Did you get approved? I just switched my insurance and now I have the advantage epo
-
Does anyone know if hbcb of nj Advantage epo covers the sleeve and what are their requirements?????? How long to get approved?
-
October has been the longest month.... I have literally spend last month searching the best insurance. I had the school insurance which excluded sleeve then I was gonna go under my moms insurance (I'm 25) which also didn't cover sleeve. I decided to pay almost 400$ for insurance but my dad put me under his which I know covers sleeve.. Sooo excited. I also have to get a clear from my cardiologist. I have two more tests to go... I have an appointment with my primary doctor next Saturday and the following Thursday with the sergeant. Any questions I should ask him???

So I finally applied for horizon today since my school insurance doesn't cover bariatric surgery but horizon does.. Anyone knows if horizon blue cross blue shoes epo plus makes you wait the 3months/6months before approved? Please please please share.... I'm in the process f getting cleared from my cardiologist only 3 more tests to go woohooo .. I found out that I have a little high cholesterol and blood pressure. I am finally a BMI of 35.5... This should be enough right?

So as of all here, we want that surgery so BAD... The first problem was how the hell am I going to pay for it?! Since my mom realized how much I really really REALLy want this, she added me to her insurance which I'm 90% sure they will cover the surgery. The insurance will start on November 1st. So that's GOOD news right? Well now I got another obstacle that I must fix. I had coarctation of aorta surgery 10 yrs ago. So I went to see my cardiologist to clear me and she has me do an ECHO today at 7Am. Since I was at work, I didn't check my phone but had 3 missed calls which I got worried. Anyhow I got in touch with her and she's having me do an MRI, chest x-Ray, stress test and possibly more to make sure that I'm ok and she said that the coarctation of aorta can happen again which scares me because I have suffered so much from it. And I never want to go there again.. I am only 25 btw. Now my BMI is only 34.4 but I just found out my cholesterol is a little high and I have high blood pressure. I think this should be enough for the insurance right??????????? I only went to the seminar last week and now I have to put everything on hold until November 1st at which time my insurance will kick in and I made an appointment to my primary doctor for November 9th and surgeon for the 16th. In the mean time I will go do all my tests my cardiologist is requesting to clear me.. Sorry for the long post I just don't know who to tell and be so honest with... Encouragements would be appreciated it. I just hope I'm not doing this for nothing and insurance will not cover. It does say bariatric surgery-covered. So that's a plus sign right????

Does horizon allow you to add a brother or sister in the insurance under the age of 26???????????? -
Ok guys so my job does not offer insurance, however, I have school insurance which is great but it does not cover management loss wright programs. So then I was really upset and now my dad, mom & sister will ask their insurances to add me so i can have this surgery ASAP. Although they don't want me to have since my BMi is only 34.4 I still want it and they are supporting me to get this done. Plus worse comes to worse I can purchase a private insurance so it's great that I have 4 other chances to make this happen woohoooo I am so happy that I can't study lol.. Please pray for me because I want this so bad like there is nothing else better

So just few days ago I decided I want to have the sleeve.. No changing minds here! My seminar is only 2 days away and I'm ready to go to surgery today, right now as a matter of fact lol... I WISH I'll be set by end of October. I will do everything I can to make my process faster than ever!!!! I convinced my sister in law to do it with me and now I feel better that I will have someone who will be going through the same thing .. My sister did it in February and she lost over 70lbs... I hate the fact that insurances make you wait few weeks or months grrrrrr... I also need an extra step since I had heart surgery, my cardiologist will have to clear me, but I am thinking positive and in will make sure I will have surgery as soon as it's available .. I really envy those of you that are scheduled for surgery tomorrow am of course I wish you lots of luck!!

I everyone. I am beyond happy that I found this site. Like many of you, I have tried to lose weight for the past 7 years(I'm 25) and I just can't seem to lose it. I lose the weight and gain it right back.. My sister got sleeved on January and OMG she went from a size 18 to a small .. Amazing I know.. So at first, after seeing her have some complications, I said I can't do this, forget it... But just 3 days ago, I was trying to wear something for work and it wouldn't for properly and after trying few other outfits, I said that's it, I will have the surgery regardless what ends up being. Not for nothing, but I have an amazing life, I have a awesome job, I go to school which I graduate next fall, but I'm not happy with my weight. This is where the problem arises, I weight 200... I could of swore I was more but I was too scared to weigh my self. So 2 days ago I wanted to see how much I weighted and I was disappointed lol.. I calculated my BMi and it's 34 Uhg so frustrating.. Now some of you may say well wtf are u doing here, but that's not the case.. I am very self couscous and I don't ever go on dates bc I feel like I am huge (which 200 is not small) I am 5'4 also... I am registered for a seminar for Wednesday 10/2/13... Not sure if I qualify? Would I? I mean I do wear a size 16 so you would think I do? Right? I was always a size 4 until I turned 19.... I know it's wrong but should I gain a little weight? I did have a heart surgery in 2010 and my heart beats more than normal peoples so maybe they can consider that right? Worse comes to worse and my insurance say No, can I do it anyways paying cash? Will they allow me even though my BMi is not 35? I really want to be at least 130 and I have tried almost every single diet on the planet.. I just want some insight since I really want to do it but my family won't really support me since they still think I have a heart condition which I don't anymore.. I have decided I am going to do it even if it costs my life in the end... That's how serious I am .. And I have read so many of your stories and I am inspired.

Under 180Lbs And Getting Sleeved, Anyone Else?
donaboss replied to Cuaya's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For those who self pay? How much was the surgery? Do they have monthly payments you can make?
