Hi. I was banded on 6/28 and slept on my tummy that night in the hospital. It was uncomfortable to do the actual turning, but my tummy felt okay laying on it. I did you a rolled up towel to slightly prop up one side, Good Luck!

My doc said to day 5 liquids only (not just clear...just liquid)...day 5-10 anything pureed is okay...as long as you can suck it through a straw. Heck, give me a big enough straw and I'm eating a WHOPPER!! hahahaha

Please explain difference between working and stuck (food)
Chele replied to Oilburner's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am a nurse and when feeding tubes become clogged , we would use meat tenderizer to breakdown and soften the obstructed food. It worked some of the time. When someone comes to the ER with food stuck in their esophagus, i swear by having them sip on coke. I have had really good results with Coke, (never used it in conjuction with a lapband blockage..)..It takes a little bit but i have seen it clear obstructions..although i do not know how the carbonation would feel on your tummy. -
How was your recovery 1 week after surgery
Chele replied to too much of me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i WAS SOOO BLOATED and miserable I called the nurse. She said to get gas-x and take it 4 times a day. I know that won't help much with the inside air...but it sure has reduced trhe burps. I am about 50% less bloated today than i have been. I feel more relief..but the hunger is getting to me. I licked the mayo off of a knife when i made my daughters sandwich and it was all i could do from taking a big ol bite out of it. ....but....i do feel better..and a little scared..i want to feel GOOD not just better. ..that and a cheeseburger (haha)..the gas-x helped but not totally. What i found encouraging today is looking at the before and after pics on this web site. It really gave me a boost today. I hope i can post my pic there in a few months! So, if you are new and not banded yet, dont be scared, learn from this. I really thought I would have very minimal problems like my friend..this is an operation, and you have to go into it with both eyes opened. -

I told my family that if they hear a loud noise it's probably me exploding. I know it will feel better...but right now I am pretty miserable. It is nice to know i am not the only one feeling this way. I had pureed chicked with gravy tonight. It tasted pretty good...i ate about 3 ounces,,,,i just couldn't look at it (yuck)..... -

I really just didn't expect to feel this bad. I am not one to lay down, especially with a 7 year old, but dang, my belly is huge..... and it really is uncomfortable. ((and YES..i would like some cheese with my whine))!! -

2nd Day Pre-Op Diet-Harder Than I Thought
Chele replied to wishmeluck13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on thurs. I got to eat runny mashed potatoes today ..it was HEAVEN>>>> but i do have to say that I am still bloated, gassy, and generaly, a little achy...my appeptite is just mot there since i did the 2 weeks of liquids and then the clears post-op. I want to eat but the desire is kind of gone. I think it is because i do not feel as good as i thouight i would by now...and i do not want to feel any worse.
