    40's New Beginnings

Hi I'm 43 and I had surgery March 21st 2012...Losing has been somewhat slow rolling for me. 5 weeks out and I've lost 26 lbs. I read on here about a lot of people having lost at least twice that. Does anyone suppose that maybe because I'm middle age?
  2. So sorry to hear of your woes. When praying remember to thank the Lord for good health. Claim it before it happens and trust and believe that it WILL happen! Also I'm sending up a healing prayer as well...be strong baby girl and all is going to be alright.
  3. Yes the roller coaster ride is a doosie! I only lost 25 lbs my first month. I only sound so ungrateful (although I am not) because it seems as though everyone else on here is losing do much faster than me. I exercise daily. I get my protein in and its only gonna b five weeks this Wednesday but I have friends that say they didn't plateau this soon...so I don't know what to think. Its discouraging at times....especially when you have people calling all of the time asking "well how much have you lost now?" Every other day

To Drain Or Not To Drain

I didn't have a drain....and have had no complications. I had surgery on a Wednesday and was back in class on Saturday. I was moving a little slow though. I started the exercising the day after I got out of the hospital of which I got out Thursday. My understanding is that the drain is more or less to check for leaks? Not sure though but my surgeon said that I didn't need one....

    Question

I had surgery on the 21st and was able to attend a class reunion on the 30th. I took bottled water with me...and wasn't ready to dance but I think that its because I was still getting used to being alcohol free. I was a party monster prior to surgery! Lol

    So Proud!

I vote for throwing the damn thing out also! Lol! I know its not funny but I truly feel your pain. I took a scale back and went and bought a new one for that very reason a few weeks ago. Then I had every one that came over get one the scale to make sure that it was giving accurate weights. I had truly become obsessed!

    I Know... Tmi!

Well a stool softener isn't exactly a laxative...it just makes it easier to go! Lol! They haven't reintroduced fiber in my diet yet....

    I Know... Tmi!

My Bariatric nurse suggested fleet enema since most already struggle to get all if their fluids in without adding another. I take a stool softener every other day. I've only had to use the enema once but it gave me substantial relief!

    Little Lost

Quite understandable... just want everyone to reap the full benefits of the group. But whatever works for you: )

    Little Lost

Respectfully said when u guys opt to use your private emails for questions and answers it leaves everyone else out of the loop whereas someone else reading the posts may have the same questions and the answers may be of benefit to everyone or at least more than one I do understand sometimes there us a need to interact one on one but more frequently here I've noticed people just wanting email buddies whereas I thought that the premise of this was to be a GROUP forum. I hope that no one finds this offensive. And if so I beg your pardon in advance...

    One-Derland!

I've got a long wary to go before Onederland but your stories are inspirational! I had surgery march 21st. Not quite a month ago...but really looking forward to joining you all!
  19. I am only about 4 weeks (march 21st surgery date) post op and I haven't lost any weight in a week. Not since I started eating real food. Maybe an ounce or 2. Its quite frustrating because I'm eating properly. Getting my protein in as well as exercising. WTF???? Should I have hit a plateau this early in the game? This is extremely discouraging...should I call the nutritionist? Sad in Toledo: (

    6 Week Post Opp

Not sure what quavers are but I know french fries aren't a good thing because they're fried. I figure its like being a newborn you have to keep introducing yourself to new things (healthy of course) so that you'll have a nice variation in your diet. Also you still need to be very focused on your protein intake at 6 weeks. Also are you exercising? Hope you start to feel better: )
  21. We're not judgemental here and we all here are in the same boat!: ) I have received a lot of good advice from wonderful people and from just reading other post. Good luck to you and your journey!: )
