    Super Worried!

Are you still losing weight? If so you're probably fine. If not I would change it up a bit so that you're getting more protein and less starch. Stateside they continuously stress proteins . Some form of it at every meal and it should be 2 bites of protein to one bite of whatever else. I hope this helps ...and of course a good walk everyday also helps

    Super Worried!

You said uou've lost around 4 stone. How many pounds is that? Here in the states thry say that you should be eating about 4 ounces per meal
  6. I went to my 1 week check up and i was stunned to see that I've lost 12 lbs & some ounces in 1 week! I was so amazed that asked to be weighed again with a different scale! Lol! And then I came home and weighed myself again! I am sooooo excited! I cried tears of joy today because for the first time in a long time I felt like there was hope for me yet! Thank you Jesus!
  7. I had a sugar free grape one...I've been looking for sugar free fudgesicles tho
  8. I was nauseous all day but didnt realize what it was til I threw up a mucous ball. No blood in it or anything but I felt better afterwards. Im holding fluids down but I know vomiting is taboo so me being the hypochondriac that I am am very nervous. I took my Claritin and it also stayed down. I didnt take it till this evening but Im supposed to take it in the a.m. I remember my Bariatric nurse saying that if my pouch filled up with mucous (from my sinuses) that I would get nauseous and that I should take my Claritin everyday so that this doesn't happen. But silly me forgot now Im worried I may have damaged something from throwing up (even though I'm symptom and pain free). Does anyone have any advice or encourageing words that I might borrow? My15 year old daughter is ultra supportive (even walks with me everyday) but she can only offer me so much. She has researched all that she possibly can via the world wide web but sometimes I feel guilty for leaning on her so much...

    Rny Procedure

Omg! I totally understand you about the cath....The catheter was the worst part of the surgery if you ask me! But they did do it after i was unconscious ....but mine was left in until the next day. The catheter wasnt all that awful but if i had to pick the worst thing out that would be it. But only because i prefer to NOT be catherized....in other words you will be fine and best wishes to you. Please keep us informed of how everything is going.

    Just Plain Angry (Long Rant)

Wow! That is awful. But i must ask are you exercising and are you getting enough proteins? From my understanding Protein is essential to weigh loss....and when i say exercise im referring to somfthing as simple as walking 25 mins 5 days a week. Also maybe lapband ppl should consider a class action law suit to get it removed from the market because i hear so many similiar awful stories about the lapband. So many that my surgeon wont even do them...my heart bleeds for you...hope maybe these two tips help

  18. I keep hearing everyone talk about the pre op diet. My dietician that works directly with my surgeon told me I didn't have to do it because my bmi wasnt past the range where thdy make u do it. Plus they said that after all of the pre op testing that I had that my liver looked really good not REAL fatty. My question is has anyone had the surgery without the pre op diet? Oh there is an exercise regiment thst I've had to adhere to for 2 weeks pre surgery. By the way I'm 5'7" and 285 lbs

    I Need Some Advice.

Yes gas pain and pressure can be monsterous! I just found out today that i have to switch to Lactaid as opposed to skim milk because im lactose intolerant. Milk has alot of protein so i was using skim milk in the protein shakes instead of water and it was causing alot if gas and pain. They said its not uncommon for ryn patients to be or become lactose intolerant. Walking has helped alot to ease gas pain and pressure. Now that i know there will be no regular milk for me!....yogurt and aged cheese they say is alot lower in lactose....looking forward to having yogurt again in the near future! Yay! Never really liked milk anyway
  20. Im from Toledo Ohio:)
  21. Yeah went to hospital today they said it was fine. Come back if it gets bigger. Its not painful or anything. Not sore to the touch...bruising not uncommon in ppl with anemia
