beth423 replied to seiko's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not come home with anything attached. I did have a drain tube and cathater. The cath was taken out the morning I went home because I had to use the bathroom before leaving. And the drain tube came out right before I came home -

Are You Happy With Your Decision To Have The Surgery?
beth423 replied to kristikay's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had surgery on May 2,2012. I am 21 years old. My starting weight was 278. I was unable to carry a child because of my weight. I was unable to run and play with my niece and nephew. I couldn't even walk upstairs without being out breath. I am now 220. I have lost 58 lbs in 3 months. I have never regretted it. I feel like a new person. Energy wise. I can't tell a big difference in appearance but I am hard on myself. It is the best thing I had ever done. I am glad I mentioned it to my doctor. I have tried everything nothing would work. Good luck -
Great job. You should be proud. If you can do it pre op you will be good post op.

Glad your doing good. My mouth stayed dry for 2 days and the first 18 hours I could have nothing but ice chips it killed me. Welcome to the losers bench. Hope you do great.

I love your stories. I would love to read more. They are an inspiration to me. I am 3 months out and 53 lbs down and love hearing stories about people's experience and makes me look forward

When I had my surgery my surgeon recommended 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. Then build up. I am 2 months out and walk on a treadmill for 30 min a day. Elliptical at least 10 min a day. (it kills my legs) and 3 times a week I walk outside a mile to a mile and a half

beth423 replied to rpil003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

When I had purée I craved sweets bad. I had 1 tsp of peanut butter and it helped. But I limited it to 1 tsp a day of that. I am now 4 months out and not craving as bad. Hope it helps!!
-
I would call my insurance and see what the deal is. Mine had to be approved before they would even set a date. Hopefully it will be and if so. Good luck and congrats on your new life.
