Clear liquid protein alternatives?
dfwtxmissy replied to potpieiii's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Unjury chicken and unflavored. I am getting to hate the Isopure but trying to use it so my hubs doesn't get upset for paying so much for it. -
I am 4 days out and have no problem getting into and out of bed as long as I take it slow. It gets better each day, I promise.

Want a hug without " space for jesus"
dfwtxmissy replied to RebecaSparkles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5-2 and the hubs is 6-0. We are able to hug close however I cannot reach up around his neck yet. That is where the pain comes in..He hugs me from behind and is real careful not to wrap his arms around my waist but around my chest..It will get better. -

dfwtxmissy replied to lillingtonnc's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Mine was 2 weeks prior. Protein shakes for 2 meals and soup at dinner. 2 snacks allowed of fat free cottage cheese, sugar free pudding or jello. I lost 15 pounds on it. 2 days prior, clear liquids only. -
My top 10 list for my 2nd week sleeved
dfwtxmissy replied to JanetPRN's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Mine makes the noises..this morning it actually sounded like it was hungry. I am 3 days out and am bored but still moving really slow. I actually finished 8 ounces of unjury chicken broth and have an isopure on the side that I have been sipping all day. I have lost 15 pounds tho can't tell where but if the scale says so, then so be it...I just look at this as an adventure. -
I have Aetna. I had to do 4 months with the dietician. Had the psych eval. Had the sleep study which I failed so had to get a machine. Had cardiac stress test because I am an ex smoker. Got my approval on September 20. Scheduled surgery for Oct. 7 after having the EGD and preop testing at the hospital. And here I am today, 3rd day postop. I just emailed Aetna with my policy information and got a response the next day with the approval. I knew before my doctor did.

I started taking Biotin 10,000 mcg about 2 months prior to surgery. I have thin hair as it is so I am trying to stay ahead. I cut my shoulder length hair off so its short and easy to manage. i don't use curling irons or straighteners so hopefully less damage. A good hair system to use is Nioxin...may or may not help. It's great for thin hair.

Bethin PA...I certainly hope so. I felt better today as I got to take a shower. Walked with the hubs approx half mile. I know it gets better. My main issue is that I am having a hard time getting in the protein that I need. I had almost 8 ounces of protein chicken broth so it was a start..

I too am on day 1 post op. Needless to say, I feel like crap. I am attempting to eat some jello but it's little bites and the sensation from it makes me nervous but I was told I would be feeling it. I too want to just sleep. My best friend had the procedure in May and she is my cheerleader. Please tell me it gets better because right now, all I want to is cry like a baby and curl up on the floor.

My name is Melissa. I am 50 and married with 2 grown kids and 4 grandchildren..so totally digging the whole grandparent thing. I live in Texas with my husband. We work together for a publishing company that deals with CPAs, tax attorneys and anyone that deals with taxes. We have been married for 11 years. I have a sister who is 9 years younger. My mom and birth control didn't quite jive. Our family is and always have been obese and I want to break the cycle now. Folks in my family have a tendency not to live beyond their 50's. I love to scrapbook and have more pics than I will ever get finished with before I die. My surgery is in 2 days and am excited for the new journey and nervous.
