you are!
  19. It's 91 lbs since I started my pre-op diet which I did earlier than I needed to. So 91 lbs since the middle of March and 67 post op.

    Everyday eating

I've yet to come across anything that doesn't agree with me. Granted I've not really ever tried sweets...oh I did have a bite of a cookie one time. I'm not interested in having those things in my losing phase...maybe in moderation once I get to maintenance.
  21. Congratulations! I think you're doing great. I'm a pretty slow loser too but I'm ok with it...we'll get there!

    I'm craving roasted vegetables

LOL....isn't it great? I agree with you though...it's so much easier to leave all the bad stuff behind now and I definitely crave more healthy stuff now. I love it!
  24. For me my reasons for not choosing the RNY nor ever even considering it. 1. They make a stomach pouch which often stretches out. 2. You have a blind stomach which is nearly impossible to scope should you have any problems. 3. I did not want my intestines rerouted. I was not interested in malabsorption. It might be fine now when we're younger and healthy, but about when we're elderly people and just by virtue of age and aging need additional supplements. I don't want to have to deal with being malnourished, malnutritioned, etc. because of malabsorption. 4. The revision rate is pretty high with RNY. I did a lot of research and on the Revision board and failed weight loss surgery boards over on OH there were just too many RNY's looking to revise to something else..some even desperate enough to go to BOB...band over bypass. To me that is the worst of all wls worlds. 5. My problem was overeating..not so much WHAT I was eating. I just had a really big appetite...although I did eat a lot of carbs...who doesn't like carbs? I quit carbs about six weeks before surgery and frankly I don't miss them.
