I lost 14 on my pre op. I was allowed to have clear liquids (broth, jello. White grape juice and tea). Also all of the vegetables I wanted.

I would think as long as its not oozing or hot you should be ok. But it wouldn't hurt to call the doctor and see what he says. That's what they're getting paid for.

Starting wt: 297 Surgery date: April 23, 2012 Current wt: 227 70 pounds down. It's going slow but I'm so very happy. I know I need to get my protein intake up. I haven't been eating much and I just can't get used to the shakes. I've been trying out some different protein bars. I hope that helps. -
The spicier the better. Before I had the surgery when I ate spicy food a lot of the time I would get heartburn. I haven't had heartburn since I've had surgery. My doctor took me off of my gerd meds. He said I probably wouldn't need them. Of course I didn't believe him. I haven't taken anything since the day of surgery. April 23, 2012.

The medicine your taking, is it for heartburn/gerd. If so I was on something for heartburn too. After surgery my doctor told me to stop taking it because I probably wouldn't need it. He said most patients who have bypass surgery usually doesn't have that problem anymore. Low and behold I haven't had heartburn since before surgery.

I only go every 2 to 3 days but I'm not constipated. There's a difference. Youre really not eating a whole lot. So there's nothing there to get rid of. Right after surgery I didn't understand either. I went from going 2 to 3 times a day to every 2 or 3 days.

I have never dumped. I dont know if I ever will. I've heard how bad it is. I watch the fat content in everything I eat and everything is sugar free. I'm so afraid. -
That's nice of your friend. The liquid diet is hard at first. As the days go by it gets easier. Good Luck.
