Hi my name is Joanie, I was banded on 6-28. Everything is going well. I have just one incision that hurts when I transition from sitting to standing. I am right around 1000 calories a day and feeling satisfied. The weight is not dropping at all, can't figure that out. Does it just take a while ??? :help: Joanie

What's your new favorite protein snack?
joanielll replied to Crabby54's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have ordered it on line from Vitalady.com and I have gotten it locally in Minneapolis at a health place, can't remember the name. Price was about the same. You can order samples. Joanie -
What's your new favorite protein snack?
joanielll replied to Crabby54's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I absolutely love the champion nutrition pure whey protein stack - banana scream!! I have a few different flavors of this brand and this one by far is the best. It just mixes with water I don't have the extra calories of the milk and I can make one anywhere with some bottled water (just shake it up). I can't wait to get to work so I can have one for breakfast in the morning. Joanie -

How was your recovery 1 week after surgery
joanielll replied to too much of me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Everyone, this has been my experience, I had surgery on June 28th. Dr Chute at Abbott did the surgery and I am so happy with the outcome so far. I only had pain at the largest incision, but each day it gets better. I never had any bloating, burping, shoulder pain or any other problems. I am trying to keep my portions small because honestly I am not getting a full feeling. I have been eating all foods from day 2. My "plan": no more than 1200 calories (not coming close most days) and 80 gr of protein (getting at least 70). I chew everything really well and have had no problems. Today, 10 days out I have almost no pain and I am down 8 pounds since surgery. I wish you all the best. Joanie -
Hi back to you, I live in the Twin Cities, if you ever have a question for me I would be glad to help you get from where you are to where I am. It is a great feeling! Joanie

Hi Sweety, Congrats on getting banded too! My doc says I can really eat anything that I want to. I just chew really well and have not had any problems. He said to stay below 1200 cals. I have a Protein Shake @ 7am and 10am in the morning, otherwise I can't get in enough Protein (they are 195 cal and 35 gr protein ea). lunch applesauce tuna or chicken dinner chicken or fish vegetable or fruit I am not ever hungry yet, I just don't eat more than 1/2 cup at mealtime.

Getting Banded next week!
joanielll replied to jnkntrnk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had laproscopic surgery last Thursday. Friday I felt pretty good, I certainly could have worked from home. I went back to work on Monday, to a desk job with a little running around. Nobody at work even knows that I had the procedure done. I am 5 days out and only have pain in one spot in my tummy (the largest opening) and only when I am going from a sitting position to standing or vice versa. I bet you will do fine. Joanie
