The bummer part of it is that we don't get to wear the clothes that long before they outgrow us. The great part is we get to shop more....LOL
-
Medith....oh yes...I am proud. Still mind boggling as I haven't got to shop in the misses in 15 years. Even cleared out Old Navy..LOL..well not really but in my mind I did. I will hold my head up high...wearing cute clothes and rockin' my camo pants I bought...LOL
-
Exactly Georgia...I am so sure it is old thinking that we must get rid of...but you must agree we can't help but think this way. I even felt it in Goodwill..but my voice of reason, my husband is there to steer me to the clearance racks at Kohl's ...lol..It was just an interesting thought that I had. In my mind, I say to those folks who my mind think exist but I know better, BITE ME...mamas gonna shop...LOL

Thanks so much McButter. I am 5-2..have tried petites however I am long in the waist..so it makes it difficult to wear them..

I have found that misses 14 and 16 fit me better than plus. Evidently in the 55 pounds I have lost was my ass that went first and so plus tends to be baggy where a whole family can live in the butt of them. I actually got to walk into Kohls to the misses and buy 2 pairs of pants. The funniest part was my hubs was picking out the pants and carrying them around for me so that I could try them on.. And would folks please realize that there are short folks out there and we are not 6 feet tall? Sorry...got carried away. LOL

Good for you. It is an amazing feeling. I went from 20-22 to 14-16. Enjoy because you can only get smaller. I understand the too long part..I find it interesting now that stuff that would be perfect are now too lung. Craziness...Carry on and have fun with it.

You can come pack up my house. Gonna move soon and just not feeling it.
-
It will get better...I promise.

I just had some corned beef..it was delish and I am soooo full....Happy St. Paddy's everyone.
-
Cold all the time...all the time. Socks to bed, hoodie in the house and long sleeve shirts to sleep in. Light bill is outrageous because I have to crank up the heat. Pretty sad that I want a hot flash.
-
And I went today and got a pair of camo skinny jeans...LOL..I will so rock these..Thanks everyone for your warm fuzzies. It's an adventure for all of us and it can only get better.

So this may sound silly but I walked into Old Navy and walked out with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a new shirt. I have to say I teared up in the middle of the mall. The hubs just smiled and hugged me. It was greatness. I haven't ever got to buy something for me once there. It was awesome.
-
Thank you all. And then the hubs tells me he bought me a 50.00 gift card to Old Navy. Happy dance. Lol
-
Thank you grammy...I take it slowly as you can see from my weight loss..but it's a baby step toward the big prize. Long term...I am there for my beautiful grand babies. And I am healthy. I was told today by a fav waiter we have at Denny's that he would have never thought I was 50...I offered to adopt him...LOL

I have to say I did walk in Lane Bryant today and turned around and walked right back out. That alone was awesome. Unfortunately my upper half is still on the border line as I have the boobs from hell and shoulders of a right tackle but that too will get better...Had no clue there was such a thing as a 1X.

I was sleeved Oct 7, 2014..54 pounds down and waiting patiently to lose 2 more pounds so I can enter Onederland....then there is gonna be a party....of protein...LOL
-
Very much worth it. When you can walk into say JC Penneys and not have to go to plus size section, it is all worth it.
-
It will only get better. It is amazing how your self esteem will pick up with all warm fuzzies you will get. You will find yourself saying Thank You alot. Enjoy!

dfwtxmissy replied to xChdx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have high blood pressure however was kept in recovery a little longer because it was too low..they couldn't get it over 100.... I don't think you will have an issue with it. -

Good luck...piece of cake. -
For me..it's all about the inches..the rest will happen.
-
OMG...thought it was just me...butt bone hurts all the time...I have a pillow at work. I have found that sitting up straighter helps to a certain degree.
-
I am so glad I don't have those kind of folks around me. Y'all are doing right...Awesome job you two....

My biggest (and only) disappointment with WLS
dfwtxmissy replied to Sassy Pants1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No disappointment. I have stalls but refuse to focus on the pounds lost. Instead I watch the inches come off. The surgery is merely a tool. There will be times you think nothing is happening. Don't give in. I don't feel I have lost what I should but we are all different. I see the changes and it's not always in pounds. I have dropped from a size 24 to a size 16 misses in pants and a 1x or 18-20 in tops. Don't be discouraged. -
I love them...I am 50 and am going to get some camo pants..oh yes...you go girl. You can't go wrong with pink jeans..
