And don't ever disbelieve psychics. I had one tell me that my ex boyfriend and I would get back together when his new gf dumped him. I would get pregnant. We would get married and have 2 kids. The first of which would be a boy. She couldn't tell what the 2nd was. And that eventually he would walk out and leave me to care for my children. I'll be damned if every part of that scenario didn't happen and in that order! Good guesses? I chose to think not.

Your psychic should be shot;) I love my job (I dont want to go back on Fri) and wouldn't trade it for the world. It's so varied. I can go from one room with a woman fighting to maintain a pregnancy to another with a pt fighting for life with Uterine Ca to another with a woman letting go of life after a battle with ovarian Ca. We run the whole gamut of emotions. But for the most part couldn't find a more appreciative group of pts and families. Though there IS truth to the what the rest of thospital calls the "whiney gynies;)." But the rest of the floors aren't as nice as ours! Lol! Come on over:)

I bought a baby tooth brush and it's going much better:)

This is sooooo true! Baby spoons and forks. The small ones not the chunky toddler ones. My surgeon told me Mon to start using them. I would get nauseous with each bite. I never threw up though. He said even though my bite was smaller it still wasn't small enough. And I'll be darned it works like a charm.

Absolutely not!! My surgeon lectured me the other day about not going over a 1/2 cup at meal. I said, "Listen closely. It takes me 2 hours to eat 1/4 cup. No worries about me attempting 1/2 cup." I have not been hungry since the morning of surgery when I was starving and got bumped 2 1/2 hours. I have no appetite. I eat because I know I need to eat. I've gone from 2000 calories give or take to 500-700 calories a day.

I put my first meal (1/4 cup of scrambled eggs) on a small plate. Took a pic and sent it to my sis. Her response was, "I see your already not listening and overeating." My initial reaction and rant to myself was colorful and unfit for public viewing;) I wrote back that it was a small plate. She was shocked that it tricked her into thinking it was so much more than it actually was.

What do you consider low enough on carbs and fat to be worthwhile?
-
Oh yeah, and that would be a yes.

Shhh!! Pinnacle is a bad, bad word:)

I didn't have to do a psych eval but I despise that reword the questions technique in anything. I get annoyed. I start thinking how many flipping times can you ask me the same question. I'm not going to change my answer!!

Antepartum/Gyn Onc RN here. I know. I know. Our unit truly is very specialized and covers pre birth to hospice for women only.
-
law, You warned me to go get checked cause of all your pain being more than just pain. I actually went to the ER on your suggestion cause this RN refused to listen to her own body. Fortunately, CT and X-rays later mine was "just pain." I know I'm not the only one who had pain but I did feel "alone and crazy" when almost everyone was saying "I didn't even need pain meds. I was only a little sore." blah, blah, blah;)
-
I had horrid pain issues. I was down for 5 weeks with massive pain. I felt crazy cause 90% of the people said they had no pain. Medication really didn't help either

I think it's absolutely true. I still do it. When I use a dinner plate I eyeball too much food on to it. Of course I can't eat it. When I use a salad plate I put the perfect amount on to it. However before surgery I would have eaten everything on that lArger plate and felt like exploding when I was done. I definitely think that the more you have the more you eat and not out of hunger. Just because it's there.

I know that each of our surgeons have different plans of attack and rules. I'm wondering what amounts of protein were each of you to target when eating a regular diet?

2 1/2 Months Post Op And Pregnant
aleyampat replied to HamDan's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Research, research, research the different high risk ob's in your area. Get consultations before you commit to any one. I had a friend whose insurance wouldn't let her switch when she realized that her high risk wasn't progressive enough for her liking. Find out what their plan of action is for all the what ifs. Even when they tell you to stop what if-ing things that haven't or probably won't happen. -
I just went to the store and bought each flavor as well as SF Hawaiian punch singles and all the diet snapples except the peach. My nose has a strong aversion to anything peach since surgery.
-
I think I just friend requested everyone.
-
I just went to sbstylun after he requested me and stole everyone;)
-
Lol! I cant do it either. People have to add me:) I think we have to go on a computer to do it.
-
You can all add me. I tried and couldn't figure it out. It's under Aleyampat. And it's not hidden like my fb profile.

My surgeon told me today that this aversion will eventually go away. But he doesn't say how long it will take.

Sounds like the same pain I had. It started about a week out. And unfortunately mine lasted until week 5. Hopefully yours doesn't. I was taking muscle relaxers and vicodin to make myself comfortable. I was never pain free unless I was literally laying flat in a recliner. My family doc and surgeon both said it was muscle pain. Mine was finally relieved by swimming in the pool. Keeping my fingers crossed that yours is not the same.

Where is the pain located? And is it only in your back?
