Hi I'm almost done with my supervised diet but felling confused. Is the supervised diet consist of 26 weeks? I completed two sessions of three months each of 12 weeks. I don't want to get denied because of something so petty. Any advise is it completion of 2 (12 week rounds) or a total of 26 weeks? Am currently at week 22

Hi we started the same time! I started my weight loss class in August and ending first week of feb! How are you holding up? After my classes are completed they will send a referral to the surgeon and hoping to get everything taken care of in feb and have surgery march. They said the process of psych eval, approval and surgery date can me 1 month long so I'm hoping time will fly. Keeping my fingers crossed all goes as well.

I'm in the same boat!! I thought I had two weeks left for my six months but it's 4! I'm super bummed out because I don't want to get denied for being below 40 BMI with one comorbidity. I wonder if they can still send the referral to see the surge region knowing I only have two more weeks and will continue to attend until my surgery? I just want to star the ball rolling I'm super anxious and excited for this new journey

Wow congratulations! I'm super excited but nervous with not knowing. But just realized that I need to complete 26 weeks not 24. I just need to be careful with my bmi since I don't want to go below and not qualify. Good luck and keep up the great work

Jan 20 I will complete my insurance required supervised diet. What should I expect? I'm nervous and anxious. Any advise or suggestions on what's next. I know I will need to get a referral to see the surgeon and then get my eval and play the waiting game for my insurance to approve. I can't believe it the day is almost here to finally know if I will qualify or not. I've been looking forward to this, but scared of rejection. I've lost 46 total pounds so far on the diet.

Thanks for your support and story. I wished mines would understand and see it for what it really is. I've tried anything and everything. I lose an gain all of it and more. I go weekly but assumed since each round is 3 months long I would complete 2 and be done. Like I mentioned I thought I had two weeks to go but I was wrong I have 4 more weeks to go. Which I don't mind but I don't want to go below 41 bmi just like yourself. I've already lost 42 pounds and losing 6 more pounds will put me at 40. I'm scared if I go below I will not qualify. I'm super nervous and anxious, I just wished I knew already.

Thanks i have thought if that and will do that if necessary. I'm going to schedule an appointment with my primary. Hopefully she will see how I'm improving and doing the surgery can only help my Health. If not I'll change MD and stay with the MD that is supervising my weight loss since he is family practice as well. Thank you again for your support.

Thanks for your story. It's encouraging knowing I'm not alone. I know this is a long journey but it's worth it. I have sleep apnea and high blood pressure. I'm hoping with the studies that where completed prior (EKG , blood work , fatty liver) to starting the medically supervised diet I was a good candidate. It's just nerve wrecking since I don't have support from my primary. But hoping for the best I know this will happen. According to my calculations I should get a date for March begun of April. Keep your fingers crossed

Thanks, I've been wanting this surgery for a long time but according to my primary I wouldn't qualify. I went to a seminar and meet with another dr and he said I would and placed me on the diet plan. I'm anxious , since I've read a lot of post and they all have met with the surgeon prior. The MD that oversees the medical diet said he would send a referral to the surgeon and I would just wait so I'm hoping his correct, since my primary MD isn't to thrilled with me taking " The easy way out" I've been obese all my life and on my mother side all woman or morbidly obese. I want to stop the cycle and be happy in my skin. I want to be healthy and live life. This is a tool, not the easy way out . I'm anxiously waiting to finish classes then see what happens.

Congrats on the approval I'm still mid way my supervised diet super anxious and excited. It is hard because I have good and bad weeks but making the most of it 28lbs down. I'm doing the diet before I meet I'm with the surgeon and that's what's killing me and playing mind games. I wish I just knew if I would get approved or not.

I know it's silly but I can't help it. I should complete the program by end of January. And hoping the process to meet with the surgeon will go fast and approval as well. Im in San Diego, two months I to my required 6 months. Any suggestions to the process. I'm a newbie. Basically I'll I've been told is to complete the 6 months then I will be sent to the surgeon and psych evaluation to get approved by my insurance. But nothing else really. I'm excited but anxious. I'm 8 into my weight management required classes. So excited to have them done and start the process I just want to hear or see the words YOUR APPROVED. I'm 8 weeks into the 6 months weight management. It's hard but wry doable. just stay focused! I created a board with pictures when I was smaller and also of clothes I want to wear to help motivate me. I have been trying to get this surgery done for years but now it seems my dream will finally come true! Best wishes to everyone!

I'm three months in and have three more to go. It's difficult but as long as your determined and stay focus on the NEW you. It will get easier and you will feel proud of your self. But I haven't started the process or the rep approval for surgery yet. Does anyone have any info or details on your journey (step by step)

No I haven't. What do I ask ? And is that I red flag for them?
