    I like the biggest loser one - it even tells you how many calories you're burning. It shows your form, and if you're not doing the exercises correctly.

    I say .. STOP gulping !! As long as you're able to "swallow" the liquids and they aren't coming back up - you're at optimal restriction. I went thru the exact same thing after my last fill - I was used to being able to eat ALMOST the same as pre-band (just less quantity) - gulping liquids, taking "big" bites, not chewing as much as I should, etc and this last fill really shocked me into the program. NOW if I could just find a way to stop forcing myself to eat the last couple of bites of something just to "finish" it....

So I went and bought myself a weeks worth of single serving Cereal bowls - I know it would be 'cheaper' if I just bought the large box and separated everything myself, but I'm still not comfortable with my portion selections. ANYWAY - I had gone with the intention of picking up some Special K cereal (thinking it would be healthiest) and while I was there I picked up some rice crispies (my FAVORITE) figuring having them as a treat wouldn't be HORRIBLE ... well lo and behold when I turned them over to compare and prepare myself for how HORRIBLE those crispies are when I noticed that the Special K was MUCH worse. So I figured I'd pick up the HEALTHIEST cereal there - Kellogg's Smart Start - well it had 7x the sugar vs the rice crispies. More carbs, more calories, more EVERYTHING. I wonder if for years I wasn't making the "wrong" decisions while THINKING I was doing the right thing.     :thumbup: my bugg has to go to the bodybugg hospital :confused::crying: She hasn't been feeling well for a few days - hallucinating activies (like me taking 1500 steps in my sleep :confused2:) and the display beeping every minute to tell me I've met my calorie goal for the day :wink2: They're taking her in today and hopefully I'll have a bugg back on my arm by Friday. I've just gotten so used to it being there, that I hate the thought of it going away :wub:

    I have only had mine for a week, but I will do my best to answer It WAS time consuming the very first time you enter a new food (but since I tend to eat the same stuff every day, it's just "there" for me to select from the list. It takes no more than 1-2 minutes to "select" my food now. Before my bugg I was losing about a pound a week, now I don't know if this is a fluke or not, but in the past week I've lost almost 4lbs Pretty much since you wouldn't be able to log in and see your 'deficit' - although, if you purchased the digital display you CAN see what your progress is every day. Very easy to enter your own food :thumbup: you just type the stuff off the nutrition label and name it what you want. Then it appears on your list OR you can just type the name in the search bar and it will show you the entire list foods with that name in their database (including the ones you entered). It gives you one. Basically there is a questionaire that you fill out and it sets your targets based on that. Those are always adjustable :frown: I have been wearing it 24/day since I got it (except for the shower) so that I can get an accurate reading on how many calories I am actually burning (like when sleeping, etc)

    Time Off on "Fill days"?

    I use STD time (I took some STD with my surgery and just extended it to include "monthly adjustments") I like being able to take the rest of the day to go home and relax - especially since after my fill yesterday, I have been having trouble keeping stuff down.

    Why do manufacturers do this ???

    I've never seen it advertised - but the packaging has the whole "heart smart" thing going on. Kellogg's® Smart Start® Rice Krispies, I thought, were sugary and just all around "bad" for you. But side by side (assuming that you're using the same amount of the same milk in each) it appears that the 'sugary kids cereal' is better for you.

    Ok stupid question... Does anyone know how to erase multiple entries of foods ? I was attempting to add "custom" foods to my plan and was entering everything. For example - I have a cup of rice krispies with skim milk and a splenda packet every morning. The skim milk at work is different than the Hood brand milk I buy at home (the one at work has 4x the carbs) Anyway - I was attempting to add "rice krispies @ work" and "rice krispies @ home" as "meals" and I was FINALLY able to, but not before creating about 14 entries for rice krispies. I have no idea what I did wrong - but I'd like to delete all of those "extra" entries so that I don't have to scroll looking for the correct ones.

  12. I didn't want to add this to the current BodyBugg thread because I fear it may get lost. I think there are a few people who wanted to buy the display, and it's $69 right now at 24hour fitness. If you read the "official" bodybugg thread, you'll find that some folks who have it don't use it as much as they thought they would - but if you're like me and have been waiting for it to go on sale, well, now would be a good time to buy :tongue: I figure if I only use it when I'm working out or at work, it might make my bugg experience that much better

    which is better ?

    I have decided to start walking/moving this month to see if that will 'jumpstart' my weightloss. My question is : Which is better? walking for 20-30 minutes every day or walking for 1 hour 3x/week ?

    Rash..under my stomach (apron)

    I uhhh use a clean washcloth under there to keep it dry. So far so good - I change it after my daily shower and it has really helped to keep the area dry/rash free for me.

    WHY? Do I hate myself so much?

    I guess the question is rhetorical, but I have found myself asking this every day for the past month or so. I want to be thin. I really do. I just manage to find ways to sabotage myself EVERY SINGLE DAY. For example, I am still eating crappy foods (at ONLY one meal/day - usually dinner) but still eating crap, nonetheless. I am still eating TOO much, even when I'm not hungry. Granted, I'm eating a 90 calorie special K bar vs a Hershey bar, but still. I'll keep forcing food even when I'm full. I think it's because I'm still eating too fast, but after this 3rd fill, it's like I'm getting stuck at every meal. Last night it was so bad, I actually threw up. I keep eating and trying to force food - is that head hunger ? I mean, I know I should only be able to eat "THIS" much but then I get a slice of pizza in front of me and I force myself to eat until it's gone (then I feel physically sick and emotionally guilty) I have only lost 18lbs since surgery date in Nov. - I'm just so upset about this.

    OMG! I just found this thread again (I apologize for not replying sooner) and wanted to thank all of you for your replies. I ordered the Beck Diet Solution book - and plan to start "day 1" today. I think part of my frustration comes from the fact that I'm losing so slowly, so it's hard to stay motivated. I also hate the guilt associated with eating the wrong things... it's like I'll pick up the slice of pizza, and as I'm eating it I'm telling myself this is "bad" yet I can't seem to make myself put it down (I know Beck addresses this) I just wanted to come back and thank all of you :puke:

    Bandster Hell?? Why???

    Why are you wanting to rush things? I "get it" believe me-I'm going thru bandster hell where I'm watching my portions, etc. But I've also set myself up "mentally" with the expectation to only lose 1lb/week - but THIS time, that 1lb is gone forever. I'll be "satisfied" with my band if I lose 50lbs by this time next year. Honestly? What's the rush? For some, the first few months the pounds seem to 'melt off' effortlessly - but then they seem to plateu. For others (ME) the beginning is SLOW (and I'm hoping it gets faster soon - see I'm inpatient, too). The reason they don't "fill" the band all the way up from the get-go is that as you lose weight, your band will need to be filled again - if you're at fill capacity from the start, when you lose 20lbs - and your stomach shrinks a little (thus becoming unrestricted) you won't be able to 'tighten' it because there won't be any "room" in the band. --- On another note, I'd be a bit concerned by a doctor that would give a patient TWO fills within their first month post op. Most doctors make you wait a month between fills because the "tightness" can change over the course of that month.

  21. I am newly banded myself but have come to the realization that you will STILL have to "diet" and "exercise" to be successful. Restriction doesn't come for a while, and even then it appears to be fleeting (as you lose weight, you also lose restriction) so it's up to YOU to do everything right in order to lose. For ME "right" means eating whatever I want in moderation. I refuse to go into this worried about what I can/cannot eat, etc. If I want pizza, I will have pizza - ONE slice. If I go to a birthday party, I will have cake - one small piece (and maybe not even ALL of the piece I'm served). If I want a burger, I will have a burger - ONE burger without the bun. I need to live in a world WITH food - and I'm a LOVER of food (how do you think I got in this position ?) As for the excersize - I move. I'm constantly moving. I work in an office and have set up my keyboard and mouse so that I can stand at my desk and constantly walk side to side (think pee-pee dance) - I read somewhere that walking for an hour at 1mph will burn about 100 calories/hour .. SO I do it for 1/2 a day (phone calls, emails, etc) and sit for 1/2 day (meetings, etc) and by the time I get home I've burned at least 300 calories (as opposed to 100 had I sat at my desk all day) I also park further away and take the stairs. It sounds silly but I live on the 5th floor and I've been taking the stairs up all week :redface: (I'm exhausted by the 3rd floor) but I burn about 50-60 calories doing that. In any given day, I'm burning about 500 calories MORE than I did "pre-band" and that's BEFORE I've even started working out. Granted my weightloss isn't as impressive as others, it's down right SLOW - but it's consistent and the numbers are going down

    I would ask your surgeon - however, I think after 6 weeks, provided you're feeling up to it, you are usually "cleared" to resume activities. I don't know that I'd be taking straight jabs to the port site, but I guess that means you'll have to increase your blocking ability :frown:

    Question for BodyBugg users ..

    I didn't want to hijack the other thread, but I have a question. I know the bugg tracks your "activity level" - and that you have to imput your calories consumed into the computer (much like I currently do with calorie king). Does the bugg software allow you to add your own "custom" foods ? Also, does it have listings for all restaurants and supermarket brands, like calorie king does ? *also* Is it really just a "glorified" pedometer (only tracking steps) or does it really track how much you're exerting/burning ?
  24. I'll jump in and say that my surgeon did not give me "stages" either. I was on liquids for 2 days, and then when I spoke to him every day that week (I was running a fever) he told me that I could eat anything I could tolerate. He did say to keep it to small amounts of "meat" and "fiber" - but if I could tolerate it, I could have it. I went for my first fill last week, and when he saw my band on the screen, he said it was fine. Not all doctors follow the same philosophy - not all of our bodies are the same - not all of the bands we have are the same .. I say follow *YOUR* surgeon's instructions. He knows YOU. He knows what kind of band you have. He knows how he 'placed' it. Your surgeon isn't going to set you up to fail.
