Hey Danny... thanks for the advice! I am leaving at 5:45 am. I have been told I need to be at the airport 2 hours in advance and I have also been told 3 hours in advance. That means I have to leave either at 3:00am or 2:00 am to get to DFW airport from where I live. Did you have to arrive 2 or 3 hours before your flight!! Dini, I am in on the cruise!! Great idea..... I am 33. I just moved to Frisco...just north of Dallas, Texas. I love being in this area. I am a teacher, but looking to get as Assistant Principal job. I was an A.P. for 2 years in West Texas but went back to teaching when I moved. I am single and have never been married. I have been in several long term relationships, but for whatever reason they didn't work out. I too realized that I have always found such pleasure in food, but also guilt because I would overeat or eat the wrong things....such an ugly cycle!! My defining moment when I decided I had to do something was...as terrible as this may sound....I am not a judgemental person, just honest!! I realized I didn't want to date a fat or overweight man. But I struggled with why I wasn't dating alot......I do have a pretty face and a great personality (uuuggghhhh....we all hate to hear that!!) How could I expect men to date a fat girl? This was my ah-ha moment! Has anyone else in the dating world felt this way...

Thanks for all you for thoughts and opinions on if we are taking the easy way out..... I agree with whoever said that it is the only way out!! Thanks for the reassurance!! I am being banded on Tuesday!! :whoo:I am super excited, not really nervous, but startimg to wonder if I am making the right decision. :phanvanI am self pay....So I keep thinking how much money I am spending......could I do it on my own.....One more attempt and one more failure?!? I then get back into my senses and realize how many attempts to loose weight. I loose 18 then gain 20. I have probobaly lost the same 20 pounds 6 times!! Did any of you feel like you may be taking the easy way out?

Hey all!! I hope you all are feeling well and taking care of yourselves. As of tomorrow, I have one week before my BIG DAY!! :whoo: I am trying to get everything in order before my surgery, because as many of you are now experiencing .....I don't see myself wanting to go to the grocery store right after. So, :help: I am making a list of groceries for week 1: liquid diet!! Any suggestions?

Hey Danny!! Goooood Luck!! We will all be thinking about you!! I am a itsy bit jealous that I am not getting mine done this week also....I have to wait one more week. I guess its best. Hey all!! my screen name is Gladster12. Last name is Gladden. My guy friends in highschool called me "the gladster" so I added 12. Kinda boring......but it gets the job done!! I am off to take a friend to the airport...... Wonder if I should clean out my closet today? Will I loose weight in my feet? Maybe I should organize only and not get rid of anything because it is too small!! What do you think? Here is another question of the day...... How is your closet organized???? I am dying to read and get some new ideas!!!

People are sooo sweet to say that I have a pretty face and a great personality!!! But to me what they are saying is my body is less than pretty. Yes, as shallow as it may sound....I am embarrassed about my weight. All of my friends are slim and beautiful. I don't want to be the designated fat girl anymore!! I try to dress cute, have fun and be myself. But for me......I want more. I want to have a slimmer figure!! I deserve that for myself!! WOW!....as I go back and read what I wrote it does sound terribley shallow.....but I'm really not shallow. My mom once told me, "sometimes us big girls have to try a little bit harder to be noticed!! " Sad, but I do believe that!

Reconciler, I read your post on the Julybandsters thread and share very much your same story. The only difference is I don't smoke and I'm in my early thirties. I have been on every diet, diet pill and only had short term results. I am flying to Monterrey on July 17th as well. What time do you arrive in Monterrey? I arrive at 9:29 AM. I am going by myself and am a little nervous, but sooo excited at the same time!! Good luck to you ob your adventure!!

Hey Danny, I am glad that your wife gets to go with you. I think its great!! I waited too long to tell my mom and dad about having my surgery. Now that my mom knows, she wants to come with me but has a huge project meeting that day and can't get a decently priced flight. So I have decided to do at it alone!! I don't think Alltel or Sprint work internationally. I aksed the very same question of my dr. He said I would have to remove a block to allow international call from my phone, but offered to let me use his cell phone to call my parents from Monterrey. Sounds like you are getting ready to be banded and on your way to meet your goal!!

Thanks WASaBubble Butt..... I appreciate your info. I am self pay and live in Dallas Texas. He is somewhat close by air. So that is one reason I chose him. He has provided me with an after care doctor here in Dallas that is very reputable also. I am very excited and nervous, but definatly ready to make a change in my lifestyle!!

The best are folks like Aceves, Ortiz, Rodriguez from Monterrey, and Rumbaut. They don't have the infection rate that your doc does.

<p>I am looking and researching Mexican doctors. I have communicated several times with Dr. Arturo Rodriguez of Monterrey. He seems to have a great reputation and many successes. Anyone have an opinion?</p>

Hello Danny, How are you? I did have to change my date to July 17. I didn't allow enough time to get receipt of application for my passport. I am using Dr. Arturo Rodriguez. He proctors and trains many of the US doctors. I did lots of research and both names had lots of great stuff!! Are you using Rumbaut?

Hey Danny, Congrats!! I am also being banded on June 9 in Monterrey also, although I may have to change my date if I don't get my passport. I am also going by myself. I was told to be sure to ask for a wheelchair at both airports on your way back. Good Luck!! Michelle

I am so glad I found this website. I have been reading many of your posts for advice and information. I will be banded on July 9th. I am 217lbs with about 80 pounds to lose. I am very excited and nervous. Wish me luck!!
