Ok so what's more important, the water intake, vitamin intake or the protein consumption?
KeeWee replied to KeeWee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This absolutely helps, never thought of the liquid vitamins. And I do use water for my Protein shakes and that 2 a day for about another 16 oz. I never thought to add that. I need my hair, Imma handle this today...off to Rite Aid for liquid vitamins. Thanks -
16 days out and back in the ICU
KeeWee replied to photochick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey there, sorry to hear about your situation but I am hoping you can educate us as well. I was sleeved on 4-23 and was back in the hospital also due to discolored drainage, it was neon green and even a brown color when it should have only been red or yellow. They sent me home without a problem saying that since there was no pain or fever, that it was not an infection but that the drain was showing gastric juices and possible feces. I dont know how that happens and its not a problem but I'm ok. I was wondering if you were given the blood clot injections to use at home and if you used them the entire time. I was suppose to use them for 14 days and only did for 5, just couldnt give them to myself. Yet i notice this horrible radiating pain on my right side around my shoulder and underarm area... what other symptoms other than pain did you have? How long did you experience the pain? I guess this far out, I should be ok, I hope. What is being done to correct this issue? Thanks -
6 Weeks Out and 25 pounds gone. Normal?
KeeWee replied to tekjr1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, Im only 2 1/2 weeks out and 28 lbs down and I think I have hit the dreaded 3 week stall. I've noticed a few days with a half a pound gain in the morning that was gone by the end of the day. I did always have Water retention issues so I also assumed it was that. I hope you get your answers. Good luck! -

Thanks a lot, very thoughtful of u! -
I'm wondering if I need to up my dosage...I have bad reflux all the time and I take the protonix pill day. I don't know which one I need more tho...protonix or gasx strips, I have a two punch that's killing me, indigestion and bloating mixed with a bit of heartburn and reflux. I wish I didn't have to eat at all, its so uncomfortable. Wish I could just live off of the multi Vitamins and supplements. I'm so turned off by food.

I look good and feel free from pain but this reflux is killing me...smh, it makes it aweful for me everyday...

4 months post op and I'm pregnant
KeeWee replied to cdunn's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congrats to you all....I pray to be here soon but not too soon even though, after 16 years of trying after my daughter, I been waiting patiently and I want it NOW!! lol -
Hey guys...I feel great every day until I try to eat or drink. I have heartburn/indigestion all day every day...I take protonix but it doesn't seem to help much. I need to try another drink other than Water to make it go down better cuz when I do drink, it feels like it goes down with a huge gas bubble and then it seeps Into my stomach slowly and I'm uncomfortable every moment. Its crazy but Yes, the drain was annoying but I had no issues with reflux or indigestion, I felt great with it and could eat and drink just fine, now...I dread anything to eat or drink. I hope this goes away over time cuz I just wanna feel as normal as possible again. Surgery was 4/23 and today down 27lbs. So far, only walking but as of Wednesday, I will be stepping it up to Cardio 4x a week. I'll keep u posted.
-
Finally had my drain removed Wednesday and feeling so much better. I'm outta all my clothes already...yaay! (Kinda) I'm 2 weeks and 2 days out and 27 lbs down...having trouble gettin in liquids and protein...smh. I'm work in on it.

-
You guys are all doing great! I'm 2 weeks out as of today, 22lbs down and I feel great! Looking forward to my first post op appt today to remove my drain so I can really maximize my workouts...I only walk right now. Good luck all..

Today is my 2 week post op appt and I'm hoping to have this drain removed. I'm 22 lbs down and I feel great other than this freaking drain hanging outta my stomach, I don't even feel like I can workout yet...I only walk. I cheated at my week and a half mark and paid for the next 2 days by being unable to eat or drink and being completely uncomfortable sitting, standing or laying...the worse. NEVER EVER AGAIN will I allow myself that kind of pain for pleasure. Though I feel fine, I was hospitalized for the color of my drain but was told that the green and brown being drained was unexplainable since I had no pain, no fever, blood work was perfect and CT Scan showed no leaks or other issues...,it was a horrible.color and smell so alarms went off but hopefully now that the color has returned to safe yellow and its less than 5 ml, I need them to remove this thing so I can start living! Check these colors and if u see them go to the ER right away...your drain should only produce red or straw yellow fluids....

What are the signs and symptoms of these conditions? I had 2 serious coughing spells and with this hernia repair, the jp drain and 1week old stitches, I'm concerned how sensitive our Insides are. The sleeve incisions didn't hurt at all but the slicing burn around my belly button and drain site concern me. I was lying on my back when it started and it hurt so bad I had to hold the hernia repair wound and the exit for the jp drain really tight but the coughing was like a serious hacking cough. I coughed up a thick stiff pile of darkened mucous, it was a dark dirty green color. And instantly my jp drain started draining blood again instead of the straw yellow that it's been for the past 2 days. I can worry too much and just need to hear what normal coughing experiences might have caused. Can I tear the staples inside or more likely affect the outter incisions? Heavy coughing ever cause a leak??

If your like most people i've experienced here....the closer the day gets the more u will talk yourself in and out of it. Anxiety will cause weird New habits also But congrats to u, you'll do great!

Sleeve tested, stomach approved, brain in disagreement!
KeeWee posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So today was my first day out of the house. I got the urge to test out a chicken nugget from McDonald's, it was only 1 but I was willing to see the reaction...I know it was a bad idea but honestly my stomach gave me no issues at all after FINALLY getting one down but my brain has me feeling like I just tried to commit suicide. I hope that changes over time, the only fried food I like is chicken and French fries, I can minimize the amounts without a problem but will it always feel like sabotage? -

I guess what I was trying to say was that yea, even tho it went down ok, it was not as satisfying due to knowing how to do better and me kicking myself for it. My mind was weak for the test but not the urge..No more! Done deal! -

I wanted to know if a small amount of something "bad" would affect me. It may be too soon, I agree but I definitely want to be able to pop a nugget and move on. Friends of mine that had this surgery tell me every day that I'm obsessing over nothing....relax but that's because they were not taught how eat after surgery, they had no classes or knowledge and just signed up for the study and it's been 8 yrs for them both and they are successful yet they eat whatever they want and even can drink the same as before. They try to tell me relax, now I can live just not be so greedy. They said I would be fine but only try one and I did and I'm still alive...lol. but I did it, now over it, my brain won't let me rest. I'm over it!!! -
I wish I had a chance to notice the signs and symptoms, by the time I noticed anything was wrong with my gallbladder, I was in the ER screaming in pain and preparing for emergency surgery. My suggestion is...don't wait..make a way to deal with that...asap!
