susis replied to Techynerd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck to you! You will do great! Just having that support is most of the battle! -
Hey, thanks for this! I am 4 weeks post op, and haven't started exercising yet due to a post op infection.......yeah, that and laziness! But I am in, thanks Butter....for starting this! My goal is 30 hours of exercise this month. I know that equals at least an hour a day! Sooooo....I'd better get started now!

Surgery scheduled for 11/5 - fearful!
susis replied to BigD35's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am three and half weeks post op and I also had those "concerns". I wouldn't call them fears, but just concerns. I love to cook. To me that is how I show my love to my family. I also enjoyed my wine, pretty much on a daily basis. (And my coffee)!. But my love for myself and my health was greater than those. I still cook, just can't eat what I have prepared. I have my own little meals. And yes, I have gone off wine and coffee cold turkey. Do I look at my wine rack longingly? Yes.....but I also look at the scale with greater admiration! Dinner and drinks,.....and everything for that matter, will change. It has to....I couldn't keep drinking and eating that way if I wanted to be healthy. Don't worry, once you have the surgery, you just won't have any room for all that food! -
What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
susis replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am sooo happy for you that you could share your story! Thank you, it brought tears to my eyes.We have all been somewhere where you were. Good luck to you in your journey. -
Yep, I do dream of food also. I am three weeks post op, last night I had a dream I ate a big dish of spaghetti with meatballs, and a lot of pasta, with a piece of garlic bread. I woke up so worried that I would ruin my sleeve with all that pasta! What a relief when you realize it's just a dream!!

Hi! I will be three weeks out on Wednesday. I did have a bad infection in one of the incisions, the one on the right abdomen, which is the one where they pull the stomach out thru. I also had my gallbladder out at the same time, and they think that is what caused the infection. So....I am dr. ing that, but other than that, I feel great. Still on puree, will start softs on Tuesday. Still off work, dr. didn't want me back until I am more healed. Oh....lost 25 pounds since surgery, but......pants still as tight as they were before surgery!! Not regreting this at all!

susis replied to beauty29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, same thing with me! I am 15 days post op, and I was hoping that my tight 22 would at least not be so tight, but no luck! I am down 25 pounds, and my tops are getting big, but pants.....nada! -
Oh my god, that is so funnnny!!! I too had pickle cravings, (I am 2 weeks post op). I just attributed it to my usual love of pickles! I also drank the brine. Olives too.........anyone crave those?

I too, am relatively new, and this site is awesome! So much to learn that you won't learn at dr. office. Just keep checking in everyday, I plan on even after weight loss, to help maintain.

Ooooopssss., I don't know how to work my ticker, but I am down to 255 today!

It def gets better! I am two weeks post op today, and my first 5 days were miserable! I was crying to a lot, but now this week, just 1 week later, I am feeling soooo much better, and down 22 pounds! It really doesn't take long, but I know when you are in the throes of the painful part, it's hard to believe! Pretty soon it will be US with our before and after pics!

45 here, and just 13 days post op, and I can't believe how much different I feel already! Lost 20 pounds, and even though I don't "look" a whole lot different yet, I "feel" a lot different~ better, sexier, you name it! Can't wait to to be "healed" from surgery and start living!!

Sleeve Myths or Reality?
susis replied to RichardVST's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very well said, Butterthebean! That's exactly right! Obviously, we need help and guidelines, also, (not trying to be rude), we don't have 12 years of medical school!! -
I too, am just under two weeks! Congrats on your weight loss! Are you getting enough protein and water? I know everyone says that, but it's true. I felt really crappy my first week, and then I was able to get protein and water in, and felt a million x better! Good luck!

Social gatherings are rough!
susis replied to 140icandoit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! You just survived your first social outings.......of which there will be many more! Please do not feel guilty not eating! If people know about your surgery...they will understand. And if they don't understand...too badl You need to look out for yourself...no one else. You are what is important here. It will be hard to get over the feeling of "social obligation" to eat at gatherings, but this is the way it's going to be for the rest of your life! Good Luck! -

So this is my first blog here, or anywhere, actually. I am six days post op, just starting my "full liquid" week, and tolerating it pretty well. I have been heavy all my life, one time I actually lost 100 pounds on my own, and I felt like a movie star! I was light as a feather, and full of life! Of course, gained it all back again within 10 years. I can't believe it had to come to this, but here I am. Today I am feeling pretty sorry for myself. Did any of you guys feel like that post surgery? It seems impossible to get all the water and protein in that is required. Would love any feedback.
