Soft food stage. When you go out to dinner, what do you get?
Crissigus posted a topic in Food and Nutrition
I am 4 weeks out. On soft foods. Once a week, we go out to a pub for trivia and dinner. What kinds of things are you ordering when you go out that fit in a soft food diet? Is broccoli cheese soup out of the question? Fish? Shrimp? Just looking for some ideas.- 15 replies

Soft food stage. When you go out to dinner, what do you get?
Crissigus replied to Crissigus's topic in Food and Nutrition
I did go through the Beaumont Weight Control Center. It was not a good experience for me. I got a binder, it does not have anything past the pureed stage. When I inquired, all they said is that it should be in there. I have had to piece several items of information together from other sources. I can't even call the surgeon... they NEVER answer the phone. By default, it goes to voice mail. I was told that the binder comes from the surgeon's office. I love Dr Krause. But the program leaves something to be desired. -

If I had a list, I would gladly refer to it. I had a list for everything except soft foods. -
Sleeved 10/8 and nervous of getting a leak
Crissigus replied to dp81796's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As long as you are doing what you are supposed to (diet restrictions, lifting, etc) your chances of a leak go down every day. Just be sure you are doing the right stuff!! Welcome to the group! Don't advance your diet on your own... the stages are there for a reason. Get all of your protein, and drink your water, and you will be fine -
I too was sleeved on 10/1. How are you eating eggs? I am still on full liquid/puree (per Dr orders) I don't think you should be able to eat one now anyway... it is still healing.

Hi everyone, I am new here. I was sleeved almost a week ago on Oct 1. I also had a sizable hiatal hernia repair at that time so I am still having some discomfort from that. I still have a delayed pain when swallowing liquid. It isn't a bad pain, just noticeable. But the one thing that has really got me discouraged is the fact that I wake up every day a little lightheaded and with a raging headache. I am wondering if anyone else has had this happen? I am starting to feel like myself again, and I would like to restart my regular activities. It is hard when your head hurts all the time. Christina

I have been using Now Sports - Whey Protein Isolate Powder Natural. The unflavored one. I add it to pretty much everything right now. It really has no flavor, and it boosts the protein content. I have only been having 1/2 of a cup of food at a time, so i have been adding 1/2 scoop to stuff. Making a thinned out pea soup right now (no ham) and will be adding it to that as well...

Headaches every morning
Crissigus replied to Crissigus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a caffeine drinker as well... but I pretty much got off of that while in the hospital. I had no headaches really maybe 1 or 2 in the hospital... this is a new thing in the last 3 days. I am currently on the full liquid diet, and I am making some (thinned out and no ham) split pea soup... I think I will try to add some extra protein to it and see if that helps. I really cannot wait until I can have soft foods. This drinking everything is for the birds! Thank you all for your input! I am glad I am not the only one this has happened to! I was starting to worry about my blood pressure, but that has been ok. I am learning a whole lot of things from this site, and I hope to get to know everyone
