Post op? When did your energy increase?
cushy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 2 weeks post op and I notice that my motivation to exercise was actually better pre op, 4 days a week exercising before was no problem for me. Im getting in all my liquids and protein. I know that my body has a lot of changes to adjust to, but I'm wanting feedback on how long after surgery did others regain the drive to work out? I don't know if this is a mental issue or a energy issue for me, it's just crazy that pre op I didn't have this problem. -
I'm 3 weeks post op sleeved on May 9th and I've lost 13 pounds since then with a total lost of 25 pounds since 4/25, I notice that my frame looks a lot smaller than what the numbers show and my clothes are a lot looser especially in the stomach and waistline. I'm just wanting feedback from others in regards to inches lost and it's impact on what you see in the mirror versus the scale. Thanks

You will be fine, just know that your walking time may be shorter than what you like but you can always repeat throughout the day. Congrats on your upcoming sleeve!! -

Thank you, I'm hanging in there and I can say day by day I'm seeing a small increase in energy just not quite back to normal yet. Good luck to you as well. -

Wow, that's a while, but it beats consuming tons of calories on top of not working out. This is quite a ride. Lol -

Thanks! I never even considered the calorie intake part, my body has to be in some type of shock compared to how I used to eat. Lol. This will get better I'm looking forward to it. -

Thank you so much for responding, this is just one of those issues that you don't want to feel like your out of the ordinary. I'm looking forward to coming out of the sluggish phase I know that exercise will increase my results and I really want to get a handle on this. -
A small insulated cooler works wonders!!

Did anyone get in all of their fluids and protein the first week?
cushy replied to ChavaBling's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two weeks post op and managed to get in all of my liquids and protein after about 4 days post op, my drinking is still the same, although I don't purposely attempt, I am able to "gulp" water the same as before. My doc uses a size 40 bouje "I think that's what it's called" he said that anything smaller was causing more problems and wasn't as successful for patients, maybe this has something to do with it all. I use premiere shakes which is 30g protein in one shake, I'm only able to consume about half a cup of soft food at a time, some days I can't even get that down, but I never have a problem with drinking. -

Anyone have the sleeve surgery around may 7 2014?
cushy replied to lizzyloo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 12 days post op sleeved May9 just had my f/u appointment and have lost 7 pounds in 12 days, I don't know why this disappoints me, ordinarily it would take more than a month to lose 7 pounds my dr says I'm doing great but for some reason I was expecting a bigger loss due to consuming so little, I have no problem getting in 60g of protein and at least 60 ounces of fluids as my Dr recommended, I haven't been exercising just 10 minutes here and there due to the tenderness in my side, I'm really hoping to be able to step it up soon with the exercise to increase my weight loss. I did start the purée stage a few days early, I really needed a egg, the liquids were starting to get to me. Trying to stay encouraged. -
I feel a tightness in my chest, it also feels as if I take another bite it won't fit down my throat, like it's literally going to come back up right away, I made the mistake in taking another bite after feeling this fullness and I felt physically ill for about 2 hours. This is how we learn.

I was sleeved May 9th and I'm the same way, my first 3 days was difficult only due to nausea other than that, no pain meds needed, no gas or heartburn, I haven't had any struggles I wish the same for all of the upcoming sleevers.

Thursday Fun--Does your sleeve have a nickname?
cushy replied to hopeliveshere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Her name is Legend. Only a legend can turn around a 30+ year situation. Lol -
I was May 9th and I'm feeling great 6 days post op, there is tenderness in my side but no pain meds needed, I'm really starting to embrace this new lifestyle knowing that the ultimate reward will be beyond tremendous.

May 6th was a life change for me...
cushy replied to MadamPrincess24's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 6 days post op and mentally hungry not physically, my mind thinks about food but my stomach isn't quite the same, I miss my favorite foods already but the great thing is I ate about 2 ounces of cream soup and felt like I wanted to gag, I had to run to the washroom and relieved myself from the other end, things like this allows me to stay in check by knowing that my stomach cant consume to much or I will be sick eventually my relationship with food will be a healthy one where I'm eating to live and not living to eat. That type of freedom will bring much success. -
Great job!!! I'm 6 days post op haven't weighed in yet but would love to see similar results. Keep up the great work!

Much success to you sister.

Tomorrow I'm finally being sleeved after being delayed since 12/2013. I honestly don't know how to describe how I feel other than saying it's like a mixed bag of emotions, memories, nervousness and excitement just to name a few. I've been heavy all of my life and can never tell you that I know what it's like to be at a regular size, I remember even being the fat kid in kindergarten. Needless to say this is going to be quite an ordeal which will never be lacking in emotions. I think about several missed opportunities in life as well as many judgements that I endured that was specifically difficult during my high school years ( I'm 38 May 17). Tomorrow symbolizes something that always seemed to be out of this world for me which is a chance to finally have a substantial shot at being at a healthy weight as well as having a better quality of life for me and my son. This sleeve will allow me to open many doors for myself that I've avoided basically my entire life. Im a very bubbly person and people seem to love to be around me, I just need to be that bubbly cheerleader for myself and be confident and comfortable with who I am in my own skin, I finally have my chance. I'm going to honor my sleeve!!!
