How much do your tastes change post-op? Still crave the same things?
sophiepants replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 7 wks out and have none of my old cravings! Thank God! I'm prayn they don't come back either. I was a sweet eater and fast food hound I've thought about both when "head hunger" rears her nasty head but have tasted neither one. I just made zucchini brownies yesterday and have not ate one!! It's weird... -

My week is going BAD
sophiepants replied to donaboss's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance required me to do 3 months supervised diet and a sleep study test along with a few other things. I'd call insurance for sure. Good luck -
OK, I'm wondering when asked about how much weight you've lost do you reply with the total amount. Meaning from the first doctors appointment, to include the medically supervised diet and pre op diet. Or just from the day of surgery on? Do you tell different people different weights, as in 50 since surgery and 60 before for a total of 110? Or on here is it the total over all or just since surgery? I find myself telling family and friends the longer version, and on here on my ticker just since surgery. Just wondering how others view there success? Any comments are helpful

I just had that happen to me this morning. My sister was walking behind me and says....(geesh sis you really have lost a bunch of weight, I don't see fat anymore) then looks at me and says sorry that came out wrong! I love her but It's and example of how people see you. It brought me back to my younger years when she used to tease me about being chubby. Old feeling welled....then I brought myself back to the knowledge I DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT! I took control. Anyway I totally understand Your success is inspiring!!! Congrats

I'm with ya!! I think a loss is a loss but Its strange how we break it down to people. Here it's different. Everyone does a breakdown which is helpful and so inspiring!!

Sleeve size and leaks
sophiepants replied to kvdme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon used a 40 bogie. Which I didn't find out until I asked 2 wks after. It took me a few to be ok with it but I'm glad he did. I can eat 1/2 cup or 4oz of food at one time and sometimes I cant even finish that. I read somewhere it may depend on your stomach, if its long or if its short. But I'm not a doctor so IDK -

sophiepants replied to tampa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 7 wks out with a loss of 35 pounds. At 6 wks I got turned lose to eat regular foods Hafta say It was a great day!! I've ate white chicken chili with gluten free cornbread ,taco's, Omelets with, ham, taco meat (left over from dinner the night before) along with some of the fixin's and cheese .Broccoli cheese soup. Meat loaf. Quiche with turkey, ham or just cheese and veggies. Today I try'd bbq pork jerky as a snack.. (it was heaven) Turkey meatballs with cream of mushroom soup. Turkey meatballs with 0 calories, 0 sugar ect dressing. Tonight I made a recipe I found on here for cheesy meatballs (3 oz) and try'd steamed carrots (1 oz) total 4 oz. didn't even finish my meal. 2 bites of meat left and 2 of carrots. Also tuna fish and crackers. It was a great feeling knowing I had our tool to stop me from eating until I puke! -
Ok, so I was wondering if eating a whole boiled egg is better or if just the egg whites are? I don't mind eating them either way as long as I have some salt on them. I just want to do the correct thing eating wise. Does it depend on my daily calorie intake to really decide to eat or not to eat yoke. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

No cholesterol issues here. That makes perfect since! Then I will eat my whole egg, enjoy it and just count it in my calories!!! Thank you

I was on Prilosec also for the first month. I did find however it wasn't enough to stop it from creeping up on me. I used liquid Gaviscon. I keep it in the fridge. hope that helps
