So...its going on 6 wks post op and i have totally stalled!! what am i to do?? I'm becoming super discouraged now. Even when i went for my follow up visit to the dr he made no mention of a stall being normal and expected/expects me to lose more weight. i read that perhaps adding calories and/or changing up meals may help. i'm inclined to believe that as last week i indulged in 3 glasses of wine and meat from a cheese steak and woke up 3lbs lighter!! (Finally, i saw movement!!!) I would like to know if i could get healthy meal ideas to switch up and add to confuse my body's metabolism to jump start my loss again. Just to add, i have been spinning, doing some strength trng and of drink plenty of Water all day long. i'm doing about 700-900 calories a day. my nut put me up to 800-1000 when i went to my follow up visit.

Anyone do great with the band and not the sleeve ?
HoneyBadGirl replied to Band07's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yes...i'm about 6wks out and at a complete stall!! i feel the same way, eat so little and nothing is happening. last wk i had a couple of glasses of wine and steak meat and lost saw a 3 lb loss in the morning. then about 3 days later the scale went back up 2 lbs. i can't figure this out!! with the band the weight just fell off the 1st couple of months. i'm getting discouraged. idk -
wow, funny u mentioned the stomach growling comment. u had me realize that my stomach DOES NOT growl anymore. unlike u, i am not starving but i moreso get head hunger. i feel content most of the day. i too, eat Proteins 1st and Water is all i drink!! i was told by my doctor to eat about 6 small meals a day but i read in a book i purchased that 3x a day is enough. i am finding that i feel content eating 3 meals, making the larger focus proteins on my plate, no carbs and a little veggies.

Sleeved 7/31 and i have only lost 18 pounds
HoneyBadGirl replied to Esmeralda75's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i was discouraged about my stall. 3wks after surgery i lost 17lbs and haven't lost a bit since!!! i have been taking my measurements and and am constantly losing so thats great!! not to mention a comment i received, which was, "u lost a loooot of weight!!" i would like to see a decline on the scale but i'm staying motivated by the lost of inches and clothes getting roomy. When i got the band in 2007, i lost 30lbs in the 1st month so i was kind of expecting to lose that with the revision. i'm still understanding the sleeve and practicing new eating habits as well as exercising. stay faithful to your good health and it will happen. -
Removing the Band....weight gain & recovery experience
HoneyBadGirl replied to PrettyPuffy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was banded 3/2007 and had the revision 9/2013. i had 1 procedure done, removal and sleeved. my recovery was great!!! actually, it was waaaaay better than when i got banded!! when i got banded i felt like i was hit by a truck in my stomach. it took a week to feel kind of normal again. when the revision was done, the 2nd day i was fine to up and around and hardly any pain. of course, everyone is different but i was pleasantly surprised. wishing you the best!! -
I had the sleeve done on 9/12/13. Back in 2007 I had the lap band and had some success but after becoming pregnant I put on most of the weight I loss and still struggled with gaining weight. Now I can't help but to compare my lap band experience with the sleeve in terms of discipline and weight loss in the 1st month. In the 1st month of being banded, I loss 30lbs and was totally & completely focused on proper nutrition. Of course seeing the pounds melt away was very motivational!! So now going into my 4th week after getting the sleeve, 2 wks in, I have lost 17lbs. I'm totally in a stall, which from what I'm seeing is normal but I'm also concerned because I still dabble in junk food. I crave carbs and I was never really a carb person before. I want crackers especially, potatoes, and not that I necessarily crave chocolate, which is my fav, but I wont turn it down if its readily available. (Its halloween time so everyone at work has candy on display). I don't binge on these things, just have a couple crackers or a few pieces of chocolate. I'm really disappointed in myself and I don't want to get so down on myself that I give up and fall back into bad eating habits. Any advice, encouragement, insight?? Thanks!!

Encouragement Needed
HoneyBadGirl replied to HoneyBadGirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
thank u sooooo much!! i really appreciate your support. i needed to hear that. today was a better day. i do believe finding support from a group would be beneficial. i too, would like to get insight on why i'm grazing and even why i have cravings for carbs(crackers). My nut told me why on my follow up visit but i can not remember!! i know i'm an emotional eater and right now in my life, i have tons of things going on. like, big deal things. i will continue on my journey taking one day at a time...1 meal at a time and trying to remain positive and focused. thanks again everyone!!!
