This time in your life is some what like the death of your closest friend...you are likely to be emotionally unstable...for some of us we have always been like that and hence weight issues. However every day you will feel better. He is a man and Iam sure a good one at that, although I do think they think differently to women. Not wrong just differently.Forgive him move on and bust his balls big time if he does it again as he now knows better.Be kind to yourself and him as in a couple of weeks you will be feeling loads better.

Dh Is Trying To Convince Me To Get Gastric Balloon...
one too many replied to kabeerah's topic in Gastric Balloon Forum
I would have to agree with the above ."get your man to the Drs or Lapband semminar" My husband has alway been thin.Alway thought he knew all the answers about weight...which can be very hurtful at times. However once he came along to my appointment the Dr had explain the whole weight /and dieting bulldust and has since been more supportive and sympathitic to those whom are chubby like me....or I should say was.The band is wonderful and so much better when your man understands.....with his support you might even find the balloon will work for a time...the lapband long term.Just like our parents our husbands are not always right just some of the time. Good luck he must love you loads to have an opinion. -
The pain is not so bad...alot easier than a c/section any day.It gets better by the day.More what is the concern is not the feeding but the lifting of your heavy lump. You will be fine and don't worry I can't see it being too much of a problem once you find out what works for you.You may just need to nurse him slightly differently(maybe). Good luck.

GET USE TO IT.BREAD JUST ISN'T TOO GOOD WITH THE BAND.You acan do without it ,I have found as time has gone by all I want to eat is really tasty food and bread and chips are bland at best.

I came out of my little band closet

You go girl..I often walk around the shops and want to rugby tackle somebody down and tell them that they need help and this is what has done it for me..However I can imagen how I would have fely if someone had done it to me.I even remember talking to the surgeon and hoping in my heart of heart he would say I wasn't fat enough for the banding. He didn't thank God .....I found out about this op by the same way your friend did.I had just had a baby...having a really down day and layed out my cards to a new friend that I had made and she told me about it.Thank God she did as I watched her for 12months excited for her and then I knew it was for me...well I have to say at the beginning I didn't tell anyone as I felt I didn't need there opinions to help my decide and now Iam proud,,,only problem all those I haven't told makes it harder to tell now ,new friend no problem as they judge for whom I am now.I9am pleased you told someone as you will recieve great rewards when they are loosing and be able to re-live your loses as well. -
That is what you get for not chewing properly.Oh yes we all get it at some time and usually when we are not concentrating on what we are eating.I would agree with Alexandra it's not what you ate but how you ate.Too much too quick and not chewed properly.Hard lesson to learn. My biggest problems are when I have company when I eat and not just the family as I chat and eat and forget. Slow it down next time.

apparently the swedish band starts out larger...however once the the correct amout of fillis put inplace they work some what the same....Iam have the lap band as apparently once the Dr's opened me up my stomach was too small for the lapband to be placed. The sweddish one starts out larger.

The information it was given is if you loose half to two thirds of your excess weight they would feel that the banding has been successful. Then there after is bonus .I have lost what they call successful however Im still over weight and need to loose 20pounds.Funny after a while you get use to feeling thinner and then start to feel just like you use to..Fat

I haven't been on this site for months....because I haven't had any problems with my band, got on with life and it is no longer all consuming as it once was.Hence why you don't hear from us that don't have any problems. Once you speek to your Dr and find out what problems he has come against with the band it will put you r mind to rest...My Dr has only had two and has had done this very procedure for years. Everytime you eat the wrong thing you are taking a risk....so this is no different.Just listen to your body it will tell you if anything is wrong and when to see a Dr Good Luck from one of those whom has only but lost weight yippy

welcome to the club and there is a good chance it won't be the last...most likely the worse though.Iam 6 months down the road and have days when it happens because usually I haven't chewed properly in a rush like yourself or the kids are driving me mad and Iam not concentrating. However it is never as bad as the first one.Good luck I always keep tissues in the car just incase

I am walking the floors almost in tears.

I have to agree with the above. For many of us whom do not visit this site as often as we would like is because at long last we are no longer consumed with weight and band issues. Why is this ? because it works. We are having no trouble with the band and losing weight.Which is the whole idea.If you are prepared to do the right things stick to the general rules you shouldn't have too many problems....you will go where life takes you and not another on again off again diet.Good luck and this is a great choice My Mum is going to have this done in the near future and she is in her 60's and looking forward to a thin her. -
Can anybody please tell me about fatty liver and what the treatment is for a and older patient. Many Thanks
-
Thanks guys for the info....Funny enough it is my father whom has the fatty liver at 75 years. Not overly over weight just a little old man pot belly and no a big drinker. He has alway beena thin fella all of my life and I wouldn't say is belly is big. Thanks

Hello there ..I would have to say discomfort is the best way to explain the feeling. The incision point are tender and the first day you are sore but I felt better by the hour.As long as your job doesn't require heavy lifting I would say you will be ready to go back within a week.I would have been happy to go back the next day but I have to say I found that it was the anaesthesia mediacation which took me longer to get over.As I found it hard to concentrate or focus to read and I would have been capable to drive as I felt I was still under theeffects of the drug for the best part of a week. Good Luck.. such an exciting journey/

by now I would hope you are very excited and so you should be....Iam excited everyday that I awake as I now feel I have more control of my eating habits. It's a good decision to have made however not for everone. My advice is to look at it as a new adventure much the same as a change in your life as getting married , having a baby getting the snip if you are a male .....they all come with advantges and disadvatages... 1) take things slowly try to enjoy the liquid stage it isn't forever 2) min mouthfuls 3) if you aren't sure of the unusual feeling you get ask other here 4) learn what your full feeling is as it will feel different 5) this is new for me and my Dr suggested it only eat when hungry or you will end up with the very uncomforable feelings. 6) plan a head when you are going out to eat in public ie try not to go to plces that there is nothing you are able to order 6) Learn very quickly to say THANKYOU as when all the complements come in saying how wonderful you are looking you will be able to let if flow off your tongue with ease and not the usual ( YER RIGHT...AS IF) TONE. 7) START TO PUT A LITTLE ASIDE FOR YOUR NEW IMAGE. Best of banding to you and try to wear a night dress as to pjs as pjs sit up near the incision points.

Pain after eating..have you experienced this?
one too many replied to Apryl Showers's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have to agree you can eat all the right foods but if you eat too quick..the pain will come ,you can't concentrate on others and basical you feel like crap.My nose runs and and I start to produce loads of saliva. The moral of the story is eat slowly and if not sure take only two mouthfuls then walk away and only come back when you know it has gone down well.I find that if I eat with my kids I have the trouble every time so now I try to eat away from them...I think it is that having to eat quick or they will have it off your plate syndrom. The little rotters still hang around wanting my left overs. Try to take it slow and you will be fine. -
We are half way through the year and the annual christmas eve bash on our front lawn takes place. All the street turn out all friends and kids.Every year we have a slippery slide and water games.Last year my sister took her kit off and went down the slide in her bra and g-strings.This year we want to have a paddling pool with jelly in it also. However can anybody tell me how we can make bulk jelly without refridgeration as the fridge is needed for alcohol. We have thought of asking everyone to bring a made up jelly with them but that would spoil the surprise. This year I hope to be more willing to get some of my kit off anyway.Any ideas would be most appreciated.
-
What a great idea..never thought of it that way....small problem ice is usually in short supply the week of christmas. Kit is the other term for cloths. You haven't seen the movie Bend It Like Beckham. Iam from Perth Western Australia. So its our summer time.Ialways fancied a roll around in cold a jelly like. There for I have put in first dibs to go in first the kids can all go in after as I don't want all their germs ha hah ha ha. May be when you guys all get together for you bandster convention you could have a jello bath or wrestling pit.Lord knows how many of us would love to have had the chance. It will be double knoickers and Bras for me.
-
this is my biggest problem as it is usually pretty hot mid to high 30c.Hence why it is out the front.Ill post the photo's after christmas. This has become a yearly event. The first few years it took a while to get off as everyone normal visits but now all the street now invite their friends to come. The kids love it as Iam sure you are aware chrismas eve afternoon and night seem to take forever to come when you are a kid.Last year there were 20 kids ranging from 1 to 16 and we had no winging, crying or anything basically they left the adults alone except for more dishwashing liquid supplies. So Iam hoping we can get the jelly going this year.... Zoe Iwasn't even thinking of jelly untill my 30's ha aha hah ha
-
you would be more than welcome as long as you come with a huge smile ,jelly and wanting a good time.G string optional haha ha ha.

A little trip one week after surgery?
one too many replied to Margo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds like a great idea However I know that even now Iam a very windy person down below and Iam not sure how it would have been ...along with the restrictive diet and getting use to your new digestive system I personally with hind sight I would wait about 3 weeks...You won't be in any pain on the other hand and with think you can take on the world. What ever decision you will make can't be too bad. -
Well I have to say girls you can put that boot right up my ass...You both are so very right as what we consume makes the final difference..However for most of us not putting on also counts.Do you ever feel which I do at times even when Iam being good what Iam consuming is naughty?I wonder if is that diet mentality??? Tamiko you will get there..walking and lots of the other passion exercise does wonders..I perfer the other when the option arises.HAH HAHAHAHA
-
Your doing well so far as you are not putting on for a start. If you are anything like me you may need more exercise but not just in an exercise class...maybe more walking as that seems to work magic. Are you finding although you may not be making a chande on the scales you can feel a change in your waist line.????I have found that my fat seems softer and not firm although the scales haven't move for a while my cloths are fitting better.Take care....

Have you ever considered being banded in Australia?.With you Dollar being so strong comparative to the Australian dollar I would wonder if it could well be something to consider. For the same price as going to Mexico you could come here have a wonderful holiday.be banded with some of the best and stay in five star hospitals.
