So when you go to Mexico for plastics, do you have to pay up front or do they finance? -

That's it! I'm going to be much happier when I turn 43 than 42 in Jan... I'm just ready... I'm mostly worried about thinning hair. I'll take biotin, but really don't want to have it thin for life... Does it grow back?
-
I'm 41, will be 42 in Jan. and READY to change my life for good! I'm divorced 4 years now, and I'm ready to start living again... I have 100-120 lbs to lose to goal, and I'm thinking about a TT and possible breast lift afterwards. I'm ready!!!!

I worry about getting in enough nutrients and fiber, so I'm getting a Blendtec to help with that. I can easily have a green smoothie on the daily and feel good about it.
-
Completely amazed by the Blendtec! Saw it at costco this weekend> SO saving for one for my xmas gift to self!

Don't forget many vegetables have protein! You can add some silk tofu into a veggie soup for a Protein and fiber rich soup if you don't want animal protein in every meal. Cancer reducing veggies are great for skin too! Eat the rainbow! http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/nutrition/healthy-eating/7-high-protein-vegetables-to-include-in-your-diet.html#b

How did you know this would be diff from normal dieting?

This is the question I'm obsessed with pre-op. So tired of failing. -
I'm at the same point as you... Had my NUT, Dr. visit, Psych Eval, and they're submitting to ins. today. Praying I don't have a 6 month wait (diet), because I too want this in December or first week of Jan.

I quit smoking 3 days ago, on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. At my PA visit. He asked if I smoked, and how much, and I said 3-4 per day, and he told me how it impedes healing and can cause the stomach to leak. That was it! Left that appointment, and tossed my brand new pack (and lighter) in the garbage bin on the hospital can on the way out. Not looking back. Just hoping my past smoking doesn't delay the surgery any!

That's great! It can be done...

Quit cold turkey today!!! At my physical they asked and told me healing would be compromised as a smoker so it would run the risk of a leak. Also loose skin is worse in smokers... Left the appointment and threw all my cigs in the trash at the hospital. Forget that!

So I have United HC Choice Plus PPO (90/10 option, with a deductible of $300 medical $1800 annual, so my out of pocket will be $2100). My employer doesn't require anything but medical/psych clearance, dr. note, and 40 BMI or 35-39 BMI w/1 co-morbidity. I specifically asked whether I had the requirement of a 6-mo medically supervised diet, and they said no, not with my coverage. Praying that's the case because I want surgery in December!!!
-
Initial Consult, NUT class went well on Tuesday! Now Dr. session and psych eval tomorrow, then Dr. can send off my letter to insurance for approval! Praying no 6 month supervised diet!!!!

1200 Calorie. *6 Month Diet*
caligirl3 replied to Rach34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm submitting to insurance this month and hoping I don't have to do a supervised diet for 6 months. If I lose even 5 pounds, I will not be in the 40BMI range anymore, and with no co-morbids, I will be denied for sure! I can lose 20 or so pounds, but never more than that. I'm so scared they're going to make me do this, and then deny me afterwards. -

I'm so jealous of you all!!! I will have my paperwork submitted to insurance before end of October, so the earliest I would be is Dec. sometime. I'm PRAYING they don't make me do the 6 month WL plan... -
San Diego, California Anyone?
caligirl3 replied to BubbysMeema's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know!!! Well, today is my info session and NUT appt, then Friday is my Dr appt. then all I'll need (I think) is my psych eval and to attend one group support session. My ins hopefully will get the letter at the end of oct and I'm praying for a nov or dec date! Yeah, we could totally support each other. I'm nervous but mainly excited. I'm a single mom of two and my weight is holding me back in life. Done sitting on the sidelines. My ex ran off with his mistress and lives with her and I've put on te pounds. Feeli sorry for myself for 4 years. I'm going to change all that!
