I was also able to drink my Water there, but by dinner time I could not keep Soup down at all, and I have not even been able to keep water down. I was on course today and did not eat or drink all day until I got home at around 5:00pm, I have still not been able to keep anything down. I don't know if it is just taking time for the swelling after a fill to go down, or if I should go and get a de-fill. My first fill I had to have one cc removed before I left because I could not drink the water while there, the second fill added only one mm and I was able to drink the water before I left and was fine the next day. This time I got 1.5 mm, I was able to drink the water there but now it is just as bad as last night. What do you think? Is there any way to bring down the swelling, eating ice maybe? Thanks for any suggestions Thanks, Carla:help:

I had mt third fill at TLBC yesterday

I went back today to have a defill, oh what a relief! I had lost 9 pounds in 48 hours so I was really dehydrated, I was so thirsty I didn't care about hunger at all. Nancy took out half of what I had put in on the 26th, so I am now at 5.75. Carla -
Hi, I had my second fill yesterday also. The last time I had gotten 4cc's so this time they only gave me 1cc for a total of 5cc's. After the first fill I did not feel all that restricted, I definelty could eat more than a cup full, I'm hoping this time it will be a little better. I was happy though because I lost 10lbs in the two weeks between fills, and I really had a good varitey of food and was satisfied. I did want to test my limits so I tried rice and bread on different days. I did ok kinda on the bread when it was toasted but rice made me so sick...I decided not to try Pasta. I go back Aug 26 for my third fill, maybe I will see some of you there. Carla

Hi Peaches9, We met yesterday, I also got my first fill but I had to go back in to have 1cc removed, so I have only 4cc's. I told you that I would give you the names of some of the recipe groups on Yahoo for bariatric eaters.... one is BariatricRecipes : Weight Loss Surgery recipes and the other is:BandsterRecipes : BandsterRecipes Glad your trip home was uneventful. Hi, I am getting my first fill on Monday and I am hoping that it makes a difference with my appetite which is a little less than before banding but definetly not enough. I have been on solid food since the 11th and certain things cause me no problems but many things go down and then come back up, I have to eat with a bowl beside me (sorry so gross!). I guess I am not chewing my food enough nor eating slowly enough, that is something that I will really have to work on. But all 'n all, I am looking forward to Monday. Carla

Hi, I was banded on Friday the 13th, and although I am not superstious I've got to wonder. I am on mushies now and will start on solids on August 11th, but from the beginning I have been hungry. I definetly can eat more that the amount suggested and I believe I could eat solid food with no problem (although I don't), I can drink as much liquid as I want at one time. I feel very disapointed, to have paid $17,000 and not feel any different. I will have my first fill August 27th and I am praying that will make a difference. I'm hoping that others have had the same experience and can tell me that this did work for them!! Any advice or hope for the future would be greatly apreicated.:help:

and I am suppose to be on clear fluids for 4 days then full fluids for 10 days, but I have no problem drinking a liter at time, and I do not feel at all full. Is this normal, will I not feel full until I get the first fill? Did everyone stick to the schedule of clear - full - purred and then solid? Thanks, Carla

Nervous - Surgery set for Aug 2 at TLBC, ? re pre-op diet?
CmacD1964 replied to kero's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I had my banding done on July 13, 2007 by Dr. Yau, and I feel it went well, I have sleep apnea and had to stay over night at the clinic, and everyone was very nice. I was on the pre-op diet for 3 weeks and I was so sick of cottage cheese and yogurt, but one thing I found to be heaven sent was a cold cafe latte.. I took 1 cup of 1% or skim milk, added a splash of vanilla, 3 packets of splenda (I have a sweet tooth, you can use less) and a heaping teaspoon of instant coffee, and put all that in a blender, then add a cup of ice and whipp until ice crushed, it is great and thick and cold and actually pretty satisfying. If you like chocolate you could add a heaping teaspoon of cocoa powder in with the coffee for a rich mocha taste. Hope this helps you as well as it did me to get through the pre-op diet. Carla -
Hi, My name is Carla and I live in Toronto Canada. I am going to have my banding on Friday July 13th (good thing I'm not supersitious)! I am currently on the pre-op diet of skim or low-fat milk , yogurt and cottage cheese. I am also allowed coffee and tea, sugar free drinks such as Crystal Lite, sugar free Jello and that's about it. I have over 150lbs to loose, and although I have been successful dieting in the past, I have always gained the weight back, I am hoping that this procedure will be a tool which will allow me to reduce my appetite - which is large - and stay on a healthy diet not only till I loose my weight, but to learn to eat properly for life. I have decided to do this, and to get my weight under control once and for all because I have recently been diagnosed with type2 diabetes, I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea and sore knees and back!! I know I sound like a wreck but actually I am quite healthy, I exercise everyday and I do have a lot of energy, I just love to eat. I eat for emotional reasons mostly but I also enjoy food and I am a very good cook!! I enjoy baking and make up alot of recipes. In my personal life I am single and have a Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot, two budgies and two cats. I would have more animals but I live in an apartment and do not have the room. I hope when I retire - several years from now, or if I win a lottery, to move to a house where I can have more pets. I work right now supporting Police Computer Systems for several cities and for the Province of Ontario. I enjoy my work and especially like talking with the police officiers - although most are totally computer challenged!!! Anyway - that is my story - I'm a little nervous about the operation, and scared about making such a big change in my life - how will it affect my enjoyment of life - but I believe in the long run I will be happier - and definetly healthier. Hi, I just found this group. I am going to have my procedure on July 13th. I live in Toronto. I am currently on the pre-op diet of low fat or skim milk, yogurt, and cottage cheese. They did not provide any suggestions as to how much I can/should have each day - any ideas?? Thanks, Carla
