    This Is It

Best of luck to you. This WILL change your life!!
  5. Cut out everything with sugar in it. Don't buy a lot of protein shakes or supplements. I did and I ended up not liking a bunch of them. On celebratevitamins.com you can order a variety pack of chike shakes and on bariatriacadvantage.com you can buy syntrax nectar protein samples. Other good web sites are theworldaccordingtoeggface.com - mybariatricpantry.com

    Seperating Eating And Drinking?

It's still annoying but you get so full from food that you can't stand to drink and eat at the same time. You will be amazed at how all of the things that seem so difficult before surgery are actually not even an issue after surgery. The worst part for me was waiting for something to drink the day of surgery after I woke up. My mouth was so dry. It was terrible to wait until the next morning. But when the time came I was so scared that I would throw up that I didn't want to take that drink!! Lol.

    Sweat

I am 7 weeks post op. I have lost 40 pounds. Before the surgery I was sweating and having "hot flashes" constantly. I literally carried a portable fan with me at work, I was miserable. My menstrual cycles were totally screwed up. So far, the sweating is practically gone, I haven't had one hot flash and my cycle has been normal for the past two months!
  10. Make sure you get all of the info on dietary guidelines so you can mentally prepare what your eating and drinking will be like post op.

    Overwhelmed With Emotions!

You know that you made the right decision. Be strong, educate yourself as much as you can. Good luck!
  15. In about a week you should feel up to all of those things. I started cooking the day after surgery. Just be really careful about lifting things...laundry is heavy!

    No Pre-Op Diet?

I only had to be on a liquid diet the day before surgery. Every program has different diet guidelines. I transitioned to a pureed diet the day after surgery.

    What Is More Painful?

I didn't have a c-section but a complicated birth. I've had gall bladder surgery and a tumor removed from a bone in my foot. RNY was definitely the easiest surgery that I've had. If you are having laparascopic rny, it is not bad at all. I walked the day of surgery...alot. About 16 laps around the nurses station. The first week it's very hard to get in and out of bed. Stomach and left side are very sore. I walked a mile or two in the park every day from the first day that I got home. Really helps with the soreness and gas. I felt really good after a week and almost normal after two weeks. Really try to get in your protein, water and walking. Hope this helps.
