Surgery in Mexico
terri82much replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It said it was due to scar tissue. So it is how her body healed not necessarily the surgeons fault or the fact that it happened in Mexico. It is unfortunate but there are risks with all surgeries whether done in Canada or US or Mexico. I personally had my surgery in Mexico and had a very good experience and the rooms and hospital were a lot cleaner than ones I have seen in my own country. The government is upset saying it is costing them to fix surgeries but they have no idea how many people are going to Mexico with self pay. All of these people that are going are saving the government money because they are now able to lose the weight that is causing co-morbidities such as diabetes, heart disease, blood pressure problems that cause them to use health care and prescription medications. After losing the weight many patients have claimed to be medication free within a couple of months. This is just a piece of garbage journalism, how about a piece on the benefits??? -

Yes, I was cleared to work out at my 6 week check up. I do cardio 5X a week....either my treadmill or elliptical and I just started the 30 squat challenge( the easy one)! What's the 30 squat challenge??? If I lose any more weight in my ass I won't have one! I gotta build some cheeks!!! -
Weigh once a week!!!! Trust me you will be ever so happy you did!

So, should I be 'disappointed', 'flattered' or 'indifferent'?
terri82much replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like they all need a swift kick in the keester!!! LOL -
I quit for the surgery and 6 weeks late started up again. I know its hard but when you lose smoking and food for stress relief/comfort it was too much for me. I hope I mean I WILL quit again soon!!!

I think it just goes to show how hard we actually can be on ourselves. I feel like I had the whoaaaa! monment a couple weeks ago when I actually looked at my face in the mirror instead of trying to see all the changes on my body. I didn't recognize myself! what I saw was a pretty young fashionable woman who looked incredibly happy. Now maybe she has been here all along and I just didn't see it but there certainly has been a change for me and not just on the outside. I think I get what your saying Rev and I did see a picture of you a couple weeks back and you look incredible so maybe it is just you that can't see it or haven't recognized it yet and perhaps what your friends have said has been true all along. You already were beautiful! -
Ugh, still feel hungry!

Premier Protien shakes are also very good. 30g of protien low carbs only 160 calories and the chocolate is just like chocolate milk 2%. I was lucky with my liquids starting day 4 I was allowed anything that could fit through a straw so I thinned yogurt out with milk and ate that. It was filling. if you are looking for protien the greek plain yogurt tastes a lot like sour cream maybe you could try that in your soups instead. I use it on taco recipes instead of sour cream it honestly tastes great and punches up the protien. -
So Happy to be "Overweight"!

Tattoos after surgery and weight loss
terri82much replied to RSifers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My SO has two full sleeves of tattoos and lost 130 pounds. They still look good. Probably depends on where you have them and where the weight comes off. -
I start Phase 2 of my diet tomorrow and I still have no desire for food, is that normal?
terri82much replied to Chris619's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YES!!! I had a total aversion to food period! It will get better, I am able to eat pretty much anything I want now at nearly 12 weeks out. I try to stick the plan as much as I can but if I want a cookie, I have a cookie...ONE cookie! LOL -
Ah India and Australia!!!! I wish!!! Saskatchewan Canada in February and all I can say is BRRRRRRR!!!!! I have taken to wearing slippers to bed since the surgery I"m so cold and the snow and wind isn't helping!!! Enjoy! lol

nightmares about food

I had a dream the other night that I was sitting down and the skin from my thighs were touching the floor!!! I guess I'm worried about loose skin more than I thought! THat dream was completely irrational because I don't have that much weight to lose or the possibility of my skin to be that loose!!! Dreams are weird! Anyone want to analyze these for us??? lol -
How much were you losing at 2 months?
terri82much replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
3 pounds per week is freakin awesome!!! Don't compare yourself to everyone else, everyone loses at different rates. I'm down 42 at 11 weeks so I would say you are very average! -
I wouldn't mind so much if......
terri82much replied to longtimecoming7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have a bite or two and take that reward u deserve it. You can't not have anything for the rest of your life! Sometimes its what the body needs for a kick start. All in moderation and special occasions and enjoy!!! -

Ok 10 weeks out and I am half way to my goal of 80 pounds!!! 40 pounds down so far. Love my sleeve and feel like a new woman. Has anyone else looked in the mirror and not really recognize yourself anymore? I got done up Friday, put on my new size M sweater and my yellow leather jacket that I haven't been able to wear in 2 years and just stared at my reflection thinking WOW! Is that really me??? Maybe that sounds ridiculous but it was very strange!!! I must also mention that I had a very difficult year with a marriage splitting up after 21 years together (since I was 19) and a teenager that got into some drugs and just a very traumatic year. I feel so much more confident now and stronger emotionally that I feel like and evidently look like a whole new person!!! For the better I might add!
